NO, I didn't dilute it. According to the manufactures directions I should use a vinegar solution with a 5% acidity level. You can buy white vinegar with different acidity levels so if you cant find a 5% acidity level already made you might have to dilute a stronger vinegar solution to be 5% or whatever % the manufacture of your water heater wants you to use. Hope this helps and thanks for watching. :)
@@KoalityofLife thanks found the rinai instructions as well. 2nd time flushing the heater, this video has helped both times as I can't remember all the steps.
@@GeeVideos Thank you, its nice to hear that the video helped out. Tell you the truth, I go back to my own video when I flush our water heater because I don't remember where I put the instruction manual for the darn thing and I cant remember what concentration to use. :)
I just tried this and the outflow isn’t coming out very strong. I ran it for an hour and a half. Do u think that my system is just so full of calcium. How strong is the outflow in to the bucket when u flush yours?
I would run your pump without it being hooked up to anything to see what the flow of your pump is, then hook the hoses from the pump to the water heater. The flow should be the same. If the flow is slower, it might mean the water heater is plugged up and might need to be flushed out for longer. Hope this makes sense and helps. Thanks for watching. :)
I'm only getting cold water from all of my faucets. I have a 5 year old Rinnai V75 that's never been serviced. Does this sound like what could be causing the problem? Are you in California?
Regular service is always good. I am not in California, I would call someone that is knowledgeable on tankless water heaters in your area, see if they can figure it out. I cant diagnose it without being there. Thanks for watching. :)
Do you know if anything will happen to it if you forgot to unplug it but i did turn it off on the temperature gauge and I noticed the water was a little warm when I was flushing it and I realized it was plugged in so I unplugged and now it seems like it's not producing hot water I live in Arizona and it's not clicking on don't know if the water's already too hot and my service valves are leaking now everything was working fine before him I guess this is when you stay if it's not broke don't fix it
Thank you for this very helpful tutorial. Question: 1) It has been over 4 years since my tankless water heater was flushed, should I let the flushing go for more than 1 hour or should I do the flushing twice or 3 times instead of just a 1 hour run? 2) Can the tankless water heater be left turned on at lower temperature while doing the flushing or it must be completely turned off? Thanks!
I would flush it until the solution you are flushing it with looks clean, this might mean flushing a few times with clean flushing solution. Just kinda depends on your water. :)
You could do that, my advice would be to record that and put it up on TH-cam to get insta fame. On the other hand, after owning this tankless water heater, I will never go back to a water heater with a tank. It is so efficient and we never run out of hot water. :)
I have that same heater on my house. Thanks. You should put the manufacturer name and maybe your model in the title so more people see it in the searches?
Lol you killed two birds with one stone! Go shed the water heater and made a ice rink 😂👍 I need to fix my system and put those bypasses in! Great video thanks man!

Do you add water to the 3-4 gallons of vinegar?

Great video mate 👌

I would try unplugging it for a few minutes, when you plug it back in maybe it will reset and you will get hot water again. :)
I had to take the inlet apart where the propeller is to tell it to turn on from vibration it was jammed with calcium
Hey so we don't have to turn off the gas valve?
I don't know what water heater you have but you do not have to turn the gas off to flush this Rinnai water heater. :)

So chaining my hot water tank to my truck, stepping on the gas to rip it out of the wall and installing a new tank is no good?

Those bypass valves make flushing the system so easy. :)
