    I'm glad I found this video. Thanks. The Guide System didn't come with any instructions and those screws used in the channel extensions had me stumped.

    After watching your various videos on these guides I finally ordered a pair from Banggood, plus a rail square. Wish I'd done it sooner as I've just finished cutting up 8 sheets of MDF of varying thicknesses for some fitted wardrobes. These would have made that whole process a lot quicker & more accurate. I only paid £56 for the parallel guides. Hard not to buy them, despite some moral reluctance.
    I've also been following yours & Peter Millard's videos on wardrobe construction. Keep up the good work!

      Jerome, do you have the Milescraft track saw tracks? I am trying to figure out if this product will work with mine. If it does, gonna buy it!!

    Excellent video very helpful. You can also use the guide rail connectors on the top t slot opposite the guide stops saving you having to flip it over to connect.

    Hi Ryan, the head and the bar that goes in the festool track saw is binding so I have to unscrew all for screw to get it moving! This lead to mess up the calibration. Do you know if bangood have upgraded the 2 small grey aluminium bars?

    Thanks Ryan for the set up guide. Came to put mine together today and found it difficult to fit the guide onto a Festool track. I had to fit insulation tape between the head of the parallel guide and the bar that fits to the rail to stop it binding on the track. However, not an issue and really pleased with them.

      @glenlown6374 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had issues with mine binding too, as soon as I left all the screws loose and started by tightening the alloy bar in the channel first, then the head to that bar, everything worked perfectly.

      @elliotcondon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Same here. Doesn’t fit a Festool track 😠

    • @glenlown6374
      @glenlown6374 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine is the festool, I found that you need to put it on the track loosely at first, then tighten the long bar into the track to set it in position, then tighten the red top section to the bar. Once you’ve done this the bar screws can be loosened and it slides perfectly.

    SO WHAT ARE THEY USED FOR.

    • @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop
      @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Doing multiple parallel cuts on sheet material.
      To get the same cut over and over, and easy to set up different measurements too 😊👍👍👍

    PSA- they do have an imperial version too, for anyone that's looking for imperial.
    Thanks for these demonstrations, especially for explaing how to calibrate them.
    I'm look forward to seeing a test of the rail square you already have and the new woodpeckers copy. Of course they started offering that new rail square right after I got my XL instasquare.

    Great video.
    Unfortunately my track doesn't have the slot on the top as you show in video. It is on the underside.
    I believe I can modify the tracks by drilling through the track to allow the parallel bar head screws to attach bar underneath.
    I will not be able to slide the bars, but with a few groups of holes I each track, it should be good enough.
    Keep up the good work.

    Just checked and my parkside rails don't have the t-slot track in them so this system won't fit. A bit bummed. I might have to upgrade my tracksaw if I want something like this. Don't know if my saw could be compatible with these festtool or makita rails.

    Hi, since this video is also advertised on the Banggood site. The guides do NOT fit on a Festtool track! Also not the improved version. Did get mine on the weekend. What you can do is put some 1mm shims between the red head and the bar that slides in the track. And also the precision is not that perfect. If you calibrate the guides it depends, what position the stops of rhe stop block have (the ones you have to put on the triangles). If you raise the stopblock (like shown in your video) and calibrate the guides the results differ from lowering the bar of the stop blocks. In my case the plastic head of the metal bar will now not touch the Square any more.

    I guess, if you use a guide rail square, you can make do with only one of these :-)

    Aye you might want to vary it mate, instead of parallel bangood bonanza videos every week 😅 that rail square at least to see if it's actually square for example

    Just an FYI for anyone watching this video, it doesn’t fit festool rails despite enjoywood claiming it does all over their advertising. They did seem decent but this makes them unusable, an annoying waste of time and money.

    • @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop
      @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm sure it can easily be adapted to work.
      I take it it's the bar that slides into the track?

    • @SimonDrysdale
      @SimonDrysdale 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @ I don’t think so. Even if it could be I don’t think I should have to modify a product that is advertised as compatible when it clearly isn’t.
      th-cam.com/video/0MGX-NPMDjU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DbzRiFNrBppF2oyA
      The bar slides in yeah but there isn’t enough clearance for the red attachment plate to slide on.
      Bangood claim I’m using it wrong and that I must unscrew the black screws to slide it over. So apparently I’m meant to unscrew four grub screws and take off the head every time I want to move the parallel guides. Even if I do do that, the guides don’t sit flat on the bench.
      To add to it, I requested a return and they’ve just been replying but dancing around the fact that I’ve requested a return, everything but actually processing a return so I’ve had to file a PayPal dispute.
      It’s a shame really, the machining is actually fairly good quality but they’ve clearly never actually tested them with a real festool track and their customer service and return policy is all for show.
      Just wanted to highlight this because if I had read a comment like this before I purchased I’d have not bothered, too much hassle. I’d personally rather have spent a bit more money and got something that is actually compatible with my rails and has some kind of real customer service and returns.

      @SimonDrysdale yep I get you.
      It is really well built, but a bit of a shame you would need to do some modifying.
      Well hopefully it gets sorted for you eventually 👍

    Quite an echo you've got going there or so it seems far, far away from London. Too bad, too, because it suggests the need to convert your space to a studio. Valuable content, though. Thanks.

    The quality is so great apart from one issue which is the tolerances on the raised lip on the part that attaches to both the track and first straight piece are too big in order for it to sit completely flush in the groove although once cranked down tight it won’t effect how the guides work but it’s a shame as the rest of it is so good.
    Great video though as I have to admit I was scratching my head initially 😂
    Below link is someone else posting about the issue.
