    The world’s tallest indoor waterfall has started flowing at the new Jewel Changi Airport complex in Singapore. The waterfall feature, which stands 40 metres (131 ft) high, is the central feature of the new S$1.7 billion (US$1.3 billion) mixed-use facility which adds 280 shops and food outlets as well as a hotel and IMAX cinema to the airport’s attractions.

      @@leongyet9896 Yeah there's this obvious sense that most Singaporeans are overtly nice to westerners but nasty towards other Asians, especially those from neighboring countries, maybe it is a rivalry thing, I don't know. And I also noticed some Singaporeans are eager to please westerners, to a point where it looks self-loathing, that stems from low self-esteem. I'm an US citizen who grow up in Taiwan and my parents were born in China, I'm fluent in Chinese and English, but I never felt inferior toward whites or any other race. I always feel proud and lucky to be Chinese. I don't understand why so many people have low self-esteem, maybe that's how they were raised and the environment they were raised in made it that way.

      在美流浪人 Gotta disagree with you really.
      I'm gonna assume your views on "SG identity crisis" are perhaps based on your limited exposure to Singapore and lack of real interactions with Singaporeans?
      For a country where 40% of the population are not even its citizens, how would you know and what could you tell? 😅
      But hey you're entitled to your opinion.
      Cheers. 😀

    • @jeremywck8757
      @jeremywck8757 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      在美流浪人 Your claim that “Singaporeans are overtly nice to westerners but nasty towards others Asians” is the exact experience that I, a born and bred Singaporean (of Chinese descent) experience over and over again in Hong Kong, UK, Thailand, USA, et al. Most of the “Singaporeans” you encounter in the service jobs in Singapore are nearly ALL foreign workers from: China, Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan, Myanmar.
      Our founding fathers made a conscious effort not to be financially indebted to any foreign country - for the fact that we do not, have not been and never will be subservient to them. Hence, Singaporeans are never “overtly nice to westerners but nasty to other Asians”.
      You grew up in Taiwan, of Chinese descent, chose to be a US citizen and yet claim to be proud to be a Chinese. You really do have an identity crisis. By the way, the US of A is the ONLY country in the world to label foreigners “ALIENS”!
