Thank you very much for this video dorm tour. ❤This invokes a nostalgia for my dorm years. (Once upon a time, I attended SDSU for a little bit, but did not live in the dorm. However, I also attended Berkeley for a little bit as well and lived in the dorm.) Let's see which features from the Zura that grabbed my attention: 1. Kitchen: I wish we had such a good assortment of kitchen appliances and work areas. Based on what I and the rest of my dorm-mates experienced, either the lack of or poor access to kitchen amounted to resorting to junk food late at night. 2. Laundry room: Ours were rather minimal compared to the one in the Zura. However, I can see why the Zura's seemingly better laundry room is still inadequate due to the sheer number of dorm residents relative to the number of operable washers and dryers. (I wonder if someone should do a thesis on the logistics of laundry. After all, how we deal with the laundry is one of the key everyday issues that has long-term economic and environmental consequences.) 3. Print station: One less peripheral hardware to deal with when moving in and out of the dorm. 4. The Zura's "6th floor deck-balcony": Helps to make one to feel less stifled by the otherwise "boxed-in" dorm setting. 5. Study rooms: I think having a greater number of smaller study rooms per floor is a better arrangement compared to having a smaller number of larger study rooms per floor.
