    The amusment park appears because there was a double-sided board released in 2013 that contained an amusement park setting on the other side as an alternate version of the game. It was a piece of garbage because the board was flimsy, there was some stupid "each characters are part of a secret society" backstory in the manual, the spaces were way too big (which made the game too easy), and every character started in the middle of the board instead of on separate spaces. This applied to both sides. The grab and go version used the box art from the 2013 version, but for some reason used the 2008 "Discover The Secrets" version as a base for the game itself. The 2008 version was an abomination as well, with extra rules that artificially made the game take longer but also took the charm away from it. The grab and go version got rid of those extra rules despite being based on it. Fortunately, in 2016, Hasbro went back to publishing an accurate version of the game with the original rooms and weapons, with the only major changes being Mrs. White replaced with Dr. Orchid, and some extra cards to draw when rolling a one (which was an optional rule). The replaced character was a disappointment, but it's refreshing to have an accurate version publsihed after about eight years of crud (and the extra cards were optional anyway).

    The dumb thing is the only thing that needs to be smaller is the board and game pieces. Everything else could easily just be normal sized

    I really want to buy this game but I have trouble choosing which one to buy. Should I buy the original board game, grab&go, or clue suspect (the card one)?

    YOU ARE VERY GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Very helpful! But I don't really get the going into the rooms part..like- if you enter a room, you cannot go outside nor go into other rooms (like for example: you go inside the spa, so you will stay inside the spa for the whole round)??
    Another one is the suggesting..this is quite linked with the question I said up there, so if you're in a room (the spa) and you want to make a suggestion the place is already set in the spa, correct? So what if..since you can't change or got out into rooms, let's say if you want to make a suggestion and the place is the living room but you're in the spa..do you have to like- move your piece in that room or like, you can only suggest in the room you are in. Like it's permanent..
    How does that work? It's the only thing I'm confuse about
    (And may I ask what is the purpose of putting the little weapon cards on different rooms?)

    • @markispeawelby
      @markispeawelby  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you enter a room mid-roll, you can't move for the rest of the roll for that turn. This rule makes it so that players don't take excessively, unreasonable shortcuts(the only "legal" shortcuts are the secret passages found in the rooms located in the corners of the game board). For example, the Patio has two of its four doors on opposite ends: no player is allowed to move through the Patio to reach the Spa/Kitchen on the same turn, and thus must go around instead.
      When you're in a room at the start of your turn and you roll to move, you leave the room and move towards a different one - you're never stuck in the same room for the rest of the game. If you want to make a suggestion for a certain room, you must move your piece to that specific room(unless you're lucky that an opponent's suggestion moves your piece to a room you wanted to go to).
      For the weapon cards: at the start of a game, they are placed on the rooms in any order. When a weapon is used for a suggestion, the respective weapon card is moved to the room the suggester is in. Weapon cards cannot be placed outside of rooms, and a single room can have multiple weapon cards and player pieces at once.

      @@markispeawelby I have a question: what is the point of moving weapon cards into the rooms when suggesting throughout the game? It seems that the game can also be played with only moving the player pieces and not moving the weapons if that makes sense.

    • @markispeawelby
      @markispeawelby  ปีที่แล้ว

      The only reason I can think of is for the appeal. The regular Clue board game has actually game pieces for weapons instead of cards. They're not really needed if its too much of a hassle to move them.

    Will someone help me clarify one thing? Does the turn ends when one of the cards suggested were shown or when all players were questioned?

    • @markispeawelby
      @markispeawelby  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In both the regular and Grab & Go versions, your turn is over once a card is secretly shown to you, whether it's from the player on your left, your right, or whoever else(thus, you're shown one clue, or none if no one has what you suggested).
      In Clue: Master Detective on the other hand, all players are questioned(thus, you may be shown more clues).

    This is very helpful but i dont get how you do the suggestions and how do you show the cards "secretly" while everyone playing is watching?

    • @markispeawelby
      @markispeawelby  ปีที่แล้ว

      For suggestions, after you moved your piece(and your piece is in a room), you start with "I suggest that it was..." so you don't accidentally make an accusation. Then follow up that sentence with "...who, with what, and where". Of course with "where", you can only use the room that your piece is in, and with "who" and "what", don't forget to move the appropriate pieces to the room that you're in.
      When you need to show a clue secretly to another player, take the card and barely cover it with both hands so the suggester can peek at it. If you're sitting around a table, you may have to get out of your seat and walk around to the suggester with the respective clue card so they can peek at it up-close, unless you have good arm reach or the suggester is sitting next to you.
      Hope this helps.

    Do you have to roll the exact number on the dice in order to enter the room? For example, what if I have 3 tiles to the room entrance and roll 6, do I have to waint another turn and roll exactly 3 or can I enter the room no matter that my rolled number was too high? Thank you!

    • @markispeawelby
      @markispeawelby  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don't have to roll the exact number.
