Sold the Bavarian Boxer adv bike, there is a reason why it is the best selling adv bike in the market. It really is the best out there. Taking into accounts some of the well known problems of the bike, it is still the best adv out there by a fairly big margin. I do miss it but I might get the R1250GS soon and with the COE running out, I was offered a price I couldn't refuse. Anyway a newer model is always a better model.
But truly speaking, if you have never ridden or owned a GS before, I would say that there is no need to get the latest and most expensive model from Germany. The R1200GS LC is truly good enought for all but the most demanding riders. And with most of us not even into serious off roading, the 10 years old GS LC is more than capable of fulfilling all our needs and then some. It is a bit like if you are using iPhone X still, an iPhone 11 will be a significant enought upgrade for a overwhelming majority of the population. If one just step back 2 generations for phone or bike, and then always upgrades to a newer model which is also 2 generations behind, we will never miss anything, in fact we will save a lot of money and getting real value for money. Which is why I will be looking for a R1250GS in 2024 probably. It will be 3,4 years old, with almost half the new bike price depreciated away.
Going back to the GS LC, it is 1 bike you can climb onboard the first time and immediately feels one as a bike, 2 corners later, you will be riding it like a sports bike. And if equipped with an Akrapovic exhaust, it will sound like a sports bike too. The pull and music the boxer engine produces is supremely addictive and you will be grinning side to side everytime there is open road in front of you. No adv bikes in the market feels as planted and sure footed and moves in a forward thrust so addictive. Yep, that's why it is the best selling adv bike in the market. Period.

It's a 100k mileage bike but did send in for valve clearance check . Surprisingly still within limits. 🤣
