    This movie is proof that Walken will say yes to ANYTHING. And while I question his selections I'll give him this, he doesn't sleepwalk through anything. When he signs onto a project he gives it his all.
    I mean, I could probably cast this guy in a five minute cameo in a movie where he plays a pizza guy and he would probably be the best thing about it.

    I will say, as a kid who grew up on Radio Disney, Krystal Marie Harris did have a decent career for a few years and even did soundtrack songs for Legally Blonde and The Princess Diaries.
    Jennifer Paige, however, had a minor hit song four years before this movie and that's about it.

    The film is pretty much a guilty pleasure for me. It's not good, but I still enjoy it. Part of it could be since my dad loved the film, he always loved films with that country flair, no matter how cheesy or mediocre it is. It's the reason why he liked this film and Home on the Range, two films that weren't quite good, but he loved them anyway.
    My dad has long since passed due to a car accident, so I think it's because of these memories I tend to view the film in a much fonder light. But I do agree, this film really wasn't all that great.

    See, what surprises me is that you say this is from 2011, but it has the same type of quality as one of your vids today. Normally with internet critics there's something different from thier early work compared to their later work, y'know like, delivery, camera quality, audio quality, such and such. But on those levels this is the same quality as your stuff today. So basically, you started with high quality and kept at that. Kudos, not many people have that about them

    Hey I just recently fell in love with your channel! It is both HILARIOUS and informative! I am a HUGE theme park buff.. And I have a request!!! (unless you have already done it..)
    A COMPARISON REVIEW... Jurassic Park River Adventure from Hollywood vs. Orlando.... It's just that one is SO incredibly bad compared to the other. Which you should probably know about.. However, I rode it last week.. And it was SOOOO BAD.. Ermigerd.. This would just be an amazing review!
    I'd love it if you did a comparison series! Like comparing Test Track to the Cars ride at California.. Splash Mountain Orlando to the one at Disneyland.. Ect.
    Either way, keep it up! I'm a big new fan! ^_^

    The Country Bear Hall in the movie doesn't even capture half the character and the atmosphere of the original Bear Halls at all either.
    My favorite is the Florida one. It's atmosphere really conveys that the place has a very long history going all the way back to pioneer days; it's architecture, both it's rustic logging and the fact that the floor has bear claw marks really sets the mood; it's decoration, from the hunting accessories, the lived-in feeling, and the cute bear portraits give the place a warm feeling, to offset it's grandness and it's wildness that might otherwise come off as intimidating.

    The bit where the Christopher Walken's character does the 1812 Overture at the talent show where the Bears get their big break predicted the scene from the Captain Underpants movie where George and Harold have the Waistband Warrior (dressed as Mr. Krupp as so to not arouse any suspicions from students and/or teachers) conduct a version of the 1812 Overture with fart noises. In fact, most of the Jerome Horwitz Elementary students in the Fart Band even act as 'Arm Musicians'.

    I think they should make a splash mountain movie. Basically it would be 'song of the south' but without the boring live action bits .in my opinion the live action bits were more boring than they were racist. Actually the only reason people think the movie is racist is because a black man in the south spoke like how a black man in the south would speak in that time period. Also while it wasn't clearly explained that the movie takes place after slavery was abolished the thing is if the movie took place during slavery times uncle Remus wouldn't have been allowed to leave at the end of the movie!

    Yes first theatrical because The Tower Of Terror was a TV movie based on that ride shown on ABC in October 26, 1997 on ABC and actually was shot in the actual ride at Walt Disney World here in Florida. Interesting. Yeah they did shot some movies there in Disney's Hollywood Studios. Same with Universal Orlando Resort. Universal Studios Florida is a studio too and not just a park because they shot some movies there too like How The Grinch Stole Christmas!

    The reason this movie is about “saving Country Bear Hall” is because the producer thought of this movie was a success Disneyland would instead of Winnie The Pooh it would’ve become a ride called Country Bear 3000 or something which would’ve still used the original animatronics and had the characters in a race but the movie bombed and so it never happened

      Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage

    This movie may be shit, but "Let It Ride", the song at the beginning, is actually pretty dang good. Sounds like a legit southern rock song.

    • @TonyGoldmark
      @TonyGoldmark  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The songs in this movie, in general, are REALLY good, way better than the movie deserves. I love John Hiatt.

      Tony Goldmark I really like that none of the songs the Bears sing are about being a bear. They're just southern rock songs. The movie would've been even cheesier if they were.

    • @TonyGoldmark
      @TonyGoldmark  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      "I'm Only In It For The Honey" acknowledges that they're bears, but it compensates by being easily the best song in the film.

      Tony Goldmark You're right! I haven't seen this movie in years. Like, since it came out.

      Well... If you ask me, that's sort of part of the weird problem.
      Country Bear Jamboree was about classic Country music, bluegrass, ballads, Appalachian music, blues...
      Not Kid Rock southern rock. That's like if a classical concerto were headed by Metallica. Which, while awesome, is sort of missing the point.

    @inspectorjavert8443 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Wickerman, the country bears, don't go in the woods... nothing good happens when people put on bear suits.
    BTW Why didn't you include his "This isn't over: Bears!" line? In either case Walken is a treasure in pretty much any movie he acts in.

    • @TonyGoldmark
      @TonyGoldmark  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Nostalgia Critic covered that line pretty thoroughly in his "Top 11 Christopher Walken Moments" video. I didn't think I could improve upon it.

    Will you ever do more live-action Disney film reviews? (In addition to Haunted Mansion, of course)

    • @TonyGoldmark
      @TonyGoldmark  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm sure I'll eventually review all the other theme park movies (the Pirates movies, Brad Bird's Tomorrowland, the made-for-TV Tower Of Terror movie, etc.) Beyond that? Who knows.

    As dumb as the movie and the ride it is based on are, they both have a place in my heart. They were my late pop-pop's favorite Disney properties of all time. No relation to anything, just wanted to put that little tidbit out there.

    fun act, this actually wasn't this. it was tower of terror. this was 2002 and tower of terror was 1997

      Wrong, that was a made-for-TV movie. Country Bears is indeed the first theatrical release.

      But SJWAC wasn't, at least in the description:
      "...he tackles the very first *theatrical* movie ever based on a park attraction..."

    • @TonyGoldmark
      @TonyGoldmark  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Josh Freilich Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. There's a moment in the ride where alarms start going off.

    • @JoshFreilich
      @JoshFreilich 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Believe it or not, that was my next guess. I don't remember that one as well, because I've only rode it once. Which is REALLY sad, because I love the effects and animation in it.
      The only things that kept me from coming back to it were its tight seats (hey, it's a submarine), and not having Fastpass for whenever the line is longer than 30 minutes (hey, it's Pixar).
