  • THE COST OF OBTAINING ELECTRICITY IN GHANA
    In this video we are discussing the cost of obtaining electricity in Ghana for your home. Electricity in Ghana comes from ECG (Electricity Corporation of Ghana). The process appears straightforward, but the reality was quite different for us. We got there in the end, watch the video to see what we went through. Hope you enjoy this one.

      Thanks. Do you have any experience of ECG yourself? - Someone in the comments said he paid 10,000GHs which is outrageous (even though it included 2 pole extension).

    Agree, it's annoying. As Kingsley mentioned, it's embedded in our culture, somehow. Some will just frustrate you, I don't know what some really think 🤔 really. It's sad.

    Sis, the " backdoor " process in doing things is rooted in our culture. It's about time we start naming and shame them on social media. Get the name of the corrupt official and let it fly. One backdoor official at a time

    Just watched your very informative video from 10 months ago. As if often the case in Ghana, not everyone’s experience is the same, and what happens in one office may be different in another. I collected the form from the local ECG office (in my case, at Mampong, just north of Aburi) for free. They completed the inspection, meter installation, and wiring from the nearby pole in exactly 17 days.

    I don' t think it's a big deal to TIP, the worker before he asks , they are not being paid according to economics living standard in Ghana. Most workers in Ghana don't have good pension at old age .

    • @kingstal90
      @kingstal90  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree, but TIP is not compulsory, its a choice and if a customer decides not to tip, they should not suffer as a result. I know people who haven't tipped and waited almost 3 times longer and that is ridiculous.
      I do see your point of view to some extent though.

      @@kingstal90 I remember meeting up with a friend at an Asian restaurant and after having a drink, the owner asked me to tip. I couldn't believe my ears. I was paying with a debit card and when I looked at the amount I was paying, I saw it was way up than what I was supposed to pay- he said the tip is included. I mean, seriously. I was so shocked. Ever since that experience, I have been extra careful. Some people are just crazy. And it happens not just in Africa, but outside too. People may not realise it but it's there;
