As a structural engineer I am still stuck at 'suspended foundation'. There can never be a suspended foundation, all the loads of building will have to end up into the ground. What you mean is suspended ground floor slab, by use of prestressed slab panels and beams. Terms really matter in structural engineering.

Most non Engineers confuse a footing and foundation. Two very different things.

I am sure you understand. It's not a matter of terms but what you see.

Engineer. This is just pier foundation.
Kindly give it the correct term for those who don't know what it is.
You can build even at sea or shore of the ocean with pier foundation

why not use square hollow column blocks for sleeving your columns ???

Man, I wish we had similar technology in Liberia. If i had the money, i would start a pre-fab factory in Liberia.

Why not run all the plumbing underneath the slab?

    • @emmanuelisanda1449
      @emmanuelisanda1449 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

That is how it should be done. Plumbing should go under the house. Looks like they're doing it wrong by pouring on top of it. Also there is no need to pour over the precast floors. All structures here in the US run their plumbing under the house. It is easy to detect leaks, fix and also for inspection. Imagine them tiling the floor. It will be a nightmare trying to fix anything.

a little shaking and those beams will slip from the foundation column. Load bearing chip blocks can last for 20years?

I think the ground underneath is dangerous in that it can be a home of snakes and other equally bad creatures. Why not fill it up with soil anyway?

At least you'll be housing other poor creatures who would otherwise lack a home...let's live in harmony with nature, wouldn't mind having wild park beneath me cutting cost of visiting a zoo or safari 😊 and would be a win win situation for all of us 😂😊

No, that is for plumbing but they did it wrong. You can box around it and close it up. It can also be used to run AC if you want to. It's called a Crawlspace which can also be used as an extra storage

what's the point of this video without dimensions of the floor and cost ? why are some T beams resting on tongue of blocks , Engineering point of understanding the dimensions of rebar should be at least 6 inches on both sides .The Grove of blocks should be filled up with concrete at both ends and a renbar in place .

Cost Sh 4,000/- per sq m . The Connections between precast elements can be achieved through
      Bolting
      Welding
      Grouting
The Method of Connection largely depends upon type of structure, seismic zone, availability of materials & hardware and skill set of site operatives.
