BOSQUE de CHAPULTEPEC: Mexico City's Massive DOUBLE-SIZED Central Park | Mexico Travel Vlog

  • Did you know there's a royal castle in Mexico City? How about a city park that's twice the size of Central Park?
    The Bosque de Chapultepec (Chapultepec Forest/Chapultepec Park) is a 1700-acre space that is home to Chapultepec Castle, three lakes, NINE museums, dozens of cafes and restaurants, a botanical garden, a zoo, a cave that is believed to be the entrance to the underworld, and tons of winding paths that lead through the towering Montezuma cypresses that date back to pre-Columbian times.
    One of the largest parks in the world - the second-largest in Latin America - it's no wonder that Chapultepec Park gets 15 million visitors per year. I spent the entire day wandering through the forest, visiting museums, and enjoying the peace of this massive green space nestled right in the middle of the bustling city.

    In the Mexican american war, that castle survived the passage of the United States army in the greatest of its war adventures and conquest of Mexico, depriving our country of more than half of its territory and in the search for the signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe, they razed everything that opposed his path, hence the sad Legend of "Los Ninos Héroes" was born.

    There are SO many things to do at Chapultepec and the whole place is packed with secrets. Besides the National Museum of Anthropology and the Chapultepec Castle, you have the Natural History Museum, the Papalote Child Museum, the Chapultepec Zoo, the Cárcamo Museum (With underwater murals by Diego Rivera), the Audiorama, the National Auditorium, the Campo Marte, the Casa del Lago Cultural Centre, and soooo many huge monuments all around the place. You could literally spend days exploring the place, there´s even a real life hunted mannor hidden somewhere in the third section!

    • @JanetteAllenTravel
      @JanetteAllenTravel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh wow! I definitely have to go back to find some of these, especially the haunted manor! I've spent a good amount of time in section 1 and just a little bit in section 2 quite a few years ago. I've never even set foot in section 3!

    • @eduardof7322
      @eduardof7322 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JanetteAllenTravel
      Yes, the section 3 used to be indeed a naturally forested area with cliffs and hills that was later annexed to the park, but it was never completely "urbanized" to make it a proper park like sections 1 and 2. At some point they tried to do it, even building a huge aquatic park over there, but it went to bankrupt and now it is a pretty creepy place. That´s why a lot of people think that section 3 is kinda "haunted" as it remains mostly abandoned and desserted (And because there´s a massive cementery on it, one of the most famous in the city). Today "El Sope" is the only part that is used as a regular park, being a popular spot to do excercise. If you want more information here you have a video of a Canadian guy that was able to enter to the abandoned water park, and some articles in Spanish about the haunted mannor, which is locally called La Casa de la Tía Toña:

    With the rise of the Second Mexican Empire in 1864 the castle became the official residence of Emperor Maximilian I and his wife Empress Carlota. Maximilian, while in name and title the Emperor of Mexico, was in fact an Austrian prince of the Habsburg dynasty who was not ethnically Mexican at all, having been offered the crown by Mexican monarchists who were puppets of the French who sought to add Mexico to their empire. During this period the castle began to take on its current floor plan, with Maximilian hiring multiple architects to re-design the castle in the neo-classical style which was popular at the time.
    The Emperor Maximilian of Habsburg decreed on 16 September 1865 the following:
    Art 1 °. The title of "Princes of Iturbide" is awarded to Don Agustín de Iturbide and Don Salvador de Iturbide, grandsons of the Emperor Agustín de Iturbide, as well as his daughter Doña Josefa de Iturbide.
    Art 2 °. The Princes mentioned in the previous article, will have the treatment of Highness, and will take rank after the reigning family.
    Art 3 °. This title is not hereditary, and in the event that the mentioned princes had legitimate succession, the reigning Emperor or the Regency will reserve the faculty to grant the expressed title, in each case, to that or those of his successors that they deem convenient.
    Art 4 °. By virtue of the arrangements made with the members of the Iturbide family, the Emperor takes the guardianship and curatorship of the aforementioned princes Agustín and Salvador de Iturbide, appointing as co-tutor the Princess Josefa de Iturbide.
    Art 5 °. The coat of arms used by the aforementioned princes, will be the ancient of his family, with mantle and crown of Prince, and having as support the two rampant wolves of the same shield of his family, granting them by special grace the use of the National Shield in the center of the aforementioned blazon, according to the design that is attached.
    Art 6 °. The Princes of Iturbide will have the right to wear the national badge without a flame, and the button with its crown of Prince.
    In 1867, Maximilian was deposed and executed on the orders of Benito Juárez.
    The Political Constitution of Mexico has prohibited the state from granting any titles of nobility since 1917. The United Mexican States do not issue or recognize titles of nobility or hereditary prerogatives and honors.
    Mexican nobility refers to the titled nobles and untitled gentry families of Mexico. Most of the descendants of these families still live in Mexico today, while others can also be found in Europe and other countries. With the victories of the Mexican Republics over the monarchies of the First Mexican Empire, headed by Agustín I, and the Second Mexican Empire, under Maximilian I and the writing of the Mexican Constitution of 1917 titles of nobility in Mexico were henceforth legally abolished in Mexico.

    Almost everyone is impressed with the luxurious carriage, that was the carriage of Emperor Maximilian of Habsburg, in front of that carriage there is a very modest black carriage, that is the important one, in it President Juárez kept the republic alive during the time that Maximilian ruled Mexico thanks to the support of the French army.

    Benim ingilizcem iyi değil. O yüzden Türkçe yazıyorum. Google translete süper çevirmesede sanırım anlaşılır. Ancak bilmeniz gereken ilginç bir bilgiyi vermek isterim. Chapultepec hangi dilde biliyor musunuz. (Chapu)l Çapulcu (Tepec) tepe den gelir. Çekirge ile alakası yoktur. Bununla ilgili çok ciddi araştırmalar var. Ama tabi genelde Avrupalı ve Amerikalılar kendilerinin Roma medeniyetinin devamı gibi görürler. Türklerse düşmandır. Türk kültürünün Çin ve Mısır medeniyetindende eski olduğunu profesörleriniz bilir. Ama anlatmayı sevmez gizlenir. Bu gün Çinlililerin üzerini ağaçlarla kapladığı girişine izin verilmeyen 100 den fazla Mısırdan ve Çinden eski Türk piramidinin varlığını kimseye söylemezler. Bilmeniz gereken Amerika kıtasındaki Kızılderirililerin, Mayaların ve Azteklerin bering boğazı donduğunda Amerika kıtasına orta Asyadan geçen Türk soylu halklar olmasıdır. Bu şimdilik herkes tarafından kesin kabul görmesede Amerikan kuzey veya Güney yerlilerinin kültürü, bir çok amblemi kültürel alışkanlıkları halıda kilimde Türklerle aynıdır. Peki niye Çinlilerle Ruslsrla İngiliz veya Fransızla aynı değilde Türklerle bu kadar raslantı mı olur. Zaten Bu günkü Rusyanın yarıdan çoğu Türk topraklarıdır. Sibirya Türk topraklarıdır. İsmini Sabir Türklerinden alır. oradan Amerika kıtadına geçenlerin Türk olmadı doğaldır. Maya dilinde bir çok Türkçe kelime vardır. Türkçe Çapulcu, haydut kelimesine karşılık gelir. Bu gün Türkçede aynı şekilde günlük dilde kullanılır. (çapultepe ise haydutlar tepesidir.) Size küçük bir makale vermek isterim. Meksika'da Türk izleri
    Amerika kıtasının yerlileri olarak bilinen Kızılderililerin kökeni tartışıla dursun, bugün bile hala gizemini koruyan Maya uygarlığında Türk izleri kesin olarak mevcuttur.
    Kırşehir Ahi Evran Üniversitesi, Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi, Öğretim Üyesi,Doç. Dr. İsmail Doğan, Maya uygarlığında Türk izlerinin gayet belirgin olduğunu söyledi.
    Türkoloji alanının önemli isimlerinden, 1993 yılında 'Türk Dili Doktoru' unvanını alan, 19 Ocak 2009 tarihinde Üniversiteler arası Kurul tarafından 'Eski Türk Dili Doçenti' unvanı verilen Doç. Dr. İsmail Doğan, Ordu şehrinde verdiği bir konferansta geçmişi M.Ö. 600 yıllarına kadar uzanan M.S. 1500'lü yıllara kadar hüküm süren Maya uygarlığında Türk izleri bulunduğunu kaydetti. Maya uygarlığının hüküm sürdüğü bugün 97 milyon nüfuslu Meksika'da 12 bin 700 yerli halk bulunduğunu ve 62 ayrı dil konuşulduğunu
    belirten Doç. Dr. Doğan, 12 bir yerleşim yerinin 306'sının Türkçe 'tepe' kelimesine sahip olduğuna dikkat çekti. Örnek olarak 'Çaltepek, Çapultepek' isimlerini gösteren Doğan, konuşulan dil içerisinde de 465 Türkçe kelime bulunduğunu, ayrıca 400 farklı kelimenin de Türkçe ses denkliğinde dillendirildiğini vurguladı.
    MAYA'LARDA TÜRK İZLERİ
    Özellikle Meksika'da konuşulan diller içerisinde Türkçe kelimelerin çokluğuna dikkat çeken Doğan, "Mesela (keç:göç), (keçmek:göçmek), (kul:tapmak), (koos:kuş), (talan:zorla almak), (tul:dol) kelimeleri Türkçe ve Türkçe ses denkliğinde konuşuluyor. Dahası, Maya mimarisindeki süsleme sanatı, kapı, pencere gibi objeler Karahanlı ve Selçuklu mimarisi ile aynıdır. Astronomide gerçekten çok ileri olan Maya'larda yıldızları ve uzayı gözlemek için yapılan gözlemevlerinin mimarisi, Selçuklu ve Osmanlı dönemlerinde yapılan Siirt şehrinin-Tillo ilçesindeki, Şanlıurfa şehrinin-Harran ilçesindeki ve Kırşehir şehrinin Cacabey ilçesindeki gözlemevleri mimarisiyle aynıdır. Dokuma ve el sanatlarındaki kilim desenleri Türk motifleriyle aynıdır. Maya uygarlığında Türk izleri oldukça çoktur."
