Wow that lady and her daughter were adorable..I could sit there all day and listen to them talk about their daily lives.
Yes they were very interesting how they hand crafted things. I wish I had asked about what it was like in winter, if the whole town get blanketed in deep snow.
Thanks for watching.
This series just keeps getting better and better!
It's great to hear you're enjoying more of the series, thanks for watching.
@@RanjanSkyline I agree!☝🏻
I’ve seen a lot of Himalayan videos but this one is EPIC. Great work Joe😮
Thank you for the support mate, it is greatly appreciated, it does enable me to do more of these journeys.
It's great to hear you are enjoying the series, I hope you enjoyed the rest of the series, thanks for watching.
@ Joe, I have to ask you … What was that boiled wheat based wine like? I can imagine a real sour mash. Also, if you do a 2025 Calendar (just in time for Xmas / New Year) it would sell. I’ve thought about buying some prints but I want 30 of them. There are websites (Snapfish) where you load the photos and the end user can buy the calendar with them. In that way you don’t have printed stocks. Anyway I was going to say shinny side up but Himmi getting dusty so rubber down. Cheers
@@gctimefadesaway The girl said there were many steps to go so I did not get to partake in the wine drinking haha
You are a great videographer, great narrator and even a good man 😁
Thanks mate, it's great to hear you're enjoying the series.
Each week I keep thinking that this is the best episode yet....I do think this one had the most amazing terrain though. Makes you feel humbled with the power and variation in nature.
Yes definitely this one was different, when I was riding I was think how could I explain this, but there are just no words to capture the feeling of moving through these mountains on this day.
It's always great to hear you enjoyed the episode, thanks for watching.
So true. Just keeps getting better and better. Like fine wine
That's my dream right there. Going all over and seeing temples and monasteries on a motorcycle.
#Goals
it is an incredible place to ride and explore. I am doing a video at the end of the series on riding in the Himalayas for the first time what I learnt and other information that might help people who are thinking of riding there. It might show you that it might not just be a dream but something you can do.
Once upon a time,The whole thing was under the water. What a view
It is an incredible place and where ever you look there seems to be an incredible view. Thanks for watching
Joe u look like a gladiator in the amphitheatre of towering mountains and u have the whole place all by yourself 🤗 . Just incredible man 👍
It was an incredible track to ride along, the mountains, the valleys everything was just other worldly. it's great to hear you enjoyed the episode, thanks for watching.
Hi Joe, wow what another wonderful ride absolutely picturesque this country. I wish I had two legs. I would be back over there doing it in a big way. Unfortunately lost a leg above the knee in 2018. India looks such a wonderful place to travel around and the people are so nice. Anyway keep up the good work I can only Travel through your eyes , Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺, I’m on the big island 🏝️
While riding that track I was think how on earth can I explain the feeling of riding through here and I just couldn't, there is no way to articulate it. So many different and unique landscape.
It's great to hear you are still enjoying the series Cliff, as always thanks for watching.
Hi Joe, the adventure on planet Earth, 😆hh, it's wonderful, you have one of the best videos you've ever made.
The scenery is superb and the editing is superb, and keep up the good work.😘😘👌👍👍👍👍
Thanks mate, it's always great to hear you enjoyed the episode. Thanks for the continued support of watching.
My gosh, stunning. I am a rainforest girl myself and didnt think I would fall in love with rocky barren landscape like this but wow, its stunningly beautiful in its own right x Thank you for sharing this with us. And the drone footage was gold standard!
Yes it is stunning, like the vastness of the outback of Australia the barrenest has its own beauty. And just some of the formations of the rocks in the mountains is mind blowing. But next trip I'll look for somewhere with a rainforest 😁
@@freewayproject oh awesome! I cant wait for rainforest series lol
You outdone yourself on this one. The people, the scenery, simply Marvelous, say that out loud like Billy Crystal used to.
haha I can hear Billy now. Thanks Pete, it's great to hear you enjoyed the episode and as always thanks for watching.
22:00 maaaaaate!! That is shot if the year!!!
well with no one around (I wouldn't be bother anyone) I thought I'd try a couple of things. It would be hard not to come away with a few good shots in that landscape.
@@freewayproject The effort you make to get these shots isn't lost on me either. Nice work.
just mind blowing....i was there in 2022, riding a hire scooter...the scenery is so incredible you feel like you are going to explode with appreciation
Yes it is definitely something you need to experience for yourself, standing amongst these giants. Thanks for watching.
@@freewayproject thanks for showing us. I'm trying to build my confidence for riding dirt tracks so watching you is helping me feel closer to riding them
Truly the best episode of the Himalyan series. Ive watched a fair bit of videos of travellers crossing but none comes close to your pics ands videos. Thanks and enjoy Bud
Thanks Sean, it's always great to hear you enjoyed the episode and yes i think this one take the cake for best landscapes and fun Indian short cuts.
thats for watching.
Ok that RE repair shop was epic! 10 minutes and back on the road?! I'm showing this video to all of my local bike shops for inspiration.
haha, oh I'll give you an bonus on top of that, for the part and labour it was $8 AUD. I think it has taken me longer in a drive through to get a burger haha.
I hope you enjoyed it, thanks for watching.
Those road builders look like they have a hard life!
it does look like really hard slow work. If you noticed I rode past tents on the side of the road, that's where they sleep while doing that job.
This episode probs more than any yet shows the earth is alive breathing and evolving
Awesome
I think you're right, the mountain where it looked like it had exploded out of the ground was crazy looking.
Thanks for watching.
Joe, episode 9 and every one of those episodes the Himalayan scenery has blown my mind. Each episode the watch gets better and better. What an amazing Motorcycle Adventure you're having. Marvellous Joe! 👍😊
Yes when I think I have seen it all, I ride around another corner or into another valley and something new and unique blows me away. It's the trip that keeps on giving. As always thanks for watching.
Even monks aren't immune from doom-scrolling lol.. makes me feel better
haha. yes I was surprise the monk scrolling away. I hope you enjoyed the episode, thanks for watching
@@freewayproject Loved it, also my dream to ride in that region
Joe, another great episode in the adventure of a lifetime. What I love about your videos is that you are such a gentle story teller. You take us on the adventure with you and share your genuine excitement and love of what you are doing and what you are seeing. Thank you for sharing your world in such a beautiful way.
It's great to hear you are enjoying the series Neil. I find life is pretty damn good, I don't need to add drama to it. Also a place like this makes it exciting as you never know whats around the next bend of over the next pass.
Thanks for the continued support.
I wrote this on another channel, in reply to someone saying he doesn't understand the obsession about Itchy Boots.
@elwood62
I agree with you on itchy boots & I've watched around 30mins of her in total. She was the first vlogger & female doing the real long distance adventure stuff & because of that she was highly publicised around the world. From then on has become a worldwide name in adventure & motorbiking...just her name mentioned & newbies want to check in on her vlogs, be it for her, the bike she's riding or the adventure.
She's not for me, because in my opinion her vlogs are poor, especially given the time she's been doing it.
I see no attraction & I'm gobsmacked that millions do.
Joe Ryan is doing the same as she does yet superior in my opinion, a likeable soft spoken guy, a photographer on an adventure bike showing us amazing sceneries & more...
Yet because he's relatively new to it compared to I.B & a male, he's not grabbed the limelight/been given the exposure.
If he was the first, there's no doubt he would have got huge publicity.
He's the best at it, in my opinion & I love him taking us with him on his adventure travels.
Not ideal at all... but what incredible footage of an amazing landscape. This trip just keeps giving so much grandeur and disbelief. Thanks mate, I really appreciated this one.
It's hard to get across the feeling riding through this section so I haven't tried, but it was pretty special.
as always thanks for watching.
That was one of the best Joe, I am blown away by the road quality out there in never, never land, just amazing scenery ..... RE are going to love you for this series that's for sure ....... I was actually in Sydney on Wednesday night at the launch of the new Guerrilla 450, I was one of the first in Oz & NZ to order one & got an invite to the launch at the new RE flagship store Moto Machine ( great shop ) and an awesome bike, I mentioned you to some of the guys from RE & UMI & they all knew about your adventures ..... so keep it up mate ......🦘🦘🦘
oh new bike that's awesome, time to ride. Yes the guys at RE & UMI are great.
It was an amazing track to ride through so many valleys and mountain passes. Thanks for watching.
Now some people would say how boring that landscape is,but I found it absolutely fascinating even breathtaking. But again the camera wouldn’t do it justice as you said about the scale of those mountains.
How much better can it get Joe. 😊
As always a pure pleasure to join your experience ✨👏🫡
Not boring at all. Infact every corner throws up something different here.
I was going to try and explain what it was like riding along that track through those valleys and passes, but there is just no way to do explain it. Just one of those things that has to be experienced.
Thanks for watching Geoff.
yes I'm always thinking what will I find around the next corner.
Felt like I was watching a movie. A cliffhanger? Love it. Ride safe Joe.
Thanks mate, it's great to hear you are enjoying the series, thanks for watching.
I wanna go back and just do some of the stuff you did! Lamayura was fun. Magnetic hill isn't worth the stop. Alchi Monastery is a must see stop fro Leh to Lamayuru. Thanks again!!!
It great to hear you enjoyed the episode, Yes Lamayurua was cool to see the moon landscape.
Thanks for watching.
Can not get enough of your beautiful storytelling! Thanks for the effort, greetings from Vienna
It's great to hear you are enjoying the series, thanks for watching. I have not been to Austria for a long time, I wonder what it's like to ride through.
This has to be one the best videos of this majestic region out there.. I recently did a 3k kms ride in the mountains.. visited the same RE service centre for repairs.. brought back some good memories.. love your videos and pictures.. ride safe Joe.. looking forward to the next one..
Thanks Sam, it's great to hear you enjoyed the episode, that RE service centre was hectic but they got the job done so quickly.

Ladakh's a biker's pilgrimage , like a meditation in trance music !!! , like a ride in the dreamland. if someone hasnt ridden in ladakh they have missed a lot then.
It definitely is an incredible place to ride and explore, the further I ride the mover amazing things I discover. Thanks for watching.
Ladakh has this enchanting aura around like a strong magnet which wants to pull you towards itself all the time. its hard to explain , but people who have ridden or trekked this majestic wilderness solo or even in groups would know of it .
Yes there was a moment when riding through there that I can not actually explain the feeling but it sounds like you know it too.
thanks for watching
Brilliant Joe. Plenty of bridges and now your are showing off with your u turn skills🤣
Loving every minute.

Exactly, I always see totally different things going back and well those Indian short cuts are a lot of fun to ride.

You're just teasing us now Joe LOL. Our planet really is amazing
Oh i had no idea what the valley was like, I was as blown away as you. the planet is an amazing place as you say. Thanks as always for watching.
I think your videos of this area are best I have seen, and I have seen a few from others. Just amazing.
It is a stunning area to ride through and explore Colin, I was going to try and explain the feeling but I just couldn't put it into words, the footage is all I can do and even then it still feels it doesn't capture the experience.
It 's great to hear you enjoyed the episode, thanks for watching.
So to my complete surprise, that was epic. Of course it was because you just seem to find more when we thought that was it. Wow, is all I have left in me. Thanks once again Joe, for a fantastic ride 🤩
Oh I was surprise about that track too, I thought it was going to be sealed the whole way and a cool looking valley at the end, but it was so much more.
I was going to try and explain what it felt like riding through there but there just aren't the words, it one of those things you have to experience.
It great to hear you enjoyed it and thanks for watching.
Wonderfull video and narration, I'm a french guy and I dream when I watch your film, it's beautifull, and I like your way of thincking, you drive accross the country whitout any fixed plan, you follow your feeling, your mind, I really like to travel as you. I have a project to drive the same areas n'est year or in 2 years. I Will be enjoy to discuss with you when you Will be available. Thanks for all, ride safe.
It's great to hear you are enjoying the series, it is an amazing place to ride and explore. Yes to roam around is the best way to travel. I am doing a video at the end of the series which I'll go over what it's like traveling through the area for a first timer and what thinks I learnt and so information that might be helpful.
I always wait for Ryan on Friday and Charly Sinewan on Sunday.,,, Gem of a ride mate, I know you are enjoying. Its been a long time since I was there.... Your journey videos brings back the memory. Your photos are stunning. Juley. 🙏
Thanks as always mate. When I think I have seen everything I come around another corner or over the top of a pass and there is something stunningly unique to see, it is an amazing place. I am having an epic time exploring this incredible region.
Amazing again Joe. Wish the motorcycle service was that swift down here in Tas 🤭
haha yer it was mind blowing, oh I forgot to mention it was $8 for the part and labour.
As always thanks for watching.

Thanks Mel, It was an incredible track to ride along so many unique landscapes. Thanks for watching.
I like the relaxed pace Joe is riding, taking in all the nature. I never heard the bike Rev up pr saw him thrash the machine. This terrain and this scenary is to behold, absorbed and taken in slowly. Amazing ride and greate narration Joe.
Well I am here to explore and take in the places people scenery, so going slower means the more I can take in. Also I have a dirt bike at home to go fast in the dirt when I want to do that kind of riding.
It's great to hear you are enjoying the series, thanks for watching.
Lamb burgers...never had one, but probably are not to baaaaad...😁 Nothing is finished till the paper work is done. 😔 I watched many content creators do trips on the same bike ans same roads.....but through your eyes, as a photographer, they are completely alive.....you have a gift.....great video and always look forward to yours. haha, yes was not to baud. Oh so you're been to India judging from the paper work comment haha, they love a bit of paper work.
It's always great to hear you enjoyed the episode Garth, thanks for watching.
Epic. That geology is insane, love it.
Yes so many different formations on the same track, it's an incredible place to explore.
Thanks for watching.
Very hard to believe there are roads through those narrow canyons. Wow to say the least!!!
Yes it is, I gather they would have started a just trails you navigated by foot, and may have used horses to carry supplies. Then someone has come along and said yep I think we can get a road in there, where everybody else probably looked at them with the expression "are you nuts" haha
Thanks for watching.
Your end-screen stills are, as usual, sublime, but the one at 31:58 is simply extraordinary in terms of light, shadow and depth of focus. You have such a fabulous sense of colour-grading in your photo editing. Kudos.
Thanks Pippa, I finished editing the episode and thought sweet just a few images to sort, but there were just so many it tool me way longer haha there were a bunch that I did add as well. As always thanks for watching.
Best time of the day, a new video, awesome trip so far. Love the visuals. Keep it up from NZ 🏍🏍
I hope you enjoy this episode. thanks for the continued support.
Another great video Joe!
The views really are spectacular over there. Love the footage you took with the drone of you riding up the mountains, really showed the scale of how small you are in the landscape and the conditions of the road.
Looking forward to the next episode. 😊
Thanks, it's always great to hear you enjoyed the episode. Yes the one thing that is hard to capture is the scale of everything here.

More amazing places. That gorge is fantastic. They certainly know how to put some roads into difficult places, and I imagine they only have a few months per year to work on them. Cheers,
Yes, imagine seeing that narrow gorge the first time and going, yer we can make that work. And yes such a short time to get the work done, you have to wait for winter then come back an repair any damage the winter had caused the continue on.
As always thanks for watching Neil.
Finally Friday 🥳
I hope you enjoy the episode.
Amazing countryside over there, Joe - very well captured 😎👌
It just gets better and better hear.
Absolutely incredible! I found some dirt and shingle roads a couple of days ago. The Rainbow Road is open this long weekend but we have a family get together arranged. Weather does not look like it will be playing ball with either option though. Might just have to get a kayak wet instead.
Thank you again for the support mate as always it is greatly appreciated.
It was an incredible track to ride and explore on. it's great that things are opening up again, well if not the bike then the kayak sounds good, just being in the great outside in New Zealand is amazing.

Hardly any cell phone screens or smart TVs can do justice to these videos. U atleast need 24m x 16m giant theatre screens to watch videos of this photographic class and of such astounding scenery.

Plenty of pictures, for the pool room in this one Joe.

Fantastic Joe. The drone following your ride was epic. Thanks again....
Thanks mate, there are a lot of restriction of drones in the area, there were no military in this section and long period between people so I thought it was safe to use. The drone is the only thing that kind of give a bit of sale to the place. As always thanks for watching.
It didn't disappoint me too. Thanks once again for ur beautiful visuals.

Another amazing series Joe !! Growing up in India, this has been my dream trip to take since the time we heard about "big boyz making this Leh Ladakh trip in a RE" and me being in school waiting to grow up and make this trip :D .. Here I am living in AUS and admiring a fellow Aussie taking the dream trip .. You are very inspiring in a way, taking the unknows like a piece of cake , travelling through Himalayas without a pre-planned itenary :) Even many Indians dare do that.. Great going !! Would like to meet you one day and learn a few things..
Thanks mate, it's great to hear you are enjoying the series. I think riding through there 20, 30 years ago would have been a lot more adventurous and a bigger challenge, now I think it is accessible to most people how are competent on a motorbike, if you can make it happen I would definitely say do it.
I am going to do an episode at the end of the series about what it's like as a first timer riding there, what I learnt and some information that might help anyone who is thinking of riding there.
As always thanks for watching.
True that , I'm sure your videos would be a solid reference point for many and surely for me to find those unexplored tracks. Looking forward to the next one!
Fascinating Joe - I was thinking you must have gone through a week before me and was going to get through to the Zanskar Valley, but like us, got turned back. Reliving the WanLa to Lingshet road was great - we rode it mostly in rain. Another of the roads to Zanskar was also closed - a big boulder rolled out of the sky landing on the bridge and breaking it, so we ended up having to ride all the way back to WanLa/Lamayaru, never getting to Zanskar and Padum. I look forwards to your next video, as the town of Lingshet was one of the seminal events of my life - I hope you get there.
We must have been there with in the same week, a bit of sliding doors. It was an awesome track to ride, I stopped so many time, just stunning.
Thanks for watching
WOW Joe !!!

Great video, I went from Padum to Lamayuru less than 3 weeks ago and watching your video brings a smile to my face. I must say though you don't seem to have much luck with road closures etc. The day I rode was in brilliant sunshine through Singela pass and then Sir sirla pass. Yes, that asphalt was laid by BRO as we traverse the route.
Thanks mate, it's great to hear you enjoyed the episode. I went through in August, apparently where I got to the guys there said it had been blocked for a week. My timing was just a bit off, but it was an incredible road to ride, as you know so many unique stunning landscapes along that route.
Thanks for watching.
