I purchased my systems part by part not as a package and was able to build two systems. 1 220 and 1 to support my 110 appliances all for under 10,000 usd. I shipped it to Ghana piece by piece to avoid high tariffs. I can say that I have 10 ,000 kva and an additional 5,000 kva all for under 12,000 usd including installation fees and shipping. I don’t have an ecg meter because that has been a struggle so we have been living on just solar power and battery backup and if we need we also have an 26,000 KWh generator we can fire up. We are urban off grid by force because getting an ecg meter seems to take political intervention or large envelops if you understand Ghana.

I think you need to buy your hybrid inverters from China as well as the battery. I was able to get two 10KW Hybrid inverters for $1500. Most ROHS battery which Ghana uses, are reasonably at about $1200 for 5KW battery which you can then scale by adding another later and then another as needed. I was given a 100,000 cedis panel quote and now I am thinking of getting the monocrystalline solar panels from China

I just checked Victron Ouattro 2x10KVA inverter chargers 120/240 parallel configuration, Off-Grid, 51.2KWh server rack batteries, and the price is $33200. It includes Victron MPPT RS450V/200A, Lynx power in, Lynx distributor, Lynx shunt, Cerbo GX, Panels and all the cable and fuses and breakers. So shipping, duties, and installation and margin would be $7000. Victron Energy is a lifetime investment

Greetings, all. Peace and blessings to you. Thank you, Asher & Gad channel for your construction videos. They are, indeed, informative and thought provoking. After viewing your solar panel "cost vs. benefit" update, I was led to ask about your familiarity with solar/geothermal hybrid systems. As the air conditioning of homes and buildings constitutes the greater portion of electricity usage, the installation of a geothermal cooling loop would significantly reduce the extent of investment in panels, batteries, etc. to sufficiently equip a building. These systems have been in use in the US before solar was available. We plan to install a solar/geothermal system on a new build that my wife and I will be undertaking in the Cape Coast area in August/September. We would welcome your review of the install, once complete. Thank you, again.

I look forward to seeing this in practice. I’ve read about hybrid energy systems for homes using a combination of solar photovoltaics, solar water heating, geothermal heating and cooling, and solar-powered ventilation. Are there experts in Ghana who can install these hybrid systems or it’s a DIY project?

The net metering system is not being 'accepted' by ECG even though Energy Commission is 'pushing' it. My office have the bi-system in place and a software installed to manage the net consumption but ECG is frustrating the whole concept. More technical details I may not be able to share in public

When Ghana trade forces diaspora to shop in China do the realise that there is less money towards the infrastructure in building up the country. Then we complain about the poor roads, schools not equip adequately. Electric constantly going off no water supply in lots of areas please think not only long term but also for the greater good of the country my friends.
