  • Long arm Jeep XJ rock crawling New Mexico with a Rustys Off Road long arm lift. We take our Jeep XJ rock crawler out to Rio Puerco New Mexico to do some off roading and rock crawling. Rio Puerco offers an interesting mix of desert sand and slick rock to play on.

Looks way better than some of the stuff we have here in Florida!

Steve is from Florida (Pensacola area) and agrees that it’s the polar opposite of it. Mud is actually hard to come by out here unless you catch it right after a rain and the terrain is totally different.

Thank you. We sat on this video for a while because we felt the same, unfortunately we didn't have any more new footage to put with it. We need to get back out there and do more filming.

That area looks like a blast. Really dig that XJ. How's the Rusty's lift holding up so far? Anything you would do differently?

The rustys lift is holding up great. It has been on the jeep for over 2 years and has had zero problems! I highly recommend it to others.

Are u running the 30 upfront with 37’s.....I’m running 35’s might go up to 37’s...how’s it working out?

I am running 37s with a Dana 30 however I have JK axles instead. The JK Dana 30 has a large ring and pinion than the XJ and therefore stronger. Also the XJ is lighter than a JK so the JK axles have that going for them as well. I've heard of guys going 37s with XJ axles but I've never tried it. I think a very large part of it will be your wheeling style and throttle control.

Thx for the reply..I’m running chromoly axles with a spartan locker.....I think I’ll try it..I wheel kinda like u ..I let the jeep bite and not too much skinny pedal...

The Dana 30 in the XJ is also trussed, sleeved, and completely gusseted. Highly recommend doing those mods for 37s.
