      @@clintonwilliams5060 yep, that storm claimed my band mate's tent. He set it up too close to the main path through the camp ground and it just disappeared in the mud. My fav was a guy that walked around with a toilet brush and shouted "BEHOLD THE BRUSH!" and then two nights later he taped it to like a 4m long stick. You can kinda see it in photos of the main stage 😄And of course, helping everyone look for Marjan.

    Tolminator will be a completely different story than MetalScamDays. Organizers are Dirty Skunks team (20+ years of organizing metal/punk/rock concerts in Slovenia and great people), tickets and prices are as normal as it can be in current environment, it will look a lot like Punk Rock Holidays which, from an organization stand point, is A LOT better and people friendly than MetalDays ever was. Can't wait

    Great video for a great festival !
    I also wanted to add some infos : the festival is in the mountains, but prepare yourself for heat waves. When I went last year we had something like 38° celsius on some days. Your tent will heat up even if it's made against high temperatures. And the river is great but the water is c o l d as hell. Be cautious of temperature shocks.
    Also, if you want cheep beer, there's a supermarket near the festival, no need to go in the actual town.

    i am glad there is a metal festival in Tolmin again. i went to about 9 itterations of Metaldays/Metalcamp starting as a clueless 19y. o. back in 2009. the place was full of metalheads even during covid. the lineup of Tolminator isn't really my thing with the exception of 2 or 3 bands, tho. yes, sorry, my introverted as.. mostly goes to festivals to see bands i can't afford to see individually. luckly i live close enough to Tolmin to be able to visit on any random day off. if i am feeling up to 3h of driving on twisty roads that is. also,, airports like Venice and Zagreb are also close enough for anyone searching for a flight. but also, yes, as someone mentioned, the weather can be rather brutal. its either trying to burn us alive with 40°C sun or there is a storm appearing out of nowhere blowing your tent away.

    The best Festival for me in Europe. Was there 4 times. It´s not the lineup that matters, its the location. Only one in competition is Brutal Assaut in an old Fortress.
    Only negative thing about Metaldays 2022, was the higher prices... Cocktails where like 12 Euro and I saw Burgers for 20€. Spend like 1.2k there:D
    Not the case with Brutal. It´s about 2 € for a beer and 4€ for a cocktail. Or was in 2019. So this year it´s off to Czech Republic again.
    Like the others said, be aware of the heat. Had days there, when i couldn´t really do anything, cause it was +40°C. Even going to the water you are longing for can be a hard trip.
    But most of the Festivalarea is in the shadow! Only the Mainstage is fully in the sun, which can be hard, even or especially for the bands.
    But the scenery is beautiful and the town is also a good place to be. They open up Bars and the Restaurant are really good and pretty cheap as well.

    • @lukaskolisek2208
      @lukaskolisek2208 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, the heat on Brutal Assault is killer, especially combined with the dust everywhere. I snort out lumps of dusty mess for another 2-3 days after I get home. And to complete it with big "FUCK YOU!" like a cherry on top, it always rains on Saturday night so you pack wet stuff on Sunday morning. But I must admit, last year's heavy rain during Front Line Assembly set was cool as hell. And refreshing.

    Huh, Tolminator??
    I thought Metaldays had to move due to some problems with the local council or some shit! Awesome that something else is taking its place.
    Only managed to visit Metaldays once in all my years of Euro metal fests, back in 2014. I loved Slovenia and the locals, but wasn't so into the actual festival.... some of us just prefer the mud I guess lol.

    • @yvs6663
      @yvs6663 ปีที่แล้ว

      Metaldays primarily moved due to a bypass road being built which reduced the capacity of the campground. it went from probably having close to 15000(including the crew) to only having space for 5000 people. it pains me to saying but with the new location, ticket return scandals and the fact that its getting more expensive to attend every year, Metaldays might start to lose its popularity with people.
