I agree that we need an Asian themed pack, of some sort. Japanese architecture is just so unique and interesting, that it's hard to reproduce, with what we have.
They should do one for every popular, international culture! Like a Paris pack! With French inspired architecture and clothes. Maybe have the skill for your sim to learn a new language? Participate and host a japanese tea ceremony? That would be alot of fun!
a stuff pack full of items from around the world would be so cool!! it’d be nice to be able to recreate so much architecture that we can’t really do in game as of now. and language learning or even studying other cultures would be so fun!
agree, and i wish we also could have asian based themed world too! We already have european based, tropical based, urban based, desert based, country side based, we havent had an asian based world!

I think an East Asian/ Japanese inspired build series would be incredible! The architecture in that part of the world is so stunning, and I think of you made it into a series you could explore all the different types of architecture, like the beautiful traditional builds versus the more modern day typical Tokyo apartment.

Tbh initially i only wanted sims to have the option to not wear shoes indoors (for which there is a mod👏🏼) but now that you mention it, i want a rice cooker, Asian fruits, more Asian foods. I appreciate their lunar new year update awhile back, but let’s make it happen!! East Asian stuff pack.

The way you did the tatami was SO SMART omg and you even did the altar... I'm--- and the idea of the towel as the futon! You blew my mind! Eveything was amazing and so accurate!
Summer Wars is a great movie by the way, I love it too! The thing about anime is that in western countries we do have anime and we grow up with them (like pokemon, Sailor moon, digimon, Naruto,... I grew up with those and I'm from Spain) but no ones aknowledges it's anime and once you grow up if you keep watching anime you are treated as a childish person because you like cartoons (when in reality there are animes from literally everyone)

Also when I visited Tokyo for the 1st time I left a shopping bag inside a purikura machine and when I came back to check if it was there someone had already given it to the staff of the place and everything was still inside! That would absolutely not happen in my country XD
It's a shame that western countries view animation as being for kids. That wasn't always the case. The first cartoons were for adults. At least Asian countries didn't adopt that foolish viewpoint.

This is amazing LEO! I, myself I'm a HUGE fan of japanese culture! Fashion, food, anime. And this house is amazing it really reminds me of the houses of the Animes I used to watch when I was a little, like doraemon! All of the details. The tatami got me shook! and the whole work with the room dividers LIKE OMG! AMAZING JOOOOOB! It's GORGE

I don't often make comments but I had to on this one, because it was SO GOOD! This looks exactly like traditional Japanese homes look and I was floored that you were able to build it without any CC! I used to live in Japan so seeing this build felt a bit like coming home, which was just what I needed, because I miss Japan so much around this time of year. You're such an amazing builder! Thank goodness for the people creating mods and functioning kotatsu!! (The low table many Japanese people have in their homes. Yes, the one where you sit on pillows on the floor :3) I use them all the time in my game.

I'd like to see more Japan themed builds I lived in Japan for a while and one of my favorite things to do was walk around my neighborhood and look at houses. I even took pictures of a few because I wanted to try and build them in the Sims.

I’m not gonna lie the build looks insane and as someone who worked in property u’ve nailed the pictures. I’m looking at studying architecture here in London and in particular looking towards working on classical architecture completely so predominantly, Neo Classical, Neo Byzantine, Neo Baroque and the Gothic Revival of which the latter is my favourite style to design in.
I would love an asian/japanese building series. I love the architecture and the thought that often goes into it. And its definitely underrepresented in the Sims4.

Wow! You're doing fine. Even made a butsudan! IAamazing! A lot of small details. That's cool! But traditional Japanese houses have no concrete foundation. They are raised above the ground so that air can circulate freely under the house. 🌞🌸

and secondly: tbh I don't mind watching a 30 min video, in my opinion it doesn't even come NEAR to how long you took for building, editing and doing a voice over. ALL the work you put into this is amazing, so 30 mins are really really alright. Well at least I am thinking that way. Also you have a nice voice to listen to so that's also a good point not minding the length 😊

This house looks amazing, you really did a fine job here.. the protruding balcony was a great idea, i just wish you used a some kind of a skylight for its roofing so more natural light will get in the room.. another idea for what you can use a tatami room is as a prayer room which is common for asian houses.. i hope you can make another one with like a “U” shaped design which has a mini garden or courtyard and a koi pond in the middle.. please...
I hope in the sims 4 or even the Sims 5, the EA team will think to include a more Asian inspired world with features such as an option to wear slippers indoors instead of shoes which could actually be set under a system similar to lot traits. Maybe have it called something like 'Social Traits' which would make it so that you could put whether people are meant to remain quiet or remove their shoes on entering a building.
These simmers probably have terrible aches on one of their fingers from holding alt all the time

This is great and I love how much research/passion you put into your projects. On a personal note: I can't recall when I first started getting interested in Asian culture, maybe from the King and I movie made in the 60s. In college I was part of an Anime club and also studied history/ religion and anthropology. I hope to travel someday and see places in person.
Added: I tried to make a tiny rock garden on my museum build because the art museum on which it is based has one. My Sims name is Xystaerist.

I've been wanting to make a japanese house in sims after binging a lot of animes. I don't think i have enough packs for it... but now i guess I gotta try anyway
How did it go ?
In France when I was in middle school from 2006 to 2010 - we call it "collège" from age 11 to age 15- watching anime was for loosers. You told anyone you liked Naruto you were the worst nerd to ever noob. Idk it was so shameful. Were you to utter a word about any manga whatsoever, you were socially dead. Better paint a bullseye on your forehead honestly 🤷♀️ From what I understand it was inherited from an anti-japan / asianbashing propaganda that happened in the 1980's - the years that anime/manga began to appear in France. You can actually watch archives on YT of the INA (big archive organisation in France) were the News are bashing mangas/animes... They were afraid our culture would disappear in favor of this, same way they didn't want video games or some shit... Idk France is pretty weird about other's culture and the French Academy (organisation created for the conservation of our language/culture) is always finding way to reject others... Recently they wanted to translate # hashtags by "mot-dièse"... Ridiculous and no one ever uses it. If they could find a new word for sushi or burritos they would. They're anal about everything 🤷♀️ So yeah basically whole bashing of mangas/animes was an intervention by the government and generations grew up hating it and making fun of it for stupid reasons... Today it's less mocked, mainly because it is mainstream and generations of anime lovers took roots 🤣 But I'm still traumatized about middle school and you'd need to know me for quite some time before I admit that I have watched every single episode of naruto + shippuden +boruto 🤣 Now my little sister, who is 10, talks about animes at school and can borrow mangas at the local library.... It would NEVER have happened when I was her age 13 years ago 🤣
