    Please keep doing more of these tutorials. They are very helpful in learning the basics of logic and other bits. Thank you Neon!
    Do you take suggestions for future videos?

    I'm glad they gave us a early access to the Dream's I hope you will keep bringing us more of these great video's. I know you brought the early access and that we can expect more from you so please keep up the AWESOME work and I'll keep coming back for more because you are the one person I know who teaches us how to use the tools in Dream's to there fullest. I really appreciate all your time and insight in doing this video's. So please keep doing what you have been doing it really helps me and I'm sure a whole lot of other people. I think Media Molecule should give you a job so that you could make a living teaching us how to use the tool's in Dream's. You have become my go to guy for everything about Dream's and I've learned so much by watching you and I would like to say again thank you.

    can you do a tutorial on directional dodge-rolling (for example combining circle + the left analogue stick to roll in the direction you push the stick), and how to implement a stamina bar (Dark Souls style)?

    • @NeonTheCoder
      @NeonTheCoder  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hello! I will add that to the list! As for a stamina bar though I have a tutorial on a health bar! (it's basically the same thing so :P) th-cam.com/video/HuZOeNdYHYw/w-d-xo.html

    Seems like you may have explained the OR gate incorrectly. You said it needs both inputs to be 1 to send an output, which actually describes something like an AND gate. And you said it sends a 1 or 0. The OR gate actually just sends out the highest value it receives.

    • @ThomasGiles
      @ThomasGiles 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      BTW, any comments I leave eon’t necessarily be aimed at you, neon. I know you know all this stuff already. But they’re more to clarify for others watching.

    • @ThomasGiles
      @ThomasGiles 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      For clarification, the AND gate outputs its lowest received value.

    • @ThomasGiles
      @ThomasGiles 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The NOT gate outputs a real calue also, though the logic behind how it behaves is pretty complicated. It’s kinda fun trying to work it out though XD
      But as you say, most used to turn 0 into 1 and 1 into 0.

    • @ThomasGiles
      @ThomasGiles 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Neon, it seems your goto debug gadget of choice is the splitter. I’m curious as to why that is. A switch can show on/off, a value slider can show the actual value, and a sigmanip in custom remapper can show values over time. Is there a special reason you go for the splitter by default?

    • @ThomasGiles
      @ThomasGiles 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    @7:30 if the output of the OR gate changes on a scale from 0.0 to 1.0 based on the input, doesn't that make the output numerical and not a boolean?

    It's nice and all but without practical examples of what you can do with these logic tools it's pretty useless. You just showing that you can manipulate values and stuff but how does it translate to gameplay?

    • @NeonTheCoder
      @NeonTheCoder  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The only point of this video is to educate on terminology and what the fundamental logic gates are.
      I have many tutorials of actually using logic to make stuff on my channel, check it out!
      I only made this video as I don't want to explain what a port/wire/value is every time I make a tutorial, because there are people that ask almost every time.

    Can you make a tutorial on how to make a computer with apps and programs? Also a game console that you can interact with and play like an arcade or a gameboy or game system that would run on its own OS? And that you can link them to play with other player all within your game world?
    Example:
    You bought a game console in your in game open world at a shop and you take it home and set it up to play on your in game tv and you also bought a game CD or cartridge or whatever you want to use as a game storage device maybe a hard drive! Let's just say it's a cartridge and you bought that game console for it and you stick the game cartridge into the system like you would with an nes or snes or sega or ps1.
    Now when that happens you either start the game or you go into the system home menu screen where you can have other options like a ps4 or ps5 home menu! And if you want to you can link to game consoles or more or gameboy handheld type devices within the game world that your be able to have for other players to join you in your gameboy game! This type of tutorial I'm requesting.
    Example for PC:
    Well to allow you to own a pc that you bought from your in game world at a shop that connects to a monitor and other peripherals and your able to turn on and off and boot it up and you get your own desktop within your game world. Where you can make mini games and other apps that you can sell at a store or online in your in game world using the computer and you can also link it to other computers how can all this be possible?

    12:42 i dont see any change of value here? Shouldnt the not-gates be switched on and off?

    • @NeonTheCoder
      @NeonTheCoder  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It may be a graphical glitch I think they always look "on" you have to look at the wires. There used to be a debug tool that let you see the values of wires but they turned it off for some reason

    can you tell me how i can force my character to stop running when i throw a punch? the logic in this game is really screwing with my head. Cant seem to see anyway to connect something to a controller button which turns it off when activated

    • @MasterFeiFongWong
      @MasterFeiFongWong 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure if some one already answered this for you but I could venture a guess :D. I don't have dreams but I do have LBP 1,2,& 3 and some of the logic is the same. In LBP 3 to make an object come to a dead stop you can set an advanced movement chip to dampening 100% then you just put down a controlinater on the circuit board and connect the button that activates the punch/dampening to the advanced movment chip and make sure the advanced movement chip is only set to activate when button is being pressed instead of off on function which is like toggling. Just make sure the dampening effect is connected to only the body of character and not the moving arm.

    I notice your comments are a lot of requests, just as a human with curiosity, does this bother you? Or does it help you. You are in many eyes their guide to Dreams , i can see it being overwhelming or at times annoying. Just curious im not feeling well so this is a digression , forgive me.
    That was un related my apologies, cancer recovery and chemotherapy today has me foggy lol. I lofe your videos. They make a lot more sense if you play around with things or follow along. Messing around, with knowledge taught by you has helped in a big way. Anyone who thinks this is too much or overwhelming. Nothing is more rewarding than getting that understanding. Thanks for the time and effort in the videos , i really love that and appreciate that.
    PSN: Idle_Hour
    Kjp© employee account shared between the Desks by window in office. 4 people play on account mostly me. My nickname is J. Sorry for poor English, Japanese is my main language. The others who share PSN / YT account for NA are much better. I am still improving, haven't been in office in month since tumor removal. Again sorry for long comment i am the one who is into this more than the other 2 guys and 1 female.
    Once I stop being so neasus I'm going to continue to watch and share your guides. The human element is in the videos , and that subconsciously is pleasing. Keep it up, I can see you being a game development field . You seem to have the mind for it more than some people i work with who argue JavaScript is the future. I don't understand that statement but yeah lol
    I need rest sorry again for long scatter brained post-comment
