Can I speedrun Harry Potter 2 (PC) FASTER if I'm allowed to FREELY switch the Game's FPS?

- Interesting concept of a Memerun and I think actually something that we haven't really done before surprisingly. Switching between the FPS on the fly enables some really fast segments and actualy makes the game pretty fun to play at times, the biggest issues were the spell challenges though because the timer also goes faster making it nearly impossible to beat the goal times on high FPS. Overall a great experience though, we need to do more runs uncapped for sure!
But was it actually faster than my normal 100% PB to play the game like this? Or did we end up losing more time than saving due to the high gamespeed and having to change the FPS? I hope you are going to enjoy finding out in this video, have fun watching!
The Rules:
We are allowed to change the FPS to anything we want during the run (game speed is tied to the FPS) and to gain an advantage that way. Additionally I was allowed one map warp to any level of my choice to break another category restriction and to gain extra time save.

Been absolutely loving all the meme runs you've been doing lately
Your chat comes up with some incredible ideas👌
I love eating cheese.
But do you like to eat it at 60 FPS or uncapped?
i'm here before the cheese guy
Was too busy eating cheese.
My successor
Eating Cheese is kind of important though tbh
11:00 It's actually very possible to win without a Seeker. You just need to keep your score 150 points higher than opponent's. HPGoF showed it perfectly.
I would bring the counterpoint that without a seeker the match would technically never end 😋 Because no Seeker would catch the snitch while their team is BEHIND so they lose (Krum is a special case I guess, he is a bit of a narcissist and J.K. Rowling doesn't understand sports lol)
@@Nixxo It will be a question of warring pride and exhaustion. I googled up that there is a mention of a match lasting for three months - teams used substitutes to allow players to get food and sleep...
So funny to see behind the scenes how they did basic game things like movement speed and their version of anti-aliasing by syncing it up to frame rate lol
I believe that a lot of Unreal Engine games, and a lot of old games in general, have similar things happen regarding the framerate being synced to some physics so I think the devs didn't have much of a choice there 😄
Very interesting to see how it influences for sure though and funny to check the things that just break, glad to hear that you enjoyed it!
I’ve just thought while watching this, have you ever been in the room where the double snails and crabs come up from in rictu?
Hmm I have been thinking about which segment of Rictusempra you mean with that for a while now and I can't figure it out 😅 So the answer is probably "No, I haven't" but I am also really intrigued after reading this, is there any video footage of what you are talking about?
@@Nixxo not a clue why I said rictu, I meant bicorn 😂😂
Ohh thag room, the one where you have to push creatures around for an eternity 😄 They come up from downstairs right? Basically the room you go to afterwards to push the snails into the cages.
@@Nixxo oh my days. I've watched/played literally hundreds of rictu runs and never clicked on that they just lift up from the room below which you go into next. I never looked up in that room. Smh, low IQ moment 🫠
Beans.
There's nothing like
B E A N S
I really like these BEANS!
How switch FPS?
We use a software called dxtory to do that. You can put any FPS value you want in there manually.
And i am the first that like
Congratulations for that and thank you for the like, really helps me out and I appreciate that a ton!
