YAMAHA Montage M8X - Hammond Organ / Rotary Speaker

YAMAHA Montage M8X, my first play trough of the Hammond Organ sounds with the "new" Rotary Speaker ported from the YC series. Exploring the factory programmed Performance, changing the Rotary Speed with the brand new 5-segment ribbon controller, using the controllers-sliders as drawbars and expression pedal (FC7) of which one is linked to the Super Knob. The firmware v.1.10 was the latest one at the time of recording this video.

It’s a step forward for Yamaha cause one sound/voice can now have up to 128 elements,compared to the previous generations which had up to 8 elements.

So when you say, "new" Rotary Speaker, you do mean "digital", right?
Not a physically rotating (Leslie-like) speaker? Right?
Whatever that is, sure sounds incredible!
Are the keys weighted, semi-weighted or non-weighted?

Hi,yes it's the digital version which is incorporated in the keyboard. With "new" I mean the Roatary Speaker emulation which was released a couple of years ago for the Yamaha YC88/73/61 in the firmware v.1.20 which was a big improvement and that efect is now included in the new Montage M.

@@BlondieSL I didn’t had the chance yet to try the new Genos 2 and can’t confirm if it has the same Rotary Speaker FX.
