The chippie in the opening sequence does a decent steak pie, chips and peas.....although the best place for choice is the cafe/restaurant right next to the Spar shop - up the stairs. It will take you at least 10 minutes to decide what to have. My favourite is the home made cheese and onion quiche with red onion chutney....... Market day in Hawes is Tuesday. The creamery (cheese factory) is well worth a look too.
