Painted pigeons at Dutch family park

The feathers of these birds seem to be dyed with some sort of (harmless) paint. Is this ethically acceptable to do this for human pleasure or some act of animal cruelty at the lowest degree? See and judge for yourself.

So cute! Nothing wrong with it. I used to dye my white doves just by adding food colouring to their bath water. They took a back and came out what ever colour I put in. It is harmless to them and they don't care at all. When they moult they go back to their white colour.

FOR EVERYONE LOOKING FOR A GENUINE REASON: These pigeons were obviously someone’s HOMING DOVES as you can tell from their tails. The owner has obviously used a HARMLESS food dye to colour these birds as they traditionally do - but not usually to this extent. It’s completely harmless and will just stain the wings of the birds for a while. The birds look healthy and calm.

What a lovely way to add a bit of brightness and colour to life. It made me smile. It doesn't harm the birds in any way but makes people happy to see them. All those people who think it's cruel need to read around a bit about real animal cruelty going on everywhere and do something to address that, don't get all upset about this harmless living art.

as long as the act of painting their feathers doesent harm the animals then I think its fine, heck I think its better. Pigeons are treated like rats wen in actuality they could make great companions and showing these colours could make people show more respect for them

I disagree,they made my face light up. In town centres there's usually pigeons following you about for a peck of your gingerbreadman when you come out of the baker's shop. But those things don't set an unjust image as "rats of the sky." They look all tropical and awesome, and Christ knows the UK needs some colour in the midst of all the grey,the white and the offwhite.
Disclaimer:if the pigeons are hurt or made ill by this procedure I retract that they should do this,but not that they look sick

@andysdreamland I agree. People should leave 'em birds alone. It's not natural for the bird itself nor for the people to see a blue, green, pink pigeon. The family park has been criticized, but nothing has changed so far.
