Marfione Custom Dragonslayer IV OTF Automatic Superconductor Inlays Mirror Polish Cowry-Y Steel

- This Custom Marfione Dragonslayer IV features Copper/Nickel Niobium superconductor handle and blade inlays. The deep mirror polished steel used for the blade comes from Japan by way of Japanese knife builder (Master) Ichiro Hattori who forged the Cowry-Y Steel used on this Marfione Custom.
Microtech knives in general have always appreciated in value just stupid fast...it's crazy. I remember back around 2001 or 2002 I think it was I bought two Halos (Halo 2.5 & 3 I think) from Blue Ridge Knives for $279 each. I also had 4-5 Mini UMS that went for $100 normally, though I think that was a few years later, like around 2005. Now any Halo from the first one up to 3 are like $750+ I think, and a Mini UMS is like $250-300 and have been in that range for years. In my opinion, Protech is about the same quality and fire harder usually and are much more reasonable, though I understand this is a custom from Marfione and are on a whole different level. Beautiful knife all the same and I would love to have it. Thanks for showing.

Yeah an automatic threat seeking and stabbing detection of some sort for 6k. Imagine this dude pulls this thing out thinking it's impressive but it's not really. It's a standard shitty OTF. Not even a tanto blade.
For 6 thousand dollars, it best be made out of Adamantium.

The blade profile is gorgeous. Not sure about that pushbutton though. Really nice finish on the inlay.

@@justinrojas3289 This is actually a Marfione Custom so it is part of Microtech, Anthony Marfione is the owner and creator of Microtech. One of the reasons the cost is high.

Finish on that is beyond amazing, but it the blade came out any slower...almost looked like it wanted to climb back in. Must be cold is all.
Yes, the springs on these single action out the fronts are three times stronger than their double action counterparts. Because of the mechanism it allows the blades to fire harder and faster than any other style of automatic.

That is the charging handle, you pull that back to reload the blade.
The cost of one of these is the same as buying a car. Well almost. They go for between $5000 to $6500.00 and that’s way to much. I might as well build one myself.

Negative, Single action Out The Front knives have almost zero blade play unlike their Double Action counterparts.
Amazing!! Pity they didn’t do something fancy with side lock device (sorry don’t know the real name for that but).
It's very similar to a liner lock, it does just blend in with the handle.

Its beutiful, most marfiones are, but according to microtech the process is pretty much the same well built like the regular ones just spend alot more time on a few then sell them for way more, much more man hours on The marfiones but still. 1-3k for a marfione sounds more like a good price for 1. Still congrats to the buyer Its a fantastic looking knife.
This model, The Dragonslayer is not available in production form. Otherwise fair description. Like all things in the world there are the low and high end options.
1. I don't like the fact there is no prominent distinction between hilt and pommel. I don't want to feel the need to look at my blade to make sure I'm not about to stab myself while deploying it.
2. Having to use 2 hands to close/recharge the blade pretty much defeats the whole purpose of having an automatically opening blade.
3. The price... gfys
Yes in this case the Dragonslayer is designed to be cosmetically clean and symmetrical on both the front back and lower and upper portions of the handle, it is also not designed for regular everyday carry it is more of a museum piece so the design in this case is 100% cosmetic and less functional
