I thought the little girl was afraid of the fire. I know when I saw Disturbed live three months ago..the fire was intense. In fact..the sprinklers were set off because of the heat. My daughter and I got wet.

I’ve heard this years ago but still enjoy it. Hearing he was ill and still rocked it is awesome. And his insistence on holding notes on consonants is very intriguing. It’s very against the grain. It’s a great song with great message regardless of which recording you choose.
The fact David did this whilst running a fever is always amazing just annoying to know the studio auto corrected his voice much to the annoyance of David.
They only corrected one note. "...and VOICES never shared", he hit a touch flat on the note as his voice broke from his flu, but he was gutted when he saw the clip because he told the producers that if he was gonna do it, it was gonna be without a back-up track or any trickery. He felt it takes the humanity out of the song. I don't know about him ever refusing to do Conan again, but he was and still is bummed about it.

As a child of the 50s, I grew up with S&G in their prime. This is an unbelievable version of this song, I never imagined that I could like anything more than the original. I've checked out Disturbed's music previously - not really my cup of tea - but chapeau to the singer in particular for this gloriously emotional rendition.
I first heard Disturbed back in 2000 cuz back then MTV would still play music videos and at night I'd have it on MTV and the music video for "Stupify would come on almost every night and I think it was a sign that I'd love this band and I do I've been down with the sickness ever since
