Saw this movie when I was about ten years old. My dad took me and my brother to a Saturday afternoon double feature at a local theatre. We saw this and 20 Million Miles To Earth. On the way home my dad told us about how his dad took him to see the original black and white King Kong movie. That was one of my favorite days with my dad. He passed away about a year later. This movie is one of my favorite Japanese monster movies. Good memories.
You took out a part I've always loved from the very first time I saw this movie in the theater when I was 8 years old back in late1968 or early 1969. The way the Mechani Kong's legs run up against the small building before delivering the knock down punch.
0:51 I love Linda Miller.🥰 5:43 There is an amplification device for transmitting TV signals at the top of Tokyo Tower. It was destroyed. And the tower broke.
It must’ve been very difficult for Mr. Nakajima and Mr. Sekita to climb the model tower, because if you look very closely in various shots, the clips of them climbing the structure appear to be reversed. It must’ve been easier to climb down than up.
I always hated the scene where Madame Piranha gets shot and killed with her own gun. It's hard to watch. She was the real hero of the movie and I wanted her character to live.
Why is it that almost all the giant kaiju that go on a rampage through Tokyo seem to feel the need to wreck Tokyo Tower? What did it ever do to them? Maybe that's what attracts the kaiju to Tokyo in the first place? It's some kind of kaiju magnet! Japan should maybe get rid of the tower. That might solve their giant kaiju problem for good. 😄

My condolences for your loss. Your dad had great taste in monster movies.
Amazing luck, Kong found the one Japanese speaking young blonde white woman in 1967 Japan 😂
exchange student
And the one giant ape in Japan who understands her
One of my Absolute Favorite Movies - of this came on TV - all else would stop !
Merry Christmas Everyone!
Respect for those catlike reflexes of King Kong to catch Linda Jo Miller. Mechani-Kong can be the final boss in whatever comes after The New Empire.
I love King Kong Escapes (1967)
Gotta love people in monster costumes fighting each other. Can’t imagine directing that. lol
Silly but also irresistable non Godzilla movie. Thank god I have the dvd. Love this one since I was a child 50 years ago
Great great fun and great music too.❤😂
5:45 Susumu Kurobe, aka Shin Hayata/Ultraman's appearance
Also, Mechani-Kong could be in the MonsterVerse. But he could be called "Mecha-Kong".
Wow. The first time i was allowed to go to the movies it was to see this and West Side Story at the Loews Gates in Brooklyn. Ahh memories 😊

Joking aside I’m happy that you shared your experience of this film
That time Doctor Who was a global supervillain.
This movie was released a little over 2 weeks before I was born.

Always wanted to ssee the whole movie. Where can it be seen?
That was one of the most unintentional funniest things I ever saw in my life- only thing you can top it is Godzilla versus the Wolfman
I have the DVDs well 3 movies king Kong escapes and king Kong vs Godzilla and King Kong 2005
The ultimate Christmas movie 😅❤❤❤
Saw this movie in 68 at Oriantani movie house in Hackensack NJ was 10 yrs old
Thank you
MechaniKong’s entrance goes so hard. Like he’s been barreling through Tokyo and now he’s walking through a building like it’s nothing.
wow😮
4:37 king kong makes a godzilla growl, which is actually a manda grunt
It's was alright, 💯💯👌
I always hated the scene where Madame Piranha gets shot and killed with her own gun. It's hard to watch. She was the real hero of the movie and I wanted her character to live.
One of the few times if ever where there is interracial romance from both sides. Mia Hama and the Captain and Linda Miller with the Japanese guy.
I rate these one up there with "The Gargantuas" and " Frankenstein conquers the world" all 3 are great...
Eji Tsuburayba's final film. Everything after this film had his name on it out of respect for the great man.
Curiously, Mechani Kong is the main inspiration to create Mecha Godzilla
The fight.
Was too short.
And it is time for a remake.

King kong escapes (1967)FinalBattle
To be fair, it’s the only interpretation of Mechani Kong
What happened to the scenes where Linda Miller is saved by the Japanese guy.
Talk about insecurities. 😂🤣
Mechani Kong is 69 feet (21 meters) tall
The real kong seems quicker!
"My kong" wont tire!

Showa king Kong is 66 feet (20 meters) tall
Not in King Kong vs. Godzilla, he's not.

I Love this trash movie.
Movies back then were great and stupid at the same time.. Trying to shoot a giant robot with a rifle? Hahaa
