The tutorial covers; basic chords, the scale riff for the verse as well as riffs for the chorus and bridge. The tutorial covers basic to intermediate level playing
Thanks John. Rather than figuring it out on my own (I've got a gig coming up) I'm jump starting the process and using your excellent video. Always wanted to get the song under my fingers on mandolin-been playing it for years on a guitar. It is already taking shape on my 1939 A Kalamazoo with f holes (your's looks like a oval hole K)
I think there are a few videos with my mug. It doesn’t help you learn the tune, and since many people watch these on their phones, I try to focus on where the action is. Keep rockin that mando!
It all depends on what you want to spend. I would recommend going to the Elderly instruments website, or the store if you live near Lansing Michigan. They alway carry good stuff and are great folks to deal with. They have mandolins starting around $200 up to $120,000, if you just hit the lottery. Good hunting!
Wow! This is amazing! Thank you for this tutorial. It’s helped me tremendously
Glad to help Joe.

Good luck! Yes mine is a Gibson A from 1921.
I'm doing the same thing... gig on Saturday and folding some of these elements into what I'll be playing. Thanks!
As always, amazing!
Thank you Susan. Glad you like it.
Definitely on my list to learn. Thanks.
Ok, how’s it going?
This is very helpful. Thank you!
Glad to help, enjoy that mando!
thank you john curtis
You are very welcome Jessica.
Thanks nice video trying to sell my band on doing this with me playing Mandolin like I do on Amie. This helps this guitar player.
It works well with Mandolin!
John I have a request. This year will be the 26th year since lost Jerry. Could you teach us the last song he probably play Black Muddy River?
Thanks for request John, I’ll check it out.
Please do this
Love this tutorial. Do you ever show your face?
I have been a subscriber for years and would like to know what you look like

Can you recommend a mandolin that would be good for beginners to learn on?
Rock and Pop mandolin on TH-cam went over entry mandolins

What the Devil? LOL. In the studio, who played mandolin on this track? Anybody knows, Jerry Garca?
Don’t know, might have been David Grissman.
