I was always wondering why nobody mentioned this reason to run tubulars so far in popular bike media. That’s exactly the reason why I still use tubulars on carbon rims. Safety for me and my wallet. Not just, that the wheelsets are lighter and cheaper, in case of a puncture it won’t destroy the rim and due to this the ability to handle the bike. Especially for rim brakes. I think that was the reason for bike industry to go for disc brakes, so that a carbon rim is less under stress. On the other hand I have to admit that it takes a bit more skills to deal with tubulars. So clincher are the best choice for everyday Joe. And it seems that hookless tubeless is the worst for everyone at this early stage of development.
they used to cover this topic a lot and talked about it a lot but in recent years for the average rider it's not mattered and for the pros the conversation shifted to the aero gains you'd see with a clincher and lower rolling resistance you'd find with tubeless.
What are we meant to think when Pro Mechanics say some tubeless set ups are unsafe? Why is the industry pushing a higher (retail) cost, more complex and less safe wheel/tyre technology?
Company buys another good company for £300,000,000. A few years later both companies are essentially dead and the name brought for £10,000,000. What a joke
ever since Brexit the quality of Wiggle and Chain reaction went off the cliff and their UI kept changing for the worse with more and more buggy inconsistent systems each time. it's a joke of a situation and a major shame both for the people who worked there and are now without jobs as well as the whole cycling market who'd rely on the websites.
The half gallon Sports Direct mug has usurped Haribo. Mike Ashley is becoming a major player in UK cycling with his purchases of Evans and Wiggle/ CRC.
Not much input from Stefan this week. I hope he’s not letting those jealous, hater low live, insignificant troll scum get to him. We all love you bro ✊🏾👊🏾
34% of a new bikes value is tax 20% vat & 14% import duty (due to brexit). Dealer profit 20% of bikes value then manufacture costs. If you fall for the marketing waffle and buy a new £10k bike you can comfortably say you are riding on a £2k build cost bike. Don’t get sucked into the latest marketing blurb you’re being taken advantage of.
on the Chainreaction/Wiggle situation ever since Brexit they took a MASSIVE hit to quality of services and I right away started saying they'll either go bankrupt or have to downsize till the get bought out. few years later and here we are, massive sales completely empty stock and layoffs with the company being sold off.
I just don't understand the benefit of this electronic torque wrench at all. It lights up for each torque setting (and only at a 1Nm resolution)? Seriously in no way better than an analog gauge one like the Silca Ti Torque or Topeak's own Torqbits / Torqsticks. I'm all for electronic tools when it makes sense. But this adds zero value.
My English and my acceptance for english accents are quite good, but the Favero part from Stephane was HARD to listen to. Can't put my finger on it, why, but I just couldn't stay on the plot there.
The Topeak torque bar is so bulky and unwieldy. What a stupid design and waste of resources. There are already digital torque head adapters in the market that are smaller and easier to use, why do they make such garbage?
Comical that narrow bars for women are basically non-existent for years, until this whole aero boom, now more and more bars can be found.

I run 28's on Dura ace C24 wheels, very happy.
Wiggle closing then it could be good news for local bike shops as customers return to bike shops to purchase

will sram continue release rim-brake groupset?
Just ask Joseba Beloki about tubulars not coming off the rim.
30 back 28 front FTW!
Sports Direct does Cycling, Fraser group buy Wiggle/Chain reaction.
When is the new term tub tubular or a
sew up

That digital torque wrench looks like overkill

new red actually means old unsold red repainted and youtubers bribed to say how good it is
The issue with the tyre coming off was hookless, not tubeless… As you know!
It was the mechanic
BS, tires coming off till they were invented.
cool that the kid from stranger things and harry potter got together to talk about cycling

the guy on the left reminds me of the voice of Beavis and Butthead
Polygon makes a really affordable Dura-Ace bike
Its better to make your own bike then to buy there and to have company logo 😂
No offence... The guy on the left reminds me of George Michael.
£8000. "It's not cheap".
Really?
Pls for god sake stop talking left one. No offense but you are really hard to listen to.
Yeah, they deleted the comments of, yeah, people complaining, yeah, of that guy. Yeah, like that is going to solve, yeah, a problem. Yeah.
Presenting is not his talent. Probably better to stay behind the scenes.
