It’s a shame how these recap videos never include the young Indiana Jones show. That series gave a lot of interesting backstory for him and even had a guest appearance of ford as Indy in a short story set between the original trilogy and crystal skull. And the show IS canon since crystal skull has Indy mention an episode.
In a comic adaptation of the Temple Of Doom it was said that when Indy was about to grab the Shankara Stones Rene Belloq was actually there at the same time.
I'm interested in seeing exactly how the omission of Spielberg in the new project will affect its canonicity, not necessarily its narrative continuity but whether people will even accept it as a "legitimate entry". The Jones films always seemed like a tight collaborative effort between Ford, Lucas and Spielberg in the same way Ghibli was for its founding fathers but the fourth one sees enough derision that many just outright dismiss it from series canon.
Maybe Indy will even loose one eye in Dial of Destiny to be in continuity with Old man Jones in the 'Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. Despite all the backlash that the 5th movie is bad. it would be a very nice and thoughtful deepcut if they'd do that.

Indiana Jones and the Deutsche Reichsbahn 9F. I’m really annoyed by the fact that Disney used a BRITISH locomotive for a German train. And the 9F wasn’t even around in the 40’s! It ruins the aspect of Indy being in Germany or a Germany controlled country because the BR 9F wasn’t even on the drawing board in the 40’s!
What do you mean? It’s literally titled as “the story so far” as a recap to help people either get a refresher or caught up before watching the newest movie. What did you expect?lol
Temple of Doom is a great movie
Kali MA! Kali MA. Kali MAAA. SHUK DEE DAY!!!!
its fun but easily the worst of the trilogy.
@@PC-tc5ie though, you could say the same thing about Willy.. 🤔
@@PC-tc5ie well, one of them has to be. Still a fantastic movie.

These movies are monumental to life
The first 3 maybe. 4 was garbage
sad that you guys didn’t cover more of young indiana jones. you missed out on so much crucial information
Indiana Jones and The Phantom Menace
Temple of Doom is amazing
You’re showing the wrong Fate of Atlantis. Seriously? You show the action game which no one played instead of the point and click game?
The story of Indiana Jones ended with The Last Crusade.
It started with kingdom of the crystal skull for me 😳😂👌🤙
@@NotionPicturesTH-cam understandable, nothing is perfect :v
This take on Temple is hivemind-esque, it's the only movie where Indy doesn't pack a suitcase which sets it miles apart. No contest.
Upvote if you are a Doom Head.
Raiders is a masterpiece

None at all
@@dboygamer8184 indeed. Saw it last month and liked it. But the eye would've been a cool deep cut easteregg
Does anyone know if the Indiana Jones novels are canon? Because a couple of those are actually decent.
Nothing not in film is canon , so only the films and the TV series in their final form sans the old indy end caps are canon
As a rule of thumb, I'd say if it doesn't contradict a movie, it can be canon.
@@TheDataWorkshop Ok
@@TheDataWorkshopthe old indy caps are canon
This is guy looking for antiques for so long now he is belongs to a museum
Great recap before the new movie!
It’s 18 years between 1938 and 1956 not more than 20
Star Wars Episode 3 and The Temple of Doom
You could have just left out the personal jibes and just kept it entertaining as it is supposed to be....
Agreed. I’m tired of folks holding up older art to modern sensibilities.

Couldn't keep watching after hearing such a bad temple of doom take.😤
Why does IGN block so many comments
You guys got the wrong videogame highlighted. Fate of Atlantis was a gem and did not look like that.
When he said "it's belong in a Museum", he meant it's belong in The British Museum, where half of the world stolen treasures went.
No call to Temple of the Forbidden Eye?
This is AMAZING 🤠

There is just 3 indiana jones movies
There are only Indiana Jones movies

This is not Indiana Jones! Kennedy need to get sacked
KK was literally helping make these since the first one lmao
@@minbari73she couldn't even do that right, according to Spielberg!
Really IGN? You need a 18 minutes long video for this? There were 3 great movies. End of story.
No spoiler warning?
