- Enjoy another Mackinac Island garden tour! It's amazing to see these spectacular gardens throughout private homes on Mackinac's East and West Bluffs. Many of these homes are summer cottages for seasonal residents, yet the detail they give to their gardens is incredible.
Also, the views from East and West Bluff are just breathtaking. Mackinac Island is flat around the perimeter but anytime you leave the shore, it rises. These homes sit on the bluff of Mackinac Island overlooking the Straits of Mackinac with views of the Mighty Mac Bridge, freighters, ferries, and people passing through.

Northern Michigan summers are incredible! The Island gets warm but seems to always have a cool breeze blowing from the Straits. Plants and flowers thrive and on top of that, Mackinac Island takes great pride in their flowers and many businesses have a whole team of grounds people dedicated to their care. Even the City and private residences usually hire out local help. It's a community effort and quite incredible! Thanks for watching ☺

I Have watched a lot of videos on Mackinac. I read about the history . Land of beauty and elegance BUT …. I have never seen one human being in his front yard let alone under the huge verandah … what about someone going about his day mowing or else. It might be a very boring lifestyle if you asked me. So many ???? I prefer my simple lifestyle down under , at least I own two cars , one just for the hardware store. This is living for me. It looks like it’s all for show. Sorry but thank you for sharing . Jose down under .
Folks are out and aboout enjoying their homes and the views all summer! We try to capture footage without many people so might look extra desolate. We just filmed a few videos of home gardens and all the folks were out there working on them and gave us approval to film. The lifestyle isn't for everyone, but it's definitely a unique place to live! I always say as long as a person is happy, wherever they are sounds like a good place to be. Cheers! ☺

so beautiful! every single house looks after their garden beautifully, is the cost of maintenance funded by the council? or is it all borne by the owner?
The gardens and flowers in this video are all funded and maintained by the homes. The city has a downtown flower fund for flower baskets downtown but otherwise, everything is privately owned and funded by businesses or residents.
