Can you BEAT the Harry Potter 2 (PC) Warpless Speedrun if the game runs in 8x SPEED?

- I have to admit that I did not expect this run to be this entertaining but wow it had sooo many fun and comedic moments and the amount of clips that it spawned is actually unreal! Plus it was a really nice challenge as well, a lot of the level weren't really that easy anymore on this speed and a lot of tricks were straight up impossible so we had to improvise, adapt and overcome. 8x seems like a pretty good increase as well, certainly wouldn't want to do it with more than that
The rules:
We speedrun through Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (PC) but we are not allowed to Quidditch Warp or skip any of the cutscenes AND the game is sped up times 8 of it's normal speed slightly altering the physics and tricks in game!
But the one main important question remains though: Can we actually finish a valid run like this or do we have to cheat our way through some of the level because they are too difficult? I hope you are going to have fun watching today and finding out!

I started to hate every creature involved at that point in time and that Pixie was the final straw for sure 🤣

It's EXACTLY that, people always want me to be fast in speedruns and go for WRs and such and then the moment I'm actually reaching a very impressive speed they start complaining that they don't like it! Just can't make it right no matter what...
If you play it at .25x speed, Harry moves at almost a normal speed, but it's a slideshow and Nixxo sounds like he's forgotten how to talk
I just tried doing that as well and I have no regrets 😂 What a weird experience but I guess it makes sense to be like that, very fun to experiment around with superspeed like that!
Now, what would it be like to play the game 8x SLOWER? 😉

I don't want to be the guy who crushes cool ideas but we have played parts of the level in slowmotion before during some Memeruns and yes it can enable some cool dodges and scenes but after like 5min of it it gets incredibly old and so slow paced that it's really not fun anymore... 😅

What a missed chance by me in editing 😂 I can visualize it in my head, would have really fit in some situations during it...
50:30 Don't forget Harry is also 8x faster, so in relation the momentum is not harder :D
I mean that's true in general but making it through like that is still a small miracle 😅 It's not all thaaat easy to set it up so you only have to walk forward to get through them all without stopping, it's quite the specific cycle. So the fact that we got it like that first try was still very nice imo 😄

about 5 Minutes left sometimes back then (I liked that designwise to much to rush through it) and always wanted to avoid that shame. It also was the first thing that came into my mind when talking chenges in HP2 I don't like -

Yeaah the entire timer is a very weird design choice for the challenges, especially with the knowledge that nothing happens when it runs out. Put a lot of unnecessary stress on the player and potentially kept them from properly looking around and enjoying the design and secrets of the challenges like you said. I guess the only thing they do is change the amount of housepoints you get at the end but that could have just as well been depending on the total star count.
So overall I have to agree with you, a bit of a pointless addition to the game and it's good that they decided to get rid of it again in HP3...

Maaan I remember struggling so hard with some segments in this game back in the days, platforming was just so damn hard for me back then. Good times I have to admit...

For me, not, I would watch this way again. Or see HP1 or HP3 played in similar matter. Or a 100% run.
Oh my god how can your brain keep up at 2x Speed 😂 That's honestly super impressive, I get so confused with whats going on if I do that but I will keep the 100% Superspeed idea in mind for the future.

The cutscenen is slowing down cause there are some slow motion parts in it.
Never knew that they actually change the game speed entirely but that kind of makes a lot of sense, proably the eaiest way to animate anything in slow motion at that time...
