I’m so over repeatedly crashing 3-400$ planes. That’s why I’m here. Agree this video is great. I have confidence in a much better experience on next flight.
One tip that helped me was whenever the plane is coming toward me and a wing tips down, nudge the stick in that direction and the wings will level out.

Thank you so much for the excellent training video. I tried to get started about 15 years ago and never was able to follow through. Work and other issues got in the way. I am now retired and trying to get my old equipment set up and will be following your videos closely. I think this will be fun.
Wow i just had my 1st succesfull flight after waching your vid. After many crashes I nearly gave up. then i started practicing on a plane app. Thanks so much
Thank you for a great video. I just acquired a couple old planes and haven’t flown since I was a kid. Then, my transmitter only had 2 buttons for left and right. So this video really helped me understand controls better for sure. My transmitters now have many options. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for your video, I just wish I watch this before my first fly with the cub s2 and having the plane running away, never found that thing je jee
This is a great video, I strongly suggest any beginner to get a simulator before actually flying any airplane. After just 4-5 hours in a sim you will have built good muscle memory, eye hand coordination and know what to expect. Another advantage is thst the sim is readily available for hours on end, while the real airplane's battery lasts 5-10 minutes. It is hard to learn on the real thing, inless it's gasoline, but then you get in other issues. Another thing is that there are trainers that are even better than these "Cessna" types: It's the pusher belly landing gliders, like the gws trainer or Multiplex Easy Star, etc. Having no landing gear is a big advantage for a beginner but also for the experienced because your fly site options are limited by the landing gear more than you think. Any flat field is good for belly landing but not necessarily for wheel landing.
Clear easy instructions, with practical tips narrated in an easy attitude 👌. I wanted to see what "bigginer" videos were like compared to when I started out. Facing in the general direction of the plane's flight, is a great way of syncing your perceived orientation to how the plane is flying. Especially when it's approaching. Helped me wire my brain to flying naturally. Any recommendations on good current rc plane sims?

Just bought a 6=channel tx-rx-servo. I haven't built a plane yet, but set up servos on desktop (really beginner level!). I wanted rudder-elevator on right stick (pull back for "up"), ailerons on left stick, throttle (pull back or push forward, haven't decided yet) on left stick. Realizing I might have to replan this layout, is it an OK format? With peddles on the floor and push-pull , turn left and right steering wheel (in a real plane), which is rudder?, ailerons? Thanks for the video.. So after significant quadcopter and drone experience (four channel of course) I got my first plane - a Volantex Sport Cub 500 4 channel. I've been watching youtube videos like crazy and trying out RF9 simulator and am confused about one thing - rudder. With quadcopters and drone, you use a combination of aileron and rudder in the same stick direction to complete tight turns. With RC planes, most videos (and even RF9 lessons) say beginners should not touch the rudder for turns and only use aileron with a bump of down elevator to maintain altitude, but folks on forums say it is mistake to not learn to use the rudder. Why? Is it easier for a beginner to complete turns with only aileron alone? Is the ideal way to use a combination of aileron and rudder in the same stick directions like I do with my quadcopters and drones? Do more advanced RC pilots complete turns with combined aileron and rudder? It would not be a stretch at all for me to do turns Thanks for any input!
I have my students start out by flying figure eights over the field, making their turns away from the pit area. This gets them used to making both left and right turns plus they won't accidentally fly over the pit area if they can't finish the turn before crossing over the runway. Also, when the plane is flying toward them, I don't have them look over their shoulder. I have them face the plane, move the aileron stick toward the low wingtip and say, "Get up wingtip". This method also works when the wings are level. Just move the stick toward the tip that you want to raise. It also will work later on when they're flying inverted toward themselves. I don't really think left or right when flying toward myself.
Sorry I didn't see this video earlier. I wouldn't recommend any expo. The plane is really sensitive as it is. I recently learned on a Sport Cub S. Great little plane provided there was absolutely no wind... your plane was perfectly trimmed out... and you didn't turn SAFE off. I crashed it regularly and it hung in there. Great learning experience.
The first video for beginners, that shows how the stick movements affect the plane direction and speed. Excellent.

I just purchased an Arrow Bigfoot RTF never flown before wish me luck. Any adv.??
Nice tutorial
Happy days thanks 😊
I am going to be learning on the Cub SS; I'm thinking I want some expo on the elevator, ailerons, and rudder... what are your thoughts?
Sorry I didn't see this video earlier. I wouldn't recommend any expo. The plane is really sensitive as it is. I recently learned on a Sport Cub S. Great little plane provided there was absolutely no wind... your plane was perfectly trimmed out... and you didn't turn SAFE off. I crashed it regularly and it hung in there. Great learning experience.
Thx this is reassuring just ordered a traner and I am terrified
As a beginner I learned over controlling what's the biggest cause of a crash
WHAT TRANSMITER DID YOU USE
Wow, 😊 thanks
