While I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be low ELO but they output good damage with the daggers not even the tracking attack of dagger it's a pretty balanced kit
I've had this happen in-game; I dropped a Dagger Storm healing dome *on* Groot, Hulk, and Star-Lord during a fight, and they bugged out like I was trying to off them myself. Either that, or the entire team scatters in all directions to chase kills, leaving me to get lambasted at the mission point.
I always have people walk out of the bubble when it's in a perfectly good location, but I had one the other day where I put a bubble down on a punisher, he stepped outside of it, and put a turret down... literally just outside of the bubble.. and then died so quickly because he was only being healed from my M1 💀
@@snr1299 I just try to predict where they're going to be and throw it there, like a choke point or even behind a Tank I know is way too far up and will be retreating very soon for natural cover.
Wow, a C&D guide that actually taught me something I didn't already know just from playing the game! Specifically, I was unaware the ult stacks with itself; I've just been drawing triangles, but now I know I can layer it for survivability if needed. Many thanks!
My biggest wishlist item is Cloak’s veil activating faster. I’m dagger most of the time….if I hear “MAXIMUM PULSE” it should be **theoretically** possible for me to middle mouse scroll, then right click in time for me to veil I can’t tell you how many times the death replay shows me 5 start up frames of my veil right before I die😭😭
After testing it you can counter iron mans pulse. You just need him to be slightly far away. If he is too close you will die just after switching to cloak. If he has some distance, ie in the air, you can just barely switch to cloak and use veil. It's really close but doable.
Great guide. Only thing I'd add is be warry of getting stunned out of your ult. You can also ult in the sky from your cloaking ability making it harder to get hit out of it and the effect still lands on the ground. It will also stop you from getting stuck on the ground by hitting stuff or things like stairs. Your cloak ability will be off cd if you need it after the ult. In the survey I gave them feedback to adjust the cloak ability for your teammates because it is kinda useless for saving them as it stands. Glad to see other C&D players finding this as well!
Found out the hard way today the ult falling thing doesn’t work on map changing tho 😂 if the map changes and a platform drops, it just stays in the air. The map can also eat your ult if it moves a platform up
Thank you for the guide. I'm so glad you addressed all these things, teammates are what holds the character back. I love playing Cloak and Dagger but it's frustrating when my team constantly runs out of the healing bubble or doesn't stand in my ult. Slowly I noticed more people are understanding, maybe there's hope that people will learn *crossing fingers*.
Your lil mini rant about character selection/anxiety/netflix watching is the most relatable thing I've ever heard lmaooo. I just went through said process with Magneto, ranking up, then proceeding to get pubstomped 40 times, then, in desperation -- finding Cloak and Dagger to be my new savior. Thanks for this guide! Really hadn't thought to mostly save bubble for escapes, but now I feel like a dummy. I had been trying to use cloak to just counter them with damage and I was largely using my ult to escape, but I realize from watching you that it's far more useful to have in other situations. Ty again!
Me with Mantis right now, I get MVP every other game with her but I want to learn other strategists in case someone else instalocks Mantis, but I'm not familiar enough with other chars to feel confident in dealing with situations and my gameplay falls short. So here I am watching a Cloak & Dagger video 😅😅
i haven’t even watched the video yet but thank u for making this. i can already tell this is gonna be more in depth than 90% of other CD guides rn just based off you saying that you’re not even gonna go over their abilities. i swear every “guide” on the game rn is someone showcasing a character’s ability with maybe one tip about them and then a 10 minute unedited non commentated gameplay of them on the character and it’s so frustrating. can’t wait until we get more high quality rivals content in general.
i was right lol, but i’m so glad i’m not the only one most frustrated by my teammates not understanding CD’s kit. my teammates getting decloaked when i would’ve saved them is beyond frustrating. never considered trying to play as bait rather than always attempting to save others though, will have to try that out.
Great video, a few things i would like to add 1. You can animation cancel your walls by switching forms 2. Switching forms as dagger reloads your weapon
People still shoot Zarya's bubbles and now Iron Fists block, they'll never just stop shooting and reloading in Dark Teleportation. Use it to get yourself out of trouble first and foremost.
I have been exclusively playing C&D for a week now and this is the first guide video with stuff I didn't know in it - excellent tips, thanks very much!
Wow, I’ve been mainly one-tricking my way through matches with C&D and this guide blew my mind with how much I didn’t know. I’m so excited to go home and try all of this stuff out.
I did not realise that shooting/reloading breaks the cloak. Thats why its felt so inconsistent where I’d use it and a teammate standing right next to me wouldn’t be cloaked and I’d have no idea why
The amount of people that dont know to stand in glowy sphere is ridiculous. I find myself playing c&d jeff and luna because of teamups, the seasonal buffs is one of the coolest mechanics to add to a game like this imo
very informative and funny video. the ult stacking on top of itself is kind of crazy. one thing i would be curious about is how any damage boosting abilities (like mantis) effect different heroes ability to kill someone standing in the 3 stacked area
Buff I'd like to see: the healing and blinding shield thing should pass through objects to go the max distance every time. I've found that C&D is great at managing tempo. The blind and healing bubble are just great tools for thwarting aggression and/or initiating aggression. Being blind AND vulnerable is hard to deal with especially if your DPS/tanks are following it up.
This character is so much fun. I am consistently getting 20+kills, few deaths, and 20+ assists even while being top healer in winning games. bonkers character. I am just always front line swapping character and using all abilities when off cooldown. there is no point trying to communicate with these randoms. just do what you can and keep cycling all your abilities and you will be fine. I usually save the bubble and cloak for myself to survive and just always spam shot and walls then I use shadow for base attack when picking people off
Omg .. the diatribe on not being good enough and dying over and over again is how I found you. All i keep saying is “ i suck”… good points . Save yourself first, healing bubble , terror cape and repositioning necessary. Best video I’ve seen on her yet
This is the first time I bump into your channel. Amazing guide! Lots of stuff I had no idea of, and the bit at 10:50 - 11:20 was just too funny. Subscribed instantly!
I have been loving Cloak and Dagger ever since I started playing and this is a fantastic guide full of really great tips! I really appreciate the detail!!
There’s a nasty rotation with Cloak and Dagger. Bubble for me is first things first. Any tank or frontline is getting my bubble. Then healing and letting my tanks and dps push the choke or the point. After that switch to cloak when your opponent tried to push in and hit his darkness veil. Do as much damage until you start to get too much damage or need to rotate to the back for healing or to heal. By that time the bubble is good again and cycle through that process with some variation to situational awareness. But this video was good and had some really helpful tips regarding the ult to get better . Thanks I’ll drop a sub
Super helpful guide, just picked up the character today and I'm enjoying her so much! I always saw insane C&D players and wanted to try out the character myself. Then after a few wins I was like "holy shit, what was I doing up until now?"
I will had one thing for the healing part. You can ricochet your attack to your allies. It will auto lock on them. And you are not obligated to stack your ult. Just one layer + healing bubble and your good.
This is the first “character guide” i’ve found for marvel rivals that wasn’t blatant clickbait with zero useful information and was just basic gameplay. Thanks for uploading an actuslly edited video.
Came for the character guide, stayed for the relatable self-deprecating humor. Very helpful stuff! As a DPS main that's decided to pick up 2-3 support characters, I learned so much. I had no idea the ult healed for that much, or that it could stack high enough to completely nullify so many damaging ults. I also didn't understand that the cloak effect fades on reloads too.
I just started playing cloak and dagger today and they’re so fun! Glad I saw this guide, it’s definitely gonna level up my play. Looking forward to more rivals content from you!
As a Fellow one trick, except I don't play comp... I would add Turning on Healing Notification on your Crosshair. It makes it much clearer when you are actually hitting your teammates, or hitting enemies. Everything else is really good and helpful. Helpful when your shooting a wall trying for the bounce healing. The confirmation is nice.
OH! and the Team up with Moon Knight is not that he becomes invisible in your bubble, it just gives HIM an extra ability he can use to stealth. We don't control it at all. I kept trying to bubble Moon Knight thinking I could see him be the enemies maybe couldn't? but they still know where the bubble is sooooo why would we use it like that? Only then when someone beat me to getting C&D did I try him out and finally understood.
this is a great tutorial! Im a casual player so i felt like some of it went over my head, but still really helpful and comprehensive! I wanted to try them out because i love Luna Snow but was concerned about aiming. I think my biggest problem at the moment is i basically only use dagger and need to be more aware of when to switch over and use cloak. Hopefully this will help next game!
Great guide!! I’m loving this character so much! Literally tell my team before the match starts to stay in my ult lol. They are scared of it. Almost wish it had more light(healing looking) animation
the most unintuitive point of this character mentioned is how she has the AOE healing on her primary that is nearly as powerful as just healing a person directly....so it seems her damage is shit until you realize you can be hitting the enemy with your autoaim attack and having it also heal your team mate at the same time....put it in a better light
I love the versatility of cloak and dagger. On my first day trying her one match in particular was so hectic that I didn’t realize I got 45 kills and 40 something support by the end. Had to clip it for my roommate.
Best guide. I also use Cloak when allies are being too passive to encourage a push. This would be when my ult is down say and they're just sitting at the back. Dagger primary should have a crit chance maybe...
Love the guide, I usually use the ult to dash to the enemy backline and kill their strategists. But it's nice to learn a few more defensive uses for it.
i like to use cloak to fly up as high as possible and ulti from the air since the pool spawns on the ground no matter how high you are u can get to the backlines pretty good like this, drop healing bubble on you when you land and dps the backlines and by the time the ulti is finished and bubble runs out you can cloak invis away again. try it :)
I think in the setting there is a healing indicator and you can turn it on and it will glow green on your crosshair whenever you heal someone. hope this helps
omg, i didnt know you could change from cloak to dagger with the scroll wheel. thank you soo much for the guides video! this is exciting! hopefully you can learn mantis next bc im not seeing much guides on her besides people explaining what her abilities are, which i can find in the game so yeah.. LOL.
C&D were the 1 healer I couldn't get the hang of because I felt like I wasn't using their kit properly. Knowing how I should be trying to use each ability is a big help.
The way I've been so desperately trying to understand why my cloak never seems to properly protect my team... this whole time i thought it was because of elevation, but it's because they're shooting or reloading 😂 thanks so much for sharing this in depth guide, much appreciated!!
10:36 I've argued with a buddy who plays rhythm games about whether this is actually faster or if it's an illusion because the reaction time in that part of the hand due to skill/biological issue. He said the the way the nerves in the hand are set up, makes using the pinky feel 20ms slower, and that that part of the hand isn't used as much, so it has a lower reaction time from lack of use. (Compared to a frequently used pointer on scroll wheel)
I don't know the console controls, but on PC, the V key is a melee attack for every character; fairly useless, but a decent last ditch effort if all your stuff's on cooldown and, say, Iron Fist is in your face.
Okay this video hit home! I main C&D, and the number of times I’ve had to yell at a dying tank to step forward TWO STEPS into my healing bubble is insane. They don’t want to heal 😭
I've been playing Cloak&Dagger... I never even noticed the trail on the ground from ult, and I didn't realize that was the source of dps and heals, I thought I had to pass through people. They really need to clarify the ability tooltips more.
Super comprehensive guide! I love CnD, but it's my first time playing a hero shooter and I'm on console. Rn, I'm struggling to time the cloaking at the right time to avoid Jeff's ult. Also, I keep getting tempted to play Mantis bc everyone says she's the best strategist. What are your thoughts?
Oh dang, I didnt know the ult is more healing than dmg. Now Im going to stack it with my team! I tend to do what you say, use that ult in a triangle on the point and stay cloak to get some dmg in. Thanks for the video!
Earlier today, I had a Moon Knight that ran away from me AND the objective WHILE I WAS HEALING THEM!!!! I started playing this game yesterday and have played Cloak & Dagger from the start. The problem with solo queue is that I don't really know if there's a way to see that I am actively improving in the game. It's been two days, and I've already had 1) A rando swap onto my main Round 2 in a best of 3, forcing me to swap between Heros that I've never played before (which resulted in an overall net loss and complete annihilation on the second round for a match loss), allies running away from the light wall, missing out on crucial healing before dying, and, of course, the aforementioned Moon Knight that ran away from both myself and the objective back to spawn as I was actively throwing healing daggers at them. Despite ignorance, incompetence, and trolls, I absolutely love playing this combo, especially as someone who has never played these PvP team shooters before. The mechanics are noob friendly, while the duality of characters and strategizing makes it a good challenge. I've gotten a couple of triple kills already, and just wrapped up a ranked escort match that we won 5-4 after being down 0-3 from Round 1 and a two minute disadvantage in rounds 3-4. Moments like that really make me love the game and want to go back for more!
Omg thank you for telling us that thing about cloaks dark teleportation I was wondering “ok I know my friend was in my thing why did they get eaten by Jeff”

C&D were the 1 healer I couldn't get the hang of because I felt like I wasn't using their kit properly. Knowing how I should be trying to use each ability is a big help.
Nice guide!
"Their playing every mindgame they can, just like your ex" was absolutely great 😂
The way I've been so desperately trying to understand why my cloak never seems to properly protect my team... this whole time i thought it was because of elevation, but it's because they're shooting or reloading 😂 thanks so much for sharing this in depth guide, much appreciated!!
11:20-11:30 the silence here obliterated my sides
10:36 I've argued with a buddy who plays rhythm games about whether this is actually faster or if it's an illusion because the reaction time in that part of the hand due to skill/biological issue. He said the the way the nerves in the hand are set up, makes using the pinky feel 20ms slower, and that that part of the hand isn't used as much, so it has a lower reaction time from lack of use. (Compared to a frequently used pointer on scroll wheel)
That makes so much sense
probably a silly question but, at 0:09 you did a flip kick thing with dagger it looked cool how did you do that?1
it’s her melee
2:30 "let be honest they probably aren't going to listen to you" story of my fucking LIFE
W vid keep yapping i love it
Perfect timing 😭🖤
That part with serotonin is too real 😭
Omg thank you for telling us that thing about cloaks dark teleportation I was wondering “ok I know my friend was in my thing why did they get eaten by Jeff”
I learned a lot from this thank you
yeah NGL, the team comp play right now with each hero and how they play around with each other is very new.
