Really enjoyed that, seeing a venue I know from my youth all the way up to leaving ‘the north’. I used to fish different sections, but really nice to see you have a good session on there and once again show how simple pike fishing can be with a roving approach. I wish I had more confidence to try it on the massive lochs up here on the odd trip I do, usually I end up bait fishing. Oh and ‘it’s not a sex toy….’ 😆 all the best.

Went down the canal myself the other day. Had quite a few bites and lost a couple of fish. Only managed to catch one pike of 7lb and shame I didn’t catch any perch. Sometimes it’s not even a matter of getting older. It’s just that big man upstairs could be a bit more selective as there a lot of horrible nasty people out there he could have picked on but always takes it out on the good ones unfortunately.. I’m sure he will appreciate every little thing that you are doing to make an effort. It goes a long way but it really does. Awsome video Paul. My lure fishing has gone dead since the first cold snap few weeks ago. hopefully pick up again once high pressure comes in the prey fish move more then the predators will follow🐊🎣great capturin kes love kestrels

Shame the cold weather has spoilt your fishing mate. You need to find that area where the bait fish have loved to for winter as that’s where the predators are now also. Yeah love the wildlife when I’m out. Kingfishers and kestrels always bring my a big smile when I’m out 😃

Jim it was Cahira Nitinol wire in 12lb single strand. Can get it from the Riverpiker shop in various strains. I’ll try and remember to explain all my gear on future videos! 👍

I could do that and maybe retire on the profits and then just pike fish all day, launching my boat from the jetty in the edge of my log cabin in the middle of nowhere. Fish all day catching big pike and maybe musky, then retire to a nice warm fire…..hold on a minute that sounds ace, why don’t do that! 🤣🤣🤣

Titanium leader but you can use steel also. I had 18lb braid and 20lb titanium leader

What size rod reel combo you using here. Also why kind of leader. Is it a wire trace or fluorocarbon?

@@riverpiker can’t beat catching pike on the light gear. I have a dam yagi rod and pike on that are a quality fight even the smaller ones.
