    What I learned from this is that you work out your carry weight - 20lb - over time. 👍 I took a load of junk gear out today to try it and start the process. Overthink things.

    I THINK THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TO CARRY AT YOUR RUCKSACK ARE A PAIR OF NAILSCISSORS AND A NAIL CLIPPER, BECAUSE WITHOUT THEM, IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE NAILS, ESPECIALLY, FROM YOUR TOES YOU CAN'T GO ANYWHERE. EXCELLENT VIDEO, AS ALWAYS.

    20lb Neil, I think that’s good, mines near 20kg, most of that is food to be fair.
    Sunny days fella 👍👍
    All the best.

    Hi Neil thank you for the nice video.... And thank you for my patch, I've finally sewn it onto my karrimor rucksack and I love it. Quick question, I noticed you wear a casio g shock.. I also notice you have a mini compass on the strap, could you explain what model it is and what mods if any you've done to it, maybe a video on it for us watch geeks 😊

    I'm living in Germany and they undoubtedly make the best coffee but they don't understand tea, Ostfriesiantee is about the best. I now import PG Tibbs via Amazon. The question is, what brand of tea do you recommend. Tibbs tasts like heaven compared to German tea but you might know of something better than Tibbs.

    Hi, Neil. I have that same Opinel saw and for the size and weight, it's a marvel. The thing with mine is that when it's humid and wet for a long time, the wood handle swells and it can be almost impossible to open without pliers, which isn't good. Got any tips or thoughts regarding what I might be able to do about this?

    • @greencraft4783
      @greencraft4783  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Tom. I have had the same problem 😕. In the winter months I find carrying it in my trouser pockets help. I think my body warmth keeps the wood from swelling. Give it a try buddy.

      Does the size compromise its usability? I have the Laplander but the aesthetics of an Opinel saw just beats a Laplander. I know about the size 18 but if there is no big other than the size and locking mechanism, should I go for the smaller of bigger version if pairing it with a tomahawk, fixed blade and pocket knife. Or should I just go full mountain men mode and only have the tomahawk, fixed blade and pocket knife?

      @susanp.collins7834 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Try keeping it in a small bag with a silica gel sachet in it. You know - those little sachets that come with some products that need to be kept humidity free. I've threatened my family and friends with slow death and destruction if they throw them away. OK - I've had a idea. How LONG is that Opinel Saw? Let me know. I've had a idea..

    about replacing the #12 Opinel saw blade... I think that you could replace it with a reciprocating saw blade and some time at the shop grinding wheel, I have yet to try it but it looks possible... replacing the saw blade...th-cam.com/video/bfWCMI6SDpw/w-d-xo.html
