Hi! Mexican here. I’m sorry you had a bad experience with the robbery :( I’m glad you had a great time in my city besides that. People are indeed really friendly you just have to be cautious. But I really liked the fact that that didn’t stop your journey or entirely transform it into a bad city for you. I hope you comeback to explore more! Cheers :)
Thanks so much! Yes everyone otherwise was so nice and I’m just glad the robbery wasn’t any worse than it was! Definitely will be more careful next time 🙈
I don't at all mean to be hurtful or personally insulting but I'm not entirely convinced this sweet natured, naive girl learned her lesson from that appalling street robbery experience because two days later she's sitting with the bloke she saw right before the robbery-- a total stranger-- and agreeing to eat his uneaten chia pudding 🤦♀. Imagine if he'd sprinkled some kind of poison or intoxicant into it then robbed her or shuffled her hastily into a pre-ordered Uber. I winced hearing her smile and share her experience with 'such a nice guy'. You don't eat food or drink anything given to you by a total stranger, even if they're being friendly and benign and seem genuine. It's called grooming. I wish her nothing but safety, happiness and good fortune and hopes she finds a way to toughen up and get smart without another tragedy being the catalyst for her sense of self-preservation to kick in. Especially if she's going to travel to dangerous countries as a single female. Good grief. 🤦♀
@@Tita_aeb I'm very well travelled and tend to take calculated risks generally speaking. Mexico is one of my dream destinations. San Miguel de Allende and Mexico City and at least ten more places I'd LOVE to visit. One of my favourite countries in the world. Researching the true risks to tourists in Mexico is difficult and I have no idea what the true situation is or will be. PS= Mexican food has always been one of my favourites too. PROPER Mexican food I mean.😋
As a Mexican-American this vlog is so cute I havent visited family there since I was 17 so maybe I need to revisit again soon! Again about the robbery I get what it can be like to feel defeated I felt the exact same way when I was pick pocketed in Paris. It is a good thing to keep in mind that it can happen anywhere thank you for not letting it ruin your trip or perception of Mexico
The evacuation was probably because of an earthquake or an earthquake simulacrum! They are very common in CDMX and that’s just the procedure to keep everyone safe 😊
Ah thank you! I was wondering if that was the reason but I even looked up whether there would be an earthquake that day and nothing came up! Probably a simulation then ☺️
Im an American who’s lived here for 3 years with my Mexican husband, and it’s so funny seeing you go through all the same reactions/experiences I had when I first moved here. During rainy season it LITERALLY rains around the same time every day for 3-4 months which isn’t common anywhere in the states. Also my first earthquake evacuation I was confused as well because you can’t hear the sirens from everywhere. If it was just a drill they don’t do sirens. If I didn’t have my husband telling me what was going on I would have been so thrown of haha. So sorry you were a target of robbery, especially when you and your friend were minding your own business. This is common even in the nicer neighborhoods. My husband and I have even witnessed one ourselves in Roma and im positive if I didn’t have him, I would’ve been a victim by now. Regardless so glad you enjoyed your trip. All your outfits were adorable and you gave really great recommendations. Come back soon!!
Been rly enjoying your vlogs. Nicely edited. Perhaps a vid on traveling solo- how to stay comfortable, language barrier, filming solo and safety tips? TY! 😬
Hello! Mexican living in CDMX here. I'm glad you were able to enjoy your time here, even with the robbery :(. For when you come back (soon, hopefuly haha) I would recomend exploring the rest of the city along with someone who is local and you trust or maybe a guide so you can experience the true heart of Mexico and not only the social-media famous places. Although the places you visited are incredible and honestly quite a few of my favorites, they don't reflect Mexico City's essence at all.
I'm truly sorry you had to go through this. It's incredibly unfair and frustrating to have something like this happen to you. As someone from Mexico, I understand how challenging situations like these can be. While it’s difficult to comprehend what drives people to commit such acts, I hope that both you and those involved can find a better path forward. Please take care of yourself, and I hope you find the strength and support you need to heal from this experience. You're in my thoughts, and I’m sending you all the best wishes during this tough time.
Girl I am so sorry you went through that! You don’t have to downplay it, it is a terrible situation to be in and I m very ashamed it happened in my country 😢 pls be careful since it happens all the time!
Hubby and I are going to Mexico City for Paul McCartney’s concert-can’t wait!!! However, we only have (1) full day of touring around the city, what’s the top 1 thing to do museum-wise and what are the top 3 restaurants / 3 cafes to try? Can only fit some much in one day 😅
I love your editing style! So beautiful and eye catching, aesthetically pleasing and love it 🤩 I’m happy that despite all of it you had a wonderful time ❤️
I’m sooo sorry you guys had to go through that!! I’m so embarrassed (I’m Mexican) and I wish you didn’t have to go through that. I’m so glad the both of you are ok.
Oh I became a fan, I literally cry when you got robbed and cry again when you went to Vasconcelos because that’s my favorite part of the city and got so many heart breaking memories there omg please I hope you come back despite what happened 😔🤧🥺🥹
I love your outfits! Do you have them linked anywhere? This was a beautiful vlog. Loved everything you ate & places you visited. Glad you were safe after that unfortunate incident 🙏🏽
i’m very proud to be mexican and to live here… unfortunately, we have security problems, but we try to maintain that there are more positive things than negative ones, mexico is beautiful, colorful, artistic, and there is always something cultural happening, unlike other countries in europe and north america ❤ we are the cradle of art and music on the american continent.
I love that they got a chair for your friends bag. I know in the Mexican culture, leaving your purse on the ground is considered bad luck. My mom would always get upset when I would set her bag on the ground. She would tell me you “lose money” if you do that, and to never set my bag on the ground. It stayed with me and now seeing a bag on the ground makes me feel uneasy 😂. Crazy how the robbery happened but you didn’t lose any money! I don’t know if it corresponds, but something to think about I guess!
the robbery story happened right at the moment when I'd thought 'wow, these girls didn't have those unpleasant experiences people are talking about when they travel to Mexico' 😅 good that it didn't affect your trip! Mexico looks like an amazing city to visit
Oy… that’s blows! I was in CDMX in March, stayed in Condesa, and loved it. I’m going back in Nov for my friend’s bday celebration and staying in the same area. I’ll be sure to be on heightened alert for this type of scam/robbery.
Reality is that this type of crime appeared when Mexico waive the visa requirements for Colombian, Peruvians and others. Yes, this crime just popped up and it's still happening. They've caught a few and have deported them but they just come back with a different passport. They also use motorcycles to grab thighs from people walking on sidewalks. The Mexican gov knows what is happening but they afraid to reapply the visa requirement for these countries since they afraid of the other governments' reaction.
@@MaddieTsangLa Roma and Condesa are areas where tourists stay in, and probably more likely for anyone to get robbed. Been in this town a couple times but always stayed in Polanco with no issues. But Polanco is not as popular for tourists to stay in and personally I think it feels safer. And after seeing this video I’m keeping my tradition of only staying in Polanco. Good thing you didn’t let it ruin the rest of your trip.
Hi Maddie, my husband and I had the same exact experience as you and your friend. We were walking around when this happened. They also got into my bag and took my drivers license credit card and my insurance card. I had no idea at all. They were very good at what they did. They tried to charge $5000 at a hardware store. Sorry the robbery happened to you but glad you shared your story. I'll be going to Mexico City this year and I wasn't aware of pickpockets there. I'd heard this same type of scam but in Italy where they squirt mustard on unsuspecting tourists - then they are "helpful" in clearning up the mustard while stealing. So thank you for sharing - I think I'll be putting my credit cards inside my bra or elsewhere!
Girl I literally just created a CDMX list on google maps because of your video!! So excited to visit so many of the vibrant places you showcased. Also all of your dresses looked STUNNING on you, esp the white dress after going to Rosetta, the yellow farm rio dress, and the lemons one! New sub and stoked to check out more of your adventures 💕
I was in CDMX Sept of 2023 and it actually did torrential downpour at the same time every evening. It’s such a special city. Im sorry you got robbed and glad it wasn’t worse and didn’t ruin the trip for you.
Where is the linen corset dress from that you wore to the museum 😍 soooo cute! And the bag you had at the cafe on your solo journey was also very cute!
I truly enjoyed your video. I think its your soothing voice. Going back to Mexico City November, my daughter and I, gonna try some of the spots you showed. Thank you.
So this video popped up on my TH-cam homepage and I’m like Maddie Tsang? Don’t I know her? Then I realized it’s from following on IG for years, has no idea you were a TH-camr as well! This was a great roundup and your travels are so well planned and curated just like your IG. I know that your TH-cam is going to explode. LOVE your vlogs and you’re so talented. Do you edit your own videos too? Sorry to hear about the robbery but glad that you were still able to enjoy your trip. I love Mexico so much

Hey Maddie! I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the robbery. I admire how you stayed positive despite what happened :( I first saw your vlogs a few months ago (your Portugal trip). I've been wanting to travel, and I figured that I should go on a trip after I graduated college. I'm flying to Portugal soon, and I'm using your vlog/itinerary as a guide! I went to mexico city earlier this summer so it was so cool to see some of the places I had went to. And now I'm glad to have more spots to check out because of this video :) CDMX is so beautiful
Love your editing skills! We are planning on visiting the same areas next year, was hoping if you can share info on the first Airbnb. Definitely trying these places. So sorry about the robbery. 😢
Great video, thank you for sharing! And a lot of helpful information about Mexico City. I also liked your editing style. May I ask you which video editing software and what type of camera are you using? I am trying to set up my own TH-cam channel now, so would appreciate your advice!
I loved your video! Thank you for sharing your experiences good and bad. I’m sorry you and your friend were robbed! I have to ask you. Where do you get your dresses? They are gorgeous! Please include some links in your next video and maybe a list of brands or stores for the clothes from this video. Thanks!!
How did you meet Melissa? I am curious, what if she was part of the robbery? Lol that was so random and scary. But, I do believe you. I am Mexican and a taxi driver attempted to get a lot of money from me and my mom. I was so scared and because of my Mom I gave them the money cuz I wasn’t gonna expose my mom to those evil people. But, it’s so very disappointing these things continue happening. I am from Oaxaca MX and my people are very honest and respectful but Mexico City scared me.
So sorry about the robbery, im mexican and i feel so bad about that experience but its good that u and ur friend take with the best attitude ❤ thanks for coming 😊
I got robbed in Turkey, and even though I loved it there it did put a damper on the end of our trip. But now I’m more aware of my bag, and surroundings, etc. going to CDMX soon can’t wait. What month did you go and how was the weather?? Thanks in advance!
Loved this beautiful vlog, very aesthetically pleasing. My father is from Mexico & would always go sight seeing with him, but I had no idea all of those cute places were there. Definitely going to check these places out next time I go ❤

Hi, I am glad you are ok after your experience in CDMX. I am Mexican and yes, I think Mexicans in Mexico are in general polite but they keep to themselves so if someone approaches you, be careful.
So very sorry of that happening. I’ve seen stories like this before and just so you’re aware they had caught these woman doing the same thing in Mexico (they we’re Peruvian). It’s a shame it happened from whoever but just wanted to mention I hope it doesn’t shape any judgment on the ppl in this city/country bc sometimes these crimes comes from ppl in the other states or even ppl from outside of the country. God bless and stay safe next time. Even Mexican on Mexican crime it’s dodgy. I’m going to visit cdmx in a few days and I’ll be extra cautious bc of this vid thanks ❤
WHEN I go to Mexico I like to eat their authentic food and I feel like you guys ate pretty much American food that you can eat anywhere in United States except the tacos…
I just discovered this video. Awesome video and cool place where you dined at. I'm sorry for your bad experience. In spite of the bad experience, it seems you still enjoyed your time there. I might have to take your lead on a couple of the places where you dined in.
Lovely episode...Lovely camera work, enticing sharing of all the delicious meals, and fashion to top it all with color and style. Makes me want to travel, travel, travel... and EAT!!!
Hi Maddie, thank you for sharing that trip to Mexico, beautiful cafes and restaurants. Too bad about the robbery, just be careful. I saw your good taste on clothing. Beautiful dresses, jewelry and hair accessories. God bless you always. 🙂
Love your wonderful way of making this video. First time watching you can’t wait to watch the other videos. Will you please share where you bought your white dresses and also the other dresses I noticed sometimes you say where they’re from and then you don’t say where the other ones are from so I was very curious about the white dresses very beautiful thank you. Can’t wait to see more of your magic❤
The evacuation was an earthquake drill! You all foreigners should know that Condesa, Roma, Juárez, Chapultepec and Cuauhtémoc are not as cute as you all think, robberies, delinquency (any kind you can imagine) happens, also earthquakes are really dangerous in that area, just take a look into 2017 earthquake videos! You guys take care!!
You got the whole Mexico City experience with the robbery. In USA when we meet someone from Mexico City everyone exclaims “hide your wallets” it’s an inside joke but very common in Mexico City
Great video! I had an aweful experience in Paris, France, where they pick-pocket my dad and we got almost scamed by the Eiffel Tower....experiences of the big cities around the world...
So sorry this happened to you both! Never bring your valuables in any Country your on vacation. You basically have to blend in w the others. Do not make conversation w strangers. Glad you were safe after all
cute vlog!! I went to cdmx when i was 10 and a robber snatched a gold chain right off my sister’s neck lol 😅 if you go again try more mexican dishes! Oh and in florida for weeks it’s been raining hard EVERY day after 4pm⛈️ so i feel you

Also all of your dresses looked STUNNING on you, esp the white dress after going to Rosetta, the yellow farm rio dress, and the lemons one! New sub and stoked to check out more of your adventures 💕
Aw yay! Thank you so much! 🥰
I was in CDMX Sept of 2023 and it actually did torrential downpour at the same time every evening. It’s such a special city. Im sorry you got robbed and glad it wasn’t worse and didn’t ruin the trip for you.
Your descriptions of everything are so detailed and so good! The vlog is beautiful ❤
Thank you so much!! :)
Glad you guys are ok! ❤ Love your video! You have such a perfect narrator voice! 😊
Ah thank you so much! ☺️❤️
This video has made me want to go back 😫 I love Mexico City
Where is the linen corset dress from that you wore to the museum 😍 soooo cute! And the bag you had at the cafe on your solo journey was also very cute!
I truly enjoyed your video. I think its your soothing voice. Going back to Mexico City November, my daughter and I, gonna try some of the spots you showed. Thank you.
Thank you! ☺️ I hope you enjoy!!
First time seeing your videos .. I enjoyed it good video.. I’m glad u continued with your journey there in Mexico City after the bad experience!!! 😊
Thanks so much! ☺️❤️
I love Mexico so much
Aw thank you so much!! I really appreciate it 🥰🥰 Yes, I edit my own videos- I’ve been really getting into it lately so it means a lot that you enjoyed! :))
Thank you for the free guide! Please continue filming your vlogs, they help me choose my next destination :)
Thank you so much for watching and supporting! I hope you have an amazing trip to Portugal! :)
Now i just wanna go to mexico ...such and inspiring city!
Glad you had a great time in Mexico City. Can you divulge what the Airbnb place you used? I would like to consider staying in that place too. Thanks!
Great video, thank you for sharing! And a lot of helpful information about Mexico City. I also liked your editing style. May I ask you which video editing software and what type of camera are you using? I am trying to set up my own TH-cam channel now, so would appreciate your advice!
Thanks so much! :) I use my iPhone, Sony ZV1-II, and edit with Final Cut Pro
@ : Perfect, thank you very much! Looking forward to more of your videos!
I think I found my new favorite TH-camr!!!
Ahh thank you! 🥰🥰
Thank you for sharing. Can you create a video that goes over the breakdown of the overall cost of ur trip? (Hotels, Airbnb, Ubers, etc. )
Thanks so much for watching! We still had an amazing time ☺️
Great video! Such a beautiful city. Can u list the name of the curling iron you used. I love the thickness of it and it curled your hair beautifully!
I got robbed in Turkey, and even though I loved it there it did put a damper on the end of our trip.
But now I’m more aware of my bag, and surroundings, etc. going to CDMX soon can’t wait. What month did you go and how was the weather?? Thanks in advance!
Sorry to hear that! 😔 We went in the first week of August and it was rainy in the afternoons!
Hi!! I absolutely love your vlogs! Would you please be able to share the link for the Airbnb you stayed in? Thank you! 🌟🌟🌟
Thank you so much! :) Here is the link to the airbnb: www.airbnb.com/rooms/1042016491797080302?source_impression_id=p3_1728135168_P3xka_SXxGjvSk8A
I think El Moro is overrrated. The best churros I've had are across from the plaza in Coyoacan!
Loved this beautiful vlog, very aesthetically pleasing. My father is from Mexico & would always go sight seeing with him, but I had no idea all of those cute places were there. Definitely going to check these places out next time I go ❤
Thank you so much! ☺️❤️
You definitely went during the summer/rainy season. The clouds open up at the same time every day.
Can you share details on the Air bnb’s? Really enjoy your video. 😊
Thank you! Yes here it is! www.airbnb.com/slink/5F5wuk0t
Great video !!! How often did they shut off water in your Airbnb during your time there ?
That Airbnb was incredible!! Was that super expensive?
New Mexican subscriber here!
I loved your vlogging style, so cute! Love everything you show bc I feel like that’s what I do when I travel haha you went to a some of my favorite places! Keep it up girl!
Thank you so much! 🥰❤️
I’m so sorry about the robbery 🙁 I’ve been to Mexico many times but I’ve gone to the country side where my parents are from and I’ve been DYING to visit CDMX this video is PERFECT and has inspired me to book my trip for next year 🥹🫶🏼 if you don’t mind, could you please list the AIRBNB and hotel you stayed at? It’s okay if you rather not but I thought I’d ask! 🙇🏻♀️
Thanks so much for watching! :) Here is the airbnb link: www.airbnb.com/rooms/1042016491797080302
Thank you for sharing your experiences! Loved the video! My bestie is moving there soon so I'll will share this with her as well! Glad you and your friend are alright.
Thanks so much!! 🥰
@@MaddieTsangSure! 🥰
That was such a mindful and well researched travel vlog ❤️
Thank you! 🥰
Hi, I am glad you are ok after your experience in CDMX. I am Mexican and yes, I think Mexicans in Mexico are in general polite but they keep to themselves so if someone approaches you, be careful.
Could mention the name of the first Airbnb?
That poop story is wild, I’m so glad y’all weren’t hurt… and that they didn’t get actual poop to throw 😐
Girl same, if it was real poop I woulda been out of commission 😂
Great video and very informative! Sorry for the robbery but they do that in Europe too so now you are more prepared and knowledgeable.
Hello Maddie watched your Mexican video and I loved it ! Sorry about your robbery experience looking forward to more of your video's ❤ take care
Thanks so much! ☺️❤️
Thanks so much for watching! ☺️❤️
We loved your vlog!
Lovely episode...Lovely camera work, enticing sharing of all the delicious meals, and fashion to top it all with color and style. Makes me want to travel, travel, travel... and EAT!!!
Thank you so much!! 😊
@@MaddieTsang You're welcome! Keep up the inspiring work!
I’m so glad you guys didn’t give up after been robbed !!😅
La evacuación fue por un temblor. Lo cual es muy común en CDMX.
Ah thank you!
Hi Maddie, thank you for sharing that trip to Mexico, beautiful cafes and restaurants. Too bad about the robbery, just be careful. I saw your good taste on clothing. Beautiful dresses, jewelry and hair accessories. God bless you always. 🙂
Well done and interesting video! May I ask what you use to film? Looking forward to more!
Love the vibeees 😍
Glad u are ok !! 🤍
Do you think is possible to share the link of your first Airbnb? Thank uuu ☺️
Thank you!! Yes, here it is! www.airbnb.com/slink/5F5wuk0t
I heard of this type of robbery in Barcelona. I will keep a lookout when I go back to CDMX.
Not only México, USA also.
Such a cute vlog! Loved all your dresses. Where are they from?
Love your vlogs!❤
Please what dress are you wearing at 10:33 ? Its literally perfect im obsessed 🥹💞💞
It’s an old dress from Urban Outfitters! I don’t believe they make it anymore though :(
The moro place must have the best marketing agent in the world. Is like going to a starbucks and all "influencers" love it.
Link to the Airbnb please.
Great video! I had an aweful experience in Paris, France, where they pick-pocket my dad and we got almost scamed by the Eiffel Tower....experiences of the big cities around the world...
Subscribed! What a wonderful vlog of CDMX :)
Thanks so much! ☺️
How did you continue the trip without your credit card?
I had Apple Pay! Thank god
Oh and in florida for weeks it’s been raining hard EVERY day after 4pm⛈️ so i feel you
Ok rule number one when traveling abroad, always take a bag or purse that has a zipper and closed opening. Sad but true that you have to do this. Also there’s cute ponchos online that are light weight and clear so we can continue to see your cute dresses 😍
Great video and love you outfits!
Ur beatiful ando u have a good vibe , amazing vlog in México
