Love that the Urquattro is getting some love. I have had mine for 4 years. Built 91 urquattro with sport quattro front and fenders, built rs2 motor etc, and the prices are going to get even more insane with all this PR. Cool that the new generation also loves these old cars :)
There's still a handful of us young people who are hooked on 80s and 90s VW/Audis. I'm 20 and have 2 MK3s and a MK2, almost bought an UrQuattro a few years ago but the guy wanted insane money for it and it had been sitting in the woods for over 5 years. Someday I'll buy one though. That and a 914.

I hope he tells her to drive like a robot on the test. I failed my 1st test because my driving wasn't completely formal or by the book. I pulled ahead of a stop sign then stopped because I couldnt see oncoming traffic back at the sign, but I was failed for it.
Holy crap I remember that shot of Ken holding her up by her feet and suddenly I felt really old. What a fantastic first car, great choice and excellent taste Lia!
This was my Mom's last car before she passed away suddenly in 1997. All black on black, manual, with 1200 watt twin 12" Cerwin-Vega's and a Harley Davidson sticker in the window....Such a snappy car to drive, Lia is gonna have a whole lotta fun with that.
Can't wait to see how this turns out. I think it's amazing that Lia is putting this much work into her first car, and that she chose something that cool to do it. I can only hope my 13 year old son is this into cars when the time comes. Ken is a legend for raising an awesome kid and making her work for it.
Seeing this in my feed made me choke up a bit... All I can say is thank you to the family for being his family and being the foundation for him doing... well, everything. Nothing but love and admiration.
As crusty as that Quattro is at the start, I'm not going to lie I'm jealous AF of your daughter. From what I've seen of her driving so far, she sure deserves it and I predict that she's going to go far, maybe even further than Ken in motorsports.
Every 15 year old dream to custom build your own daily! Really good for her too, like Ken said. Can't imagine anything more usefull in life. Good for her!
Yeah because ken supported her with his $ if he wasn't a driver she wouldn't be doing this at all, and she wouldn't have made enough to buy this car. So technically he paid for that car. And she's not even the one doing half the work😂 she's just another attention seeker. If she wasn't an attention seeker she would have done this quietly

I've been a gearhead since I was 9 or 10 when my big brother was in mechanic trade school. watching him work on and build cars over the years were some of the happiest memories of my life. It's been a pipe dream for me to build a car and this series will be my motivation to finally get started. life is too short to sit around waiting for the perfect circumstances. Congratulations Lia! Cool car to start with. You’re lucky you have the team and a lift lol. Flat on your back on a cold wet driveway with a floor Jack is how most of us got our start lol. Can’t wait to see this progress….
Keep your head up Lia! Stay Strong! Carry the racing torch for your dad! Keep racing you know your dad is looking down proudly watching you carry on his legacy!
Ken.. thanks for restoring my faith in humanity, our younger generations, and work ethic. Such a wonderful family, cheers from this former B5 S4 Avant owner. When the UrQuattro came out in those early eighties, I would read Car & Driver mag articles on that vehicle, non stop. Gunna be fun watching the build.. Oh, nearly forgot, an idea for movie night, ‘High Fidelity’ w Jack Black and John Cusack, speaking of ‘mixed tapes’!

That's one proud Father. 👏 Never forget the times you had. My heart goes out to the entire Block family. He will be missed by this Yooper at the Lake Superior Rally.
Mr.Block, you've had contributed so much to this car world including myself. I remembered when I was in high school, every time I walked by the DC shoes store I got so fascinated by the TV screen and the car that kept drifting and drifting on it, of course I ended up buying one of those shoes and fell in love with rally. I still have four pairs of DCs right now. It's so hard having to acknowledge the fact that you have passed away, the influence you had will keep pushing people into rally world for generations to come. Rest In Peace Legend.

Total Respect for teaching the kids how to work while still enjoying dad's success and resources - I think it 's a harder balance to strike than it sounds , and way more valuable than money or toys to building well-adjusted, positive adults in the long run. 💥DadModeEngaged💥 PS: The "dirty" side of KB's garage is nicer than any dealership I've ever seen. 🤣

it may become a daily driver for Lia, but i expect that some tube triangulation will make its way into the build, both to stiffen the chassis and to bring up impact safety to closer to modern or (smart) race (scca minimums) standard. i look forward to seeing the progress! cheers from BC, Canada!
As a fan I’m so sad we lost this man. As a father I’m glad he left his legacy behind because she is such a beast and seems to be so kind just like Ken . Ken is such a cool dad! Lia is such a cool kid too 😎. Love this kind of family vibe! I wish my family had supported any interest I had, every thing I wanted to do never happened... My family wonders why I struggle so much and am so down all the time. Learn from Ken parents, support your kids and push them to do what they love and stand behind them!!
Ken was at the top of the list as one of my favorite drivers not only because of his skills career. But because he pushed the limits to get the shot he was looking for and never lost sight of just having fun. He was in the top three of a very short list of people I would have like to have met in person. I’m glad he was able to go through the process of teaching his kid to drive as well as working on her first car. I’ve been lucky enough to work on my kids first car with them and know the pride that goes with it. I hope Leah continues to drive and build cars as I’m sure her farther wouldn’t want her to stop. I truly wish I could have met such an inspirational person as Ken was for so many.
Proud parent time there Ken. Great to see the younger generation, especially a girl, learning valuable life skills and not being afraid to get her hands dirty working on a car. While many of her peers will be glued to Instagram and getting their nails done, Lia's learning valuable life experience and having a great time doing it. Great to see that she earned the car too, a brilliant mindset to have in modern times where the luxuries we have should be worked for.
Shaq told his kds, "We're not rich. I'm rich. Two degrees to touch the cheese." I have to admit that I would be hard pressed not to spoil my kids. But this is the right way to go about it. Watch them grow and learn.

🥶that's a lovely car i want you steering wheel for my build. I'm building my 2001 audi a4 b6 1.8t and pushing 350hp with stock exhaust I.c and a k03s
@@burniemac1364 thanks. The engine, suspension etc was built by Hohenester Sport in Germany. It's a weapon for sure! Everything is also road legal. Good luck with your build!
@@topgunm what are you pushing if you dont mind me asking and torque injector size and are you running mafless?
I do all my own work I'm running 440cc green giants with a vr6 maf housing and getting someone Honda like top end 👌
So sad to think this is the start of something so great, and to see this legend pass before he can see it. RIP Ken, and my heart goes out to his family
Ken has raised a good daughter with great taste. Looking forward to seeing how your UrQuattro turns out Lia. Awesome first car project! ❤
I nearly died laughing when Ken said "take her driving test". Meanwhile Lia's slaying it in the Hoonicorn.
You realise the driving test is for road rules? Not driving skills
@@janeblogs324 I see plenty of idiots on the road who could use both. Lol
@@v4lhulme tbh i think it needs to be a lil bit of both
It's a smart thing too do though even if lia's father has millions it's a good lesson too teach kids that money doesn't come too you and you have too earn it
I hope he tells her to drive like a robot on the test. I failed my 1st test because my driving wasn't completely formal or by the book. I pulled ahead of a stop sign then stopped because I couldnt see oncoming traffic back at the sign, but I was failed for it.
RIP Ken. So sorry for your loss Lia. Your dad was wonderful
It takes a person who knows their stuff to appreciate cerwin vegas.I used to have house speakers and they were awesome
Thank you for sharing with us. May your Mother RIP 🙏🏼
making a tribute for this inspiration of a man. thank you for what you've became. rip...
Bruh it’s a family business at this point

@@nubbz91 I wouldn't even bother to engage Outlaw. Their lack of self awareness is astounding. I will quote "She's just another attention seeker", while they themselves are trying to post edgy comments to garner attention :D
Ken you have once again proven your rally legend status🙌🏾. Congrats on all the school successes of your daughter.
I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad in June of 2022. It never gets easier. We will all miss your dad, he was a hell of dude! Live life like he did and never fear anything!
Lia has a great attitude and I'm glad she appreciates old cars and her dad's history with them! So dope. Also, whoever edits these videos does an awesome job. I always get a good laugh out of them! lol
@@rustyshackleford5153 so sad. Condolences to his family. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
My heart hurts due to the loss of a legendary Icon. Prayers and best wishes go out to the family. Kenneth will be deeply missed, this is a shock for the entire automotive industry.
Shout out to his family, peace and love
Can see how Ken be a proud dad everytime Lia tell what she want to do with her car.
@@rustyshackleford5153 why are you replying the same thing to all the old comments man? do you need attention?
Now I want to have a daughter like Lia. Or a son, whatever.
She doesn't even know what a tape deck is lmao I have no faith in humanity. Anyone born after the 90s will eventually kill this planet. They rely on technology way too much. And when their technology dies so does their knowledge.
3:02 hit me hard, and i started crying. My heart goes out to the Block family and friends. You will be heavily missed Ken. Rest in peace.
Crazy scene at 7:06 where Ken's shirt says "JUST DON'T DIE" in massive bold letters with his snowmobiles in the background.
That's crazy, I feel like he went head on into a tree and died that way. Others speculate a "Heart attack" but they say it's a "snow vehicle accident". Anyways, that shirt and the background is crazy foreshadow. If you keep it tame, you live we know that.
@@Refresh636 Supposedly he was doing a hill climb and the snowmobile flipped backwards and landed on his neck and he was stuck in that position till he suffocated. After all the crazy shit he's done it's insane a chill snowmobile ride is what killed him.
@@bryanciacco4181 Was this actually reported anywhere? I know there is one video on youtube with 700k clickbait showing a scene like that. A guy climbing a snow mountain, and the thing falls on him and a friend goes there ( the one videoing ).
I had wondered how it happened and wondered if he was wearing a helmet. I thought if in a helmet blunt force trauma to the head could be ruled out.
Such a dope car. Cool to see dad and daughter working on cars. She also seems to be alot more comfortable on camera now.
"JUST DON'T DIE 💀 43" Ken's t-shirt!
😩💔 Really feel for the Block family and friends. Your Legend will live on! Thanks for everything Ken! Keep on RIPping in the next life ... 🚙💨
She's got the skills, the attitude, and she's got taste!! Go Lia!!
I hope that one day i can have the absolute privilege of having a daughter like Lia. She is awesome and i love how Ken makes his kids earn everything in life. Those are the most valuable lessons. Great to see
Man, what awesome memories to have of your Dad though - and documented in series form. Treasure them as they’re incredibly special.
Total Respect for teaching the kids how to work while still enjoying dad's success and resources - I think it 's a harder balance to strike than it sounds , and way more valuable than money or toys to building well-adjusted, positive adults in the long run. 💥DadModeEngaged💥
PS: The "dirty" side of KB's garage is nicer than any dealership I've ever seen. 🤣
Let’s acknowledge the fact that in lia’s eyes, no one is more important than her father. He did a great job as a father including her in his passion, racing/drifting. ken block lives on through lia. His family is in my prayers what a tragedy.
Watched this three months ago and it made me super excited and happy to see .. today it breaks my heart. We lost a special soul that can never be replaced. Thank you for letting us be a part of your journey and life.
RIP #43
i cant imagine what lia is going through rn, i keep coming back to this video whenever i think of ken, rest in peace legend.
This will be so much fun to watch! Her energy is perfect and how she interacts with her dad is so much fun!
Watching this again brings me so many tears, not just a great driver, an even greater guy, and the greatest dad for his kids. I feel so much pain for the whole family. Everyone stays strong and keep moving forward. We all could see how proud he is. All the best and love for the Block-Family.
Lia will live on with her father’s legacy. Such a young talent, can’t wait for her first gymkhana! 🤘🏻
she has to do it, and im almost sure she will
Great Dad with great morals and you can see how proud Ken is of Lia too. This is going to be a great build.... so looking forward to it and hopefully it gives Scotty motivation to finish his GREEN Audi too 😋
I lost my dad suddenly and by surprise last year at 64 and he was like my best friend, it still hurts. I feel so bad for her as i know how she must feel losing her dad suddenly. I hope she gets through it.
Love the school first and earn-it philosophies, Ken. Respect and love to you and your family
Ken sure knows how to raise good polite kids- Lia is such smart sweetheart and a great example for other youngsters to follow, Ken should be very proud
As someone whose been watching u from as long as I could remember being on TH-cam. It's wasn't just his driving that made him awesome the way he dealt with others etc, his way of living was epic rip to a legend will always be #1
it may become a daily driver for Lia, but i expect that some tube triangulation will make its way into the build, both to stiffen the chassis and to bring up impact safety to closer to modern or (smart) race (scca minimums) standard. i look forward to seeing the progress! cheers from BC, Canada!
I like how Lia is not entitled for anything, she works hard to earn her place. Ken is a dream dad!

As a fan I’m so sad we lost this man. As a father I’m glad he left his legacy behind because she is such a beast and seems to be so kind just like Ken . I genuinely know that she will continue to get that pice of paper at the end of every quarter just so she can keep racing with you right there in the passenger seat.
I just know she’ll keep this car forever. It’s very special to build a car with your father. R.I.P to a Legend
RIP Ken Block. You were a great driver & clearly an even better father. Thank you for the great memories. Condolences to the Block family
Rest in peace Ken, you fucking legend. You have touched the hearts of the car community and proved feats that were deemed impossible behind the wheel of a car. May your daughter continue your amazing legacy. ❤ #KENBLOCK43VER
It makes me happy that hey could finish this car together it's so special that they could spend time on this. I know how much it hurts loosing a parent in my case was my mother, it's a big change in your life. I know she counts with every person her dad met and know that they will take good care of her.
Rest easy chief and most important stay strong Lia.
homie out here looking like a knockoff mechanic minion. i love it!
lia learning this side of things will give her the mechanical sympathy she lacked in the drags. great to see that ken is slaying the parenting game as well.
I'll never forget. we'll never forget . to the block family, your loss is universal. while we never know the pain you all go through, rest assured that this man is an international hero with nothing but respect from everywhere.
the best ones go the fastest.
will be incredibly missed.
Rest in Peace
Lia should take over the channel going forward. She's more invested in this than anyone could ever imagine.
Ken is so inspiring, so simple, life's unfair!! 💔 Rest in Peace LEGEND 😭
Deepest Condolences go out to Lia and all the family and friends that Loved Ken Block 💔 🙏🙏🙏🙏 What a Legacy he has built ! He will be greatly missed.
Don't lose sight. Continue to make your father proud! Make us all proud, carry his name and legend onward. I'm so sorry about your loss.
