In this week's video, we were joined by a friend and took a trip to Dartmoor to explore some of its history. We hope you enjoy the video and perhaps we can go back again soon and find more of Dartmoor's secrets! If you know of any other interesting sites on Dartmoor, please let us know in the comments 😊
There's nothing abandoned on Dartmoor, that's pure fantasy!
It belongs to the Duchy of Cornwall and renting it costs an absolute fortune and they don't do any repairs, you bloody well do!
So that's why so much looks run down!
@OldeJanner thanks for the reply. The areas we explored are not part of the Duchy estate. But we do agree with you in regards to some areas the own
Thankyou for showing us some of the hidden gems 👍

@@18milessouth thankyou means a lot
Hi I stumbled on this and it was very enjoyable, loved the thunder boxes at the rear, not pleasant on a cold day!
I do have reservations about revealing places like this as sadly many don't have the moral correctness as yourself and as a result the properties can be vandalised, you did not identify the location which is to your credit. I really enjoyed the music at the beginning, can you say what it was please?
@@tango6nf477 hi, we are so glad you enjoyed watching. We one hundred percent will never give away locations. Sadly too many places have been destroyed by sharing details. The music is from a website called fifty sounds. There is more details on the video description for the titles 👍
@@18milessouth spot on 👍
My mate owns the cottage you said was occupied , had many parties down their in the past ..
@@davidgibbings6085 thanks for the info. We were glad we didn't trespass. On Google maps it looked like an old building in the woods but as we got closer we could see signs that someone lives there so quickly exited the area. We were intrigued as to how the property was accessed as we couldn't see any tracks apart from the path in the woods.
If you stand at the top of the Sand back stop and look south west over the Metal work where they raised the targets and beyond. You will see 3/4 long mounds. This is where they would have laid down and took aim at the Targets. If you scratch around on these mounds , around rabbit holes is good, you will find the ammunition casings . Brass I think.
@@paulpalmer7353 that's very interesting to know! We did see the mounds but didn't realise at the time they were a part of the range. Thanks for letting us know. 👍
I know that cottage well, always wonder what happened there when I go past. It's been steadily getting overgrown for at least six years that I know of. Do you know any background? Thanks for not breaking in - too many people doing that for socials now.
@@digdilem we tried to find some history or background but came up with nothing. It's a very interesting place, we would love a cottage like this.
“18 Miles Out”. #TWD s2e10 😂
Does this guy know anything about the cancer related Radom gas produced by the Dartmoor granite
@Mistycat_51 hi yes we do. We also know it's "Radon" . Seeing as Radon only causes around 1000 deaths a year , we would think you'd better start trolling the smokers instead that cause far more cancer
Is that why there's nobody alive on Dartmoor? Wow @Mistycat_51 , you certainly know your stuff 😅 . Do you live in a little bubble?
@Mistycat_51 Where do you live? Hopefully not Britain, as pretty much all of it is sat on granite, with higher levels of Radon in most of the southwest, Wales, Scotland and pretty much every national park! Stop scaremongering and go find a channel you enjoy where hopefully nobody goes outdoors 😂
You are obviously not from the Westcountry and you know sweet FA about Radon!
