Chill guys, this is a collab video and Zermatt did consume RM30k worth of food and left no wastage. We are still friends👍🏻. For those who are asking, there is a dining period of 2hours for our buffet. We always welcome anyone who like to try out our buffet, we have few outlets at Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru which serve different concepts of buffet dining experience. IMO, if the restaurant opens up for this kind of challenge, he/she should be prepared that there will be a strong challenger like you bro who will visit them. If they can't afford, maybe be clear on the disclaimer (e.g., Maximum RM10,000). This way, it sets the customer's expectation and at the same time control their "loss".
Suddenly came out to stop the customer is not so professional. And by the way, should they also be thankful to you for helping to advertise for them? Sometimes, we should not be just looking at tangible returns, but also the intangible returns.

Just my two cents thought but the boss's polite concern about diners eating too much at an all-you-can-eat buffet seems wrong. Given that omakase dishes require time for preparation, the preparation time would also naturally eat into the typical 1.5 to 2-hour dining timeframe as well. Instead of blaming diners for their enjoyment, the restaurant might consider offering a different menu if cost is an issue.
You need to chill - the boss arranged our trip that it's a collaboration lol.

It definitely left a 'bad taste'. Pun intended. It's a collab in the sense that they arranged Zermatt's trip, but they did not expect to serve a lot of food. If they lost money on Zermatt, how many times they earned of others. Not everyday a Zermatt comes in. They should've let Zermatt eat and quit in 2 hours. I hope that's what they do next time, serving the same food at the Johor Bahru outlet, which is being arranged for publicity obviously.

What I think is this - it’s a buffet, they didn’t put a limit at the start although they could have. So you should be able to eat however much you want. If they want you to stop, you’re doing them a favour so they should be asking (quite literally for mercy) with that mentality. So I’m not really a fan of the boss’s tone when he felt like he was entitled to ask you to go “agar-agar” - it means he would probably do it to other customers too which for me would ruin the whole “buffet” ‘free-to-eat’ experience. No customer including Zermatt should feel like they must “limit” themselves in a buffet unless expressly stated by the boss *at the start*.

It appears the Wagyu hamburg and lamb ribs as final servings were strategically designed to "kill off" any normal eater's appetite. Hence, when you requested 10 more servings of A5, they must've been really thrown back and went like "what the..?!?" 😂

I used to work in fnb, and zermatt is really a very nice customer to serve. Polite and interactive. If got chance would love to serve him some food and eat along side him. Cannot finish can always pass the plate to him hahahah

If you think you can devour food like zermatt you are dreaming. Those premium foood is super super rich its either u gave up because the richness is too much or you will become sick after a while. My advice, just enjoy and relax. Dont go ham on the food. Use the 2 hour wisely.

You advertised it as an all-you-can-eat buffet for a fixed price and took this man's money for it. This is called a CONTRACT. You cannot cancel a contract unliterary - that's the whole point of a contract!
Did your patron not pay (ie uphold his end of the contract)? Yes, he did. It was YOU who broke the contract. So, Mr. Businessman, perhaps you should go back to Kindergarden to play with the other kids instead of trying to run a business without knowing the first thing about it.
Most of the time you make a PROFIT with this offer and when one time you don't, you WHINE like a little child! Also, very professional indeed to ask him to turn off his camera once it was no longer to your advantage (free promotion to half a million people).

Most of us know that omakase is not the amount literally in terms.
It's the experience you pay for. Most of diners worthy of their salt will visit for the RMXXXX* experience, ngl.
You will know what you want and you can tell the chefs not to ply you generously. Most of them are rather courteous, accomodating and more than ready to serve ❤

@@ZermattNeo yup. Speaking from the experience from the wagyu tavern in jb. Our group came out of the buffet not even full. They purposely serve super slow despite we finish it less than 20 sec upon serving. Lol.
To be fair, Marketing PR personnel must communicate n iron out all issue with the restaurant first.
the thing about all you can eat is, usually they serve low quality food, sometimes if they want they can do 2 menus, both menus included in the buffet.
for high end quality goodies like caviar, truffle, wagyu, kobe they will be limited to certain quantity, and the rest which uses average or low quality ingredients, you can eat as much as you want.
high end omakase is a dumb in itself,
rather than luring people with AYCE Omakase, just give people discount if they order for the second time and third time.
eg, if you order another set, disc 5%
if you can finish 2 sets, dis 10%
if can finish 3 sets disc 15%
is better than asking customer to stop eating because you are almost got stripped nakid lol
