Thank you. Your explanation of the difference between recoil and muzzle flip was spot on. So many “you tubers” are confused and misinformed. I own CZ’s that are comped, Bul’s that are ported and Sig’s. I thought that I wanted a Glock but the PSA Dagger is going to be my next purchase for my collection. Your video solved my dilemma.
Preach it brother. I’m tired of hearing people talk crap about comps that have no idea what it is doing. Great video thank you. I have all of the daggers and enjoy them in my collection.
I went with the shorter, non-comped base model Micro. My thought was that the comp cuts in the slide would be dirtier and potentially allow foreign objects to enter the gun in a field setting. I could be wrong, but that was my reasoning. Also, since I've been shooting tiny micros for the past 12 years or so without issue, I didn't see a need to have a comp on a carry gun. I considered picking up a G19 MOS (for better capacity) or a G43X MOS (for its size), but the PSA pretty much negated both of those in terms of size, capacity and price. It was the perfect combination of features that I was looking for and still offered the simple mechanical Glock design, that allows for single-tool disassembly, easy maintenance and a huge aftermarket. I got the pistol, a few mags, a red dot, holster and a couple boxes of ammo for the price of a Glock. It's my primary EDC.
If you’re asking if it is functional? Yes. But not to the degree that many reviewers claim. It CAN be noticed, but it’s not significant. A ported barrel or a ported barrel plus comp will be noticeably more effective than a simple expansion chamber milled out of the end of a slide ahead of a shortened barrel.
@@jeffm42o I appreciate that, Thank you. I’m glad you liked it. I think PSA did a good job with these and I hope they continue to be reliable over time too.
The stock Micro mag release is interchangeable from right thumb release to left hand (left thumb release). The stock release has a slot to fit/slide the spring if you want to swap it to a lefty. I just tried it on my Micro frame. The hardest part is to release the spring from the slot on the mag release. Once you do that, take out the mag release out and put it in from the other side. Then put the spring back into the slot. Easier if you have a set of picks to get the spring out of the slot on the mag release.
It's a P365 xmacro comp. Eh, I'd rather have the full barrel length. Velocity is more important. This isn't a competition gun and that to me is the only use for porting. I don't think shaving 2/10's of a second off your spit times helps in a defensive shooting.
Can’t really argue with you there. I can’t think of any data that shows split times in a defensive shooting was a major factor. It must play into some at some point, but who knows. For me, I like having a ported carry gun because I want my shots to be as accurate as they can be under any circumstances. So if I do make the decision to followup quickly, I’d like to have that additional aid helping me do that to the best of my ability at the time. But is it making a life or death difference from a stock gun? Almost surely not. And that’s why I felt it was important to discuss the fact that ports do not replace skill. Training and practice will yield far better results in speed & accuracy than modifying the gun.
@@AtoZEDCreviews I'm not good enough for it to make a difference, lol. It would be like me handing you a $600 driver and if you never played golf, it would not change your score 1 stroke. :) I appreciate the video anyway. It is always good to learn a new perspective.
I think about it the same. Smaller guns are already compromising ballistics with the shorter barrel, so I’d rather take full advantage of what’s there than having it “recoil less” (come on, it’s 9mm, you’ll be ok)
@JRod-p07 you're not missing out on barrel length though, the g43 has a longer barrel than the original p365 and the s&w shield+ You're already getting the length of an average micro pistol barrel just adding slide length to accommodate the "ports"
@ I understand that, but if I’m gonna carry around a slide made for a 4” barrel, I’d rather carry a 4” barrel than a 3.4” barrel with the ported slide. I’m already dealing with the larger size, may as well benefit from better ballistics.
I've got the compound mine and it doesn't do s*** I have the exact same one you have. It goes into full auto when it feels like it. It doesn't reset when it doesn't want to. None of the safety's work its Not that great. To be honest and I put 1200 bucks into the d*** thing, and I'm not very happy with it. My deal is that I'm honest.
@@mikehardison6486 ok, you make it sound like you’re warning us all because that’s how PSA manufactured this particular version to operate like that. No. Yours is defective. You know that, right?? PSA has a lifetime warranty. They will replace it for free, or purchase a glock firing pin. They're not garbage, that is a common complaint. I've hadn't had issues with any of mine, but have a spare just incase.
If you do, do it it for the size reduction with this being much slimmer and easier to carry. Definitely don’t do it because you think it’ll perform as well. The Radian Ramjet works VERY well and really reduces muzzle flip a good deal, but the expansion chamber type of “comp” on the Dagger isn’t anywhere near as effective. It makes a small difference, but not even as much as the same design on the Sig P365 XL Spectre Comp. And even that is still only a small improvement. The radian on my MR920 Is a significant improvement.

Are you using stock psa internals? I just got one but seen it being recommended to switch to glock internals
@@leonellopez-r5u I'm using the stock internals. Haven't had any issues yet.
I ❤ my C-1 it has 43x internals, Apex trigger, Holosun 407k, mag well, and a Houge grip.
Amazing breakdown… I don’t usually comment, but this was a well put together video… very informative… thank you
I appreciate that, Thank you!
The recoil reduction is AMAZING, I haven’t tried any other comped pistols but I will be buying another now thanks to this great budget gun.
got glocks ...daggers...sigs....the Dagger is pretty dagnab good
Love the intro song brother! New sub. Loved the video and insight!
Thanks for the sub! I really appreciate it. More to come soon, working on lots of range footage for a more well-rounded review process
So comp slide without comp barrel is not gimmicky? Looks so good!

I do like the p320 style grip area points to Psa that sig lost out on

Yep, I write the lyrics and use AI to perform the song.
do any metal glock frames work with this?
What trigger is that? I just got a micro c1 and I would like to upgrade my trigger.
Tell us !

Do you or anyone by chance know of any way to make it left handed compatible with the mag catch
