I have actually never been to St. Gallen. The Abbey looks wonderful. I've hiked up to Aescher. I see taking cable car is much easier and interesting path - even in the rain. Cool you got the place for yourself. :) We only had lunch there, then we hiked back town to the Seealpsee. Too bad about the rain, but I guess now you have excuse to return to see it in the sun. :)
St.Gallen is really beautiful, I would definitely recommend visiting it! It's one of those places that is pretty even in bad weather; plus it's much bigger than I expected. Which hike did you do? Very true, we'd definitely want to visit the area again. It's just a shame that it's literally on the opposite side of the country from us hehe.

Aescher guesthouse is one of those places that's even more impressive in real life than in photos. Would you like to stay there, if you could?🙂
