traditional karate that originates from Okinawa always seems to have takedowns, throws, and standing joint locks in their techniques, just watch any clips of it on TH-cam!
Most are aware about sweeps and neck wrestling in Muay Thai, but Karate teaches a more variety of different takedowns from different positions, along with how to defend from those takedowns.
there actually are certain throws/slams which are legal if performed in a specific way. (it's like as long as one foot stays on the ground or something) but yes actual karate which teaches thatstuff isn't designed within a ruleset.
@buhserker yes learn atleast bjj grappling and then you're a weapon. Muay thai on its own and a couple years training doesn't equate to much of a deadly weapon
thats also true of karate most karate practitioners now dont involve grappling to the degree karate used to and the modernization of karate in japan kinda messed it up because they wanted to train it like kickboxing with kata

A well rounnded arsenal is your best chance to win..... At 24 I decided to try my hand at MMA, in my first fight I had my ass absolutely handed to me on a silver platter by a BJJ practitioner... My eyes were then open to a whole new world. This is KYOKUSHIN KARATE STYLE. Btw, according to buddhism, there are more than 100 styles of karate but the two main are kyokushin karate and ashihara karate style. I bet no one has any ideas about ASHIHARA KARATE STYLE which is more deadly and dangerous than kyokushin karate style. Ashihara karate style can beat up a muay thai fighter easily because it is a mixture of muay thai, kyokushin, taekwondo,Japanese jiu jutsu, tai chi, wing Chung, kun khmer, lethwei and kung fu. KYOKUSHIN KARATE is full contact and half combat with many silly rules and regulations as well as with a lot of katas but ASHIHARA KARATE is different from KYOKUSHIN because ashihara doesn't have any silly rules and regulations, we can punch in face,a lot of deadly techniques, can make use of elbows and knees and many others. SO LITERALLY ASHIHARA KARATEKA can literally defeat any muay thai fighter
I prefer Karate due to my current preference for martial arts with multiple variations especially grappling (my eye is on Hapkido now). And because I am a small guy, so I can't go with Muay Thai. Any idea about hi-bridge martial arts or something, partner?
@@DouglasGomesBueno-jw9lh Yes, but not everyone. I tried Muay Thai but never cut out for it in every aspect, especially its society. I think I belong to something else but it. So sorry, not everything fits for everyone since we have our own uniqueness.

If you learn Muay tai your a certified weapon
If you learn Lethwei and Krav Maga, your a killer
So not true, learn all the arts then you're a weapon.

Most unexpected move:
Karate: inside crescent kick.
Muay Thai: Headbutt.
That's lethwei bro
I don't think they allow headbutts in muay thai
headbutt is lethwei, not allowed in muay thai
That's why it is unexpected
Lethwei is Muay Thai. We do headbutts just not in the ring. As well as several other devastating strikes that make people nervous
Muay Thai + Taekwondo fixes all the problems about the 2 arts
