Show your boy some support and hit the LIKE button because this took over 20 hours of grinding to pull off! As far as this partciular run goes there is one small correction, funny enough Joker hit my entire party with instant death so we did in fact lose our Enduring Soul effect, but that really didnt end up mattering in the grand scheme of things, I DID misplay in phase 2 though as a Marakukaja from Akihiko would have made surviving the 2nd Megidolan much easier
@@JohneAwesome You are making me want to get this dlc lmfao. I love suffering in JRPGs, and I beat DDS2 Satan a few years back and man, that shit took 7 hours on top of the like 40 hours of grinding to even _get_ to him.
If the Abyss of Time is based on the memories of the party, maybe the reason Joker is here is because the party's time in Persona Q2, even if they forgot it happened. Or maybe he's just here because they like him.
It's hilarious that one of the biggest complaints with reload is how easy it is, yet it also has (according to many) the hardest boss in the persona franchise.
I didn't use Milady, I used Satanael for Pierce, I preferred to resist all the elements (It was even poetic to use Satanael to defeat Joker after I died to Sinful shell five times because I didn't know the rules 💀) Great video like aways.
Congrats on your clear! Speaking of how difficult it is to bring Metis on this fight, I actually managed to clear Joker earlier today with only Metis and Aigis on Heartless and it took me forever to do and strategize XD.
Persona 5 would never die if it were solely for atlus I swear, if they had Maruki's wish, they would choose for Persona 5 to be a worldwide hit so they never have to make ANY more games ever and just roll in that sweet sweet P5 cash
Just thought of the potential actual rule to "doing too much damage" on Joker. Perhaps there is a "damage stack limit" that you need to keep yourself under. If you use all the non-dlc damage multiplier abilities(magic ability, magic mastery, element boost, element amp, target boost) you'll reach about 4x damage. Perhaps once you do damage with that 4x multiplier regardless of what actual skill you use it counts as breaking his rule? Thinking that way could lead to more solid testing, like maybe using weak elemental spells but with all the possible boosts and seeing if that goads Joker into using Sinful Shell, or if it's theurgy specifically, stacking ice damage increases and seeing if King and I goads Joker even though it does less damage than Dreamfest.
As far as im aware there is no actual rule about doing too much damage (at least from what i saw CTOBN listed as that dude datamines). Correction about one rule is that on Jokers First turn you can’t have Concentrate/Charge and since he goes first on Merciless it pretty much just means no Auto Concentrate/Charge.
I'm trying to catch up the P3R videos, but I'm going leave here that I would love, since Johne played all versions of this game, a dedicated comparisons video. Would be nice a more relaxed and Johne's in-depth analysis of this title

I wish that instead of Joker the boss was the Femc. It would have been nice since Atlus didnt have time to make her campaign in their schedule. Also its kind of interesting between Joker and Masakado from SMTV Vengeance Atlus wants the protagonist character to take more of a support role to better the odds of success in their respective superboss fights

I disagree that he’s harder than ANY velvet room assistant. I’d say FES Elizabeth on highest difficulty is harder. Heartless makes him harder, but still not that difficult. DDS Demifiend remains my favourite superboss.
@@JohneAwesome Think it comes down to freedom to do whatever you want more so against joker, due to constant threat of Slash/Pierce/Bash which is unpredictable. Also, obviously, Thunder Reign into Death lol. Elizabeth is the better boss, too. Do you now think Persona 3 Reload is the definitive P3 experience? As someone who played it back in Christmas 2008 December and FES has been my favourite game since then, I truly believe Reload has become the definitive experience, although it definitely does a lot worse than FES did.
P5 takes place in "20XX", but is likely 2016 by comparing it to an IRL calendar, as well as an easy to miss TV report mentioning that Rise Kujikawa is at least 20 years old by the time of P5 Though the difference between the years doesn't really have any bearing on how this encounter happens. "Joker" seems to be a cognitive being made by a reaction between the Abyss of Time and (what Metis implies to be) Mementos in the future This is possible because both the Abyss of Time and Mementos are places linked to/in humanity's Collective Unconsciousness, a metaphysical space connecting across all points of time. It's the same explanation to why the crossovers between the different casts in the Persona Q games can happen in the first place
The Abyss of Time and Mementos are connected to humanity's unconscious which stretches across the entirety of time, and we had previous games show it can pull people from different times or even parallel universes into it. It's not that much of a stretch that it can also allow the two places to interact with each other.

I see people saying this fight is so cool but to me this fight is just dumb and boring. The ridiculous amount of untold restrictions just removes any kind of personal strategy and all of the fun as a result. So many moves are restricted, some of these rules are absolutely needless, it makes it more of a chore and a grind fest than a challenging fight where you make the most use of all of the game’s mechanics to show your mastery. Unspoken rules in general are just dumb. I feel like Atlus was so close to perfection with the Lavenza fight if only her mechanics were all told, because at least no actual moves are restricted; you just have to meet damage thresholds or technical or crit during certain phases, which are key game mechanics you should have mastered.
