Good on yer Paul! Another fine outing. Rivers are karzid here also, so I’ve managed to get permission to fish a carp puddle that’s got 31/2 pounders and I’ve seen pike to 12-15. My heart is at the river but it’s got to be done. Over the years you’ve taught me a lot and like yourself, my landing net is open and ready when I’m fishing, non of that fannying about many favour. Great stuff as always👍 You’re doing fine with the vid titles, but I am subscribed
Same pal rivers are shocking round here. I could go deadbaiting and probably a chance of a fat mama but at the minute I don’t fancy it. Might have a pop later. You sound like you’ve got a nice little water to have a crack at mate. Could be some good fishing there keep me updated.
Weathers been brutal this year mate but its been good year for big fish. Glad to see you back out and about never expected you to stick around 💪 hope your good mate good watch too
Hey buddy hope you’re well..Yeah mate it has been brutal and exactly that but great for big fish. From my point of view I haven’t had the urge to go fish the big fish spots. In years gone by, some of the times the rivers have been unfishable it’s made me fish other places and my big fish catches went up. I could probably have done the same this winter but I just didn’t fancy it. Plenty of time for big pike, always next year hey!
Nice fish. I had an accident last November 16th 23 I broke my back, I had just bought a bfs baitcaster rod & reel. Im in the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit Glasgow, I've been told I might be getting out in 8 wks, one of my goals is to wet a line by the late spring so fingers crossed I'll get to use my new gear, I bought a shit load of soft plastics and jigs, I actually went a bit crazy, you know what its like? A kid in a candy store springs to mind, so as long as I don't catch any monsters I should be ok in my wheelchair, I'll get beside one of our few canals in Scotland soon. You've put me right in the mood. Its finding the Sargents thats the hard bit. All the waters are over fished. I might even go to a fishery for trout first. Look forward to your next video.
Speedy recovery matey and hope you get in to a few nice fish when you get your and out. No rush to be up and running too quick mate and yes why not get on to some easy fishing first.
Yes matey I do. Most of the time I will do straight retrieve and that’s what gets the jacks. But as in this video, no pike showing so I switch to fluoro on dropshot and get bit off straight away!🤣 on my super light perch rod I have 6lb wire and it does mean I can ch the pike rather than being bitten off.
Have just rejoined my local club after a long absence and their rules state when lure fishing regardless of the species fished for a trace must be used as there are pike present in the waters. I have some 6lb wire traces, would these be ok for perch luring or would it spook them?@@riverpiker
Lee I know what that’s like mate. I’ve dropped on a few perch spots and it’s been the same. I got lucky that I tried somewhere totally new and bagged up. Have a look on google maps see what you can find near you, you never know!
Only been doing couple years and I worked hard to find some spots then had success need to be bit braver and push out step out my comfort zone I fish some of the same water as you as we aren’t to far away from each other
Mate that’s the way to do it: I sometimes end up fishing the same water over and over because it’s easy. Nice to try new places and go see what I can find. Plenty of blanks on new waters too but every now and then I find a gem

Not many lakes allow you to lure fish which is a shame, you done well there pal they all came pretty quick 👍

Wishing you a speedy recovery
Likewise, wishing you all the best.

Lovely bit of perch fishing. Some very nice fish too.
Yeah mate I enjoyed that. Really nice to get in to a few fish like that. Made a very nice change to chasing the pike.
Enjoyed the video cheers.
Glad you enjoyed it Lee cheers for watching matey
I can't believe your tactic of straight retrieve is producing so many fish. I haven't caught a fish all winter 😂
It’s all skill mate 🤣🤣
Just shows difference when you find some un pressured fish eh bud.
awsome video. nice perch🎣
Cheers Adam. Loved that bit of fun, nice change from chasing the pike
Thanks for the video, Paul. Which LMAB rod is that? Happy with it? Cheers.
Hi bud. Yes very happy it’s a nice little rod, looks nice and fun to catch fish on. It’s the La Moustique 2-10g
@@riverpiker Cheers, Mate. I’ll probably ‘invest’ in one for a bit of canal perching.
Great fishing Paul not sure about Cas bud 🤓🎣👍😂
Me neither, and it’s all refs fault! 🤣🤣 cheers matey thanks for watching and good luck with your fishing matey
Great Video. When you are jigging for perch and there are pike in the water do you use a trace at all?

@@stevewest4750 if they aren’t fished for too much then the wire won’t put them off at all. I even catch perch on 20lb plus wire 👍
Cheers for the advice matey, hopefully will put it to good use.@@riverpiker
I love the turds ❤
🤣🤣🤣
Hello,
Very nice video and amazing Perch; where about is the pond? Would love to try it once ☺️🎣
All pegs would be full if disclosed 😂I would keep it to myself also.
Quality fish again I can’t get a bite on lures at the minute been real tough

Where's your landing matt !!!
It’s not concrete it’s wet grass. Fish are perfectly fine other than the sharp pointy hook I was using! Do you use rubber hooks? Well you should!
@@riverpiker I'm not cruel I don't injure animals for fun !!!
@@jfi368 just pulling your leg buddy. Get your point about a mat but honestly the wet grass is fine. Cheers pal
