    The money part of being an owner op is cool and all but I just like the idea of having more control about taking a few days off here and there. That sort of thing.

    Leases are not that difficult. It's all about your business knowledge and aptitude. If you don't understand the business side of the industry, stay a company driver. There's great money to be made as a lease operator

    Best thing to do is live in your company truck a few years and then buy your own with CASH.

    The company I currently work for has a least purchase program and also a lease operator without purchase program. What should I look for in choosing between the 2 options?

    • @relltherecruiter9069
      @relltherecruiter9069 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lease operator position gives the benefit of getting paid like an O/O with out the headache of owning a truck, and you don't have to worry about the maintenance of truck and trailer.

  • @GeorgeSchumpf

    Also the company I work for will not let me see the lease purchase contract or the lease operator contract until I stop in the office to sign it. That sounds like a red flag to me. What do you think?

    • @NorthAmerican-Trucking-News
      @NorthAmerican-Trucking-News  ปีที่แล้ว

      100% red flag my friend! Don't sign anything until you know what you're signing up for!

    I have been watching your videos for a couple of days and find them them very informative. I am thinking about getting into a lease program. You have been saying not to go more than 4 or 5 years. The company I am talking to has a program for 84 months. Is this a red flag?

    • @kentr2424
      @kentr2424 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      84 months is seven years. That is one major huge red flag......

    • @vitaquasus1120

    Would it be better for me to lease purchase a truck off a dealer

    • @NorthAmerican-Trucking-News
      @NorthAmerican-Trucking-News  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The best thing about leasing off of a dealer is that you're not tied to one company. If you lease with a company you better make sure that the company is one that you're willing to stay with for 3-4 years.
