How on earth is it possible to grow wine on the slopes (and through the snow and frosts) of the Switzer Alps but somehow not likewise the slopes of Scotland?

That's a very good question. 😅 I remember first finding out that they grow grapes here and make wine and I was like - no one ever talks/knows about it outside of Switzerland.😂
But as for the weather, most of the vineyards that I've seen don't get snowed on very often (although it might be different elsewhere). And maybe being on the slopes somehow helps to get more sun? It's just a guess. There are probably also only some varieties of grapes that work here.
But hey, English wine is a thing, so everything is possible! 😅

@@OurSwissAdventure Norway (seemingly) has an even more likewise landscape with truly ‘Alpishlooking’ mountains. Norway even has something like only a few hours of darknesses in summertime the rest is hours and hours of extra sunlight more than Switzerland. Anyway, thanks again for the upload and also interesting to hear the whyfors behind the UNESCO award anent the abodes.

Before making such a big decision, you should probably visit both countries and see how you feel about them.
Everything also depends on what you are looking for from a country and what job do you think you can get in each of them.
The weather here in Switzerland is not always perfect, but it's definitely better than in Scotland.
