    Hello Shameem, I have been watching your videos for awhile now and I just want to say that your work looks awesome. Thank you for this weathering tutorial it is in my archive of saber stuff and is very helpful for me a beginner. I actually used it today to weather my saber which I am building. It came out really well and I am pleased. I did not do a shattered technic just the aged look. I need more practice with the dremel before I attempt it on a saber. The saber i am working on is a design i liked from parts from The custom saber shop with the idea that it is a saber from the era when the Sith were at war with themselves and the Republic nearly whipped them out. So thanks again and happy holidays.

      WHIP them out. All of them! Remember when they whipped out the Jedi? JK.

    Complimenti, bel tutorial, il risultato finale mi piace molto. Ma per fare le scanalature che diametro ha la fresa x il dremel che hai utilizzato?

    thank you :-) this is very helpful for when I finish my hilt. one quick question? how tough is the clear coat? would it come off easy in a well handled saber for dueling?

    1. Do you do dremel one piece at a time, or could you assemble the whole hilt and do it across pieces?
    2. As for painting, do you have any tips, like can i assemble the whole hilt and paint all at once, or would the paint job be destroyed once i unscrewed each piece?

    do you make your own blade plugs??? if not I would love to see you try watching all of your videos is the reason why I bought and making my own hilt. and I'd kill to see how you would make one!

      I'd kill to see one like see if you could make a crystal reveal one for the long 3.25 blade plugs. you know for like the epoch emitter. I'd buy it so fast it's not even funny. well I'll be here waiting for the day!!!

    Thanks, I was curious about shattering. Do you take out the power switch before painting or do you cover it up? I imagine the paint would cover up the led in it.

    How? did that work for you? I just did a clear coat to my Korbanth K4, and promptly began to come off two days later!

    So I have a plain ultrrasaber hilt, I actually have a already done shattered weathering but will regular black spray paint stick to it? Will it stay on if I use clear coat?

    This is a really cool and helpful tutorial! One question though, if the hilt is already weathered would you still suggest going through all the steps or could some be skipped?

    one important thing you left out was the dry time for the paint.

    What would I do if I wanted the paint to only be in the cracks? Like I only did one later of paint.

    • @corkey159
      @corkey159 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sand it down more. The cracks are recessed so the sandpaper will not dig in to the grooves if you hold it flat on the surface, hence why they look darker after sanding. If you keep sanding down the finish, like at 18:59 but keep going until the hilt it all silver again, the cracks should be the only thing left with paint in them.

    That's a nice paint job, but don't really get the shattered weathering effect wich i find way to much. Why....well if your saber had big cracks like that, it would proberly not work!
