    Love the PVC pipe mold like so many others. I was searching shaving bar/puck recipes today. And viola yours is the first up. Sadly my husbands favorite shaving soap a 1.75" smaller diameter bar he has used his whole adult life and he's now 86 was discontinued in 2022. A single bar goes from 30.00 all the way up to over 55 dollars now. Talk about greed. Meantime he had no idea of course that this happened and he now is almost out. I was so frustrated I thought I might try making a DIY version. I'm not sure I want to get into lye soap but then again maybe it could be fun. I have a number of silicone shape molds and perhaps I could come up with a method to make several scents for those and also a near scentless for the shaving soap. Hubby's original was pretty non scented. He has sensitive skin. I use hemp oil pretty much same product to keep my thin brittle finger and toe nails from spitting and breaking. I use two times a day when I get up and when going to bed. So have that on hand and not all hemp oil is the same I use natural unrefined and cold pressed. No folks it does not have any pain relieving properties or chemicals. I am not sure about adding a scent even a masculine one. Hubby even at 86 is not into smelling fancy so to speak. We are both sensitive to scents and we both have sensitive skin. I'm allergic to many detergents and soaps on the market. That includes Dial everything across it's brand I break out in classic nasty rashes. And used to laugh back in my teens when they sold a baby bar that they also advertised the saying for all their soaps back in the 60's that it's mild enough for a baby. Yeah but not this baby, kid or adult. My family used Dial and my husband now over 52 years also is a dial guy and lucky for me when I have a bad reaction to a soap he's there to use up those bars of soap for me. I find this very kind of him because now and again I've had gifted a PRETTY GIRL Scent and he's still nice. His shaving soap however he draws the line he likes it clean natural scented. But really love the PVC and plastic liner technique. I'm sure I could find that 2-2/5" size instead of the larger 3" diameter that he needs to fit his very old shaving mug. Your soaps however are amazing and love their color and almost can smell them too. Someday they might invent smellsaTV. Best they don't. Thanks for your generous sharing today.

    I just love your video's!!! I have learned so much from you. The cutting of the tussah silk to melt it, a game changer for me. I just want to say "Thank You!" I really appreciate you taking the time to explain everything like you do. This wonderful soaping community is absolutely amazing!!!🥰

    I put tussah silk in all my soaps along with kaolin or bentonite clay. I am branching out to other clays to enhance the colors. I love your videos and the PVC is an idea I've been playing with. I have a silicone mold that keeps leaking. The liner is FANTASTIC!!!

    I just received this yesterday. Oh my goodness, the scent is wonderful!! To me, it smells a bit tobaccoy, not smoking tobacco, but just wonderful. This is for my son and he will get it tomorrow. It may smell masculine, but I like it, too. Your packaging is wonderful as is your presentation!! Thank you very much!

    Bentonite (Ancient Volcanic Ash) is wonderful for shaving and especially razor sensitive skin. Adding in the Aloe Vera and Colloidal Oatmeal brings it over the top. You always rock these! I will have to try that fragrance!

    Great video! I just want to say, Thank You so much for all the tips you give us fellow soapers. I have now tried a few recipes using 25% water, from my 32%, and it has made such a difference! Thank you so much. I tried goat milk soap the other day, with the water discount, soaped at room temperature and it thickened quickly.Should I use full water for goat milk soap?

    • @EllenRuthSoap
      @EllenRuthSoap  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks 💕 there are so many factors that can speed up a batch, I don’t think the goat milk is to blame for it all…

    Have you thought of using this scent in a shampoo and conditioner puck combo? I'm looking for a non-sweet smelling alternative for shampoo.
    I'm a truck driver and the change in altitudes always makes by shampoo bottles explode in my shower bag.

    • @EllenRuthSoap
      @EllenRuthSoap  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a great suggestion. If I do a shampoo bar, I’ll definitely keep a neutral scent in mind.

    Hello Ellen! I'd love to try making this soap for my hubby and friends to try here in the Dominican Republic but I don't see a recipe anywhere. Are you willing to share it with me or is there somewhere I'd need to purchase it? If you'd be willing to share it with me I'd greatly appreciate it as I don't intend to sell it or encroach on your business, which I adore! Would buy your soaps if you could ship to me haha!
