Back when this came out, I had a friend who was on an education visa from Scotland going to college with me. I still remember hanging out in his dorm and drinking beers, talking about dreams and women with this album being played. And it is still one of my best memories with a friend who passed away about 5 years ago. So, every time I hear THIS song.... it transports me back to being 22 and just "chilling out" with one of my best friends ever.
Wow ! Thats cool and sad at the same time ! Yes this music gives me the chills, I was in the States about 5 years from Ireland as a Teenager when this came out ! And i was living in Boston, MA at the time and the song was everywhere ! had some similar things happen ! I am sorry to hear about your Friend !! Take care !!
Hey Biss, didn't remember the group's name, but as soon as she opened her mouth I recognized this hit right away. And it does have that Irish lilt. Pure 90s, pure soft beauty, great pick, thanks, Biss 😊
This is probably my favorite, along with Linger, since it was the first time I heard their music. Ridiculous Thoughts is a must listen. Desperate Andy is probably my favorite song that was released as a single.
Being a teenager when this came out it had a heavy rotation on our local radio station. Have loved her voice abd her since the first second of hearing her. She was amazing.
This always reminds me of end credits of Chungking Express, where Faye Wong sings this in Chinese. One of great movies of the 90s and one of Tarantino fav. movies.
Love her voice and biss "esti un vis pentru mine" great reaction biss I like there music to I like there songs she has a sweet voice stay sweet biss❤😊ps any guy you choose will be a lucky guy your so buetiful and adorable
Im from UK, grew up with these when young, loved this song, was so many versions done really well tbh too from dance DJs for nightclubs. They have a good few classics people have probably heard but not know who it was
Great reaction. This was their debut single and my favourite hit from the band - much better musically than Zombie, IMO - and will be forever how I remember the late Dolores Riordan's voice. There are similarities here also with Sinead O'Connor, not just because she's also Irish and had shorter hair, but her vocals too, which manage to sound both fragile and powerful, and also both beautiful and melancholy at the same time. That high vocalisation is like "keening", a common element of Gaelic folk music, particular in songs of mourning and loss. There were two other videos made for this song but I think the version you've watched was the one shown in the USA, so it's probably more commonly available online, since the US market tends to dominate. In the original one I remember from the UK, Dolores had longer hair and it featured her face and the faces of the rest of the band in close-up and in reflections on water. It's on their TheCranberriesTV YT channel as the official video.
No need to argue is a good one from the cranberries you might like. If you want to hear another voice that you will always recognize after you hear it anita carter has an unforgettable ethereal sound.
you could bet on any 10seconds of this song. even intro with no singing. its a stunning song thats been in my every day collection since it was released in the early 90's. while "linger" got more airplay in australia... this song was the one that stuck with me. glad you got to sample it.
Hi Biss! When I first heard her harmonies I immediately thought of Bjork! The Cranberries are a recent find to me so I am not familiar with their music or style. I like what I hear though.
Yes, there are certain artists with distinctive voices and she is one. Stevie Nicks would be another. Ann Wilson, Steve Perry, and maybe Springsteen would also fall into that category. Just a few notes and people would know. As for my favorite Cranberries song, I would say other than Zombie, it would be Ode To My Family.
I don't know what it is about this song for me. As a bassist, I usually hate just trucking the root notes over and over again, but it really works for this song. I'm glad you eventually got to this one.
Очень жаль, что девушка не дождалась своего Принца на белом коне и ей пришлось самой идти его искать 🔎! Что удивительно, она его нашла! Вот что значит верить в мечту! И она сбудется!❤
I have heard this song in the Next Karate Kid, it's played on a boom box by the main character. Didn't even know it was The Cranberries. Well Biss, all the girls here are crazy so us American guys have even more problems finding a nice girl in America like you have a problem finding a nice guy in Europe. That's why passport bros exist, the good girls are in Asia and Europe.
Beautiful selection once again, Biss. This is the first import I ever bought. I wasn't going to wait for the 'system' to get of their a** and start distributing this album internationally. Best purchase ever.
"Hello, I hope you’re doing well. I recommend a song for you to react to; it’s a combination of K-pop and rock. The group is called Dreamcatcher, and the song is 'Justice.' It’s something new and represents what the future of music will be like."
Having not seen the video, that was a real surprise ending. But it’s a beautiful song, especially the parts where she sings wordlessly in joy. I hope her spirit has found peace. And a man would be lucky to find you.
LOVE "The Cranberries" :). Always great to see you, and I'd like to recommend a song for you, but you may have already reacted to it or know it, but the song is "When You're Gone". Great song and one I think you will like if you haven't heard it yet. RIP Dolores
Sorry, babe! But you're not necessarily going to find all of this in the forest! Just kidding! So, this is some what unrelated but I heard a song on the radio this morning that made me think you should check out Sarah McLachlan. She is a little different from the Cranberries, but same era ish. She's a Canadian singer and songwriter with an amazing voice, that was big in the 90s, and she also created Lilith Fair, which was a tour/music festival from the late 90s that was a collection of a lot of the big female artists at the time. She has a live album/concert video from back in the day, called "Mirrorball", that has a lot of her more famous songs, that you'll get to see her do live! Anything you find on there is good, but some of her most famous songs are "Angel", "Adia", and "Building A Mystery". "Fear" is another favorite of mine.
Her voice is very unique, but keep in mind that there were some posers who came around the next 2 or 3 years after the Cranberries hit the charts, who were imitating her folkish Irish airy lift that she adds to phrases. They were obviously trying to cash in on her style. So, you could get fooled that someone else was her back in 1995-97.
Hello Bisscute. Another beautiful song and video from the 90s, what I liked the most is its rewarding and stimulating message, in which the lyrics of Dreams explore the experience of falling in love for the first time and its transformative impact. Who does not identify with Dolores O'Riordan when she expresses how love has brought constant change to her life and how the emotion of falling in love makes everything feel new and full of possibilities and in which desire becomes a force unstoppable In essence, this song conveys that feeling of living a dream, something almost unreal and unique, that I had never experienced. I love Dolores' voice with an almost angelic tone. Good choice Bisscute. For the next reaction, I suggest the singer Mon Laferte, performing live at the Viña del Mar 2017 festival, the song Tormento. Greetings and a hug from Mexico City.
❤❤with this great song and Dolores singing ...Biss you can touch my old heart waaaoooo❤❤ Brillant song ever ticling my heart with great voice of Dolores O'Riordan❤❤R.I.P Thanks a lot
Oh Biss, lmao, did anyone else have to pause when she said, 5 Euros, because you thought she said, she bets, a 5-year-old? Because, I'll be completely honest, it wasn't until about the 4th or 5th time she said it, that I finally understood what she was saying. Ah, the joys of language, I'm pretty sure there's an Abbott and Costello routine in there, somewhere!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Except that's not rock music....Indie, or Alternative maybe, but rock?? She definitely was one of the greatest female singers, no matter the genre, and one of the most distinctive voices ever....I don't think anybody would mistake her any other singer for sure...
@warinsidemyhead8939 Rock is a pretty broad category. U2 is also technically rock. Rock was also pretty different in the 90s. This is on the lighter side, but definitely Rock for the 90s.
Gee, Bisscute, haven't you ever heard of a Woodsman? 😂 Tambourine, Tambourine Bisscute is the instrument you can't remember! Too many good songs to choose from The Cranberries. React to "Free To Decide" or "Hollywood" next thanks.😊
Lol, way you said "I didn't even knew" followed by "and she found him in THE FORRRREST😂" was just somehow so innocent and yet SO adorable!
"I be looking for men in all the wrong places. They be in the forest all along. I didn't even knew". 😂😂😂 Always entertaining, love you Biss!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Such a fantastic comment. My wife got a good chuckle as well.
@@BisscuteReacts That was so cute and funny lolol
Wow your my kind of gal--- I'm still laughing-- If I tell you where my favorite trees are will you visit?
She is now in a better place, singing with the angels as deserved
Back when this came out, I had a friend who was on an education visa from Scotland going to college with me. Bisscute .....I bet you $1000 USD that anyone who lived in the 90's will know her voice within 3 seconds of hearing one of her songs.
Present.
@@robertwilson2007 it's true 👍
Not only in the US i guess but her voice is recognisable in a sec throughout the worlld who grew up in the 90s
Ask one in China 😉
Try listening to covers by Franz Rhythm and see if you can tell the difference,
Some of the most beautiful lyrics, accompanied with her unearthly voice, this song is sadly sweet ♥♥
Dolores has such a unique, distinctive voice that's so beautiful. I love her Irish keening/yodel sound. She is sorely missed.
Linger brings all the feels, great song.
Hey thanks for reaction. The part where u say "lyrics are so nice" is my favorite part too.😊
This whole LP is worth a listen believe me
The look on your face was priceless. Bless you.
Saw them in Philly (I was a concert junkie) they were a GREAT band.
Saw them in Tampa `95
agree they were a GREAT band

Dolores was an exceptional musician, she had a beautiful voice and she was a beautiful girl
Love, Love, Love The Cranberries. Peace and Love, Bisscute from the hills and mountains of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. U.S.A. See ya on the next. Later.
Dolores had such a great voice. Her's and Alanis Morissette's are so iconinc for the 90s
Alanis Morissette? What an insult to Dolores lol
Can't forget Sarah McLachlan, and Natalie Merchant
Great choice for The reaction Miss Bisscute thanks for this one. I loved as usual Dolores voice was unique and great.❤❤❤
Thank you, glad you loved the reaction
This and "Linger" are my favorites. Thanks, Madalina.
I will add it to the list
This was voted as Ireland's greatest song by the Ireland subreddit recently and it's pretty clear to see why.
Doloris was Fae touched. No doubt in my mind.
One of the greatest songs ever made!
Biss, you're so darn funny! I always love your reactions.
Thank you, glad you loved the reaction
Love her voice too, she is missed.
She had a very distinctive voice unlike anyone else. Such a beautiful voice.
Their music is so unique. Enjoyed your reaction. 😊😊❤❤
Thank you, glad you loved the reaction
Love u sis RO. No one will take your bet :D . Such an unic, incredible voice and an amazing person
I love The Cranberries. Feel very fortunate I got to see them several times back then.
This always reminds me of end credits of Chungking Express, where Faye Wong sings this in Chinese. One of great movies of the 90s and one of Tarantino fav. movies.
Yeah she has a beautiful voice
One of my favorites from the Cranberries 😊

I was 19yrs old when the album was released. Still love it till today
Happy Birthday for when the album came out.
ayy, my favorite Cranberries song! I've never seen this music video though, the only one I knew about was a different one.
Amazing song. She was incredible.
Pentatonix did a pretty heartwarming rendition of this song
The "harmonising" is called keening. It's how irish women would sing at funerals
I love this song!!! I wish you a great weekend!!!! 🌹
Thank you, glad you loved the reaction
Beautiful voice!
Im from UK, grew up with these when young, loved this song, was so many versions done really well tbh too from dance DJs for nightclubs. They have a good few classics people have probably heard but not know who it was
Fun reaction!! My favorite Cranberries song is Salvation.
There was a video just after she died of the entire crowd at Croke Park singing this and even thinking about it puts me on the verge of tears
Great reaction. This was their debut single and my favourite hit from the band - much better musically than Zombie, IMO - and will be forever how I remember the late Dolores Riordan's voice. Nice band. R.I.P. beautiful Dolores
Dolores was just 19 or so when she wrote this. I rediscovered the Cranberries myself not so many years ago. I was crushed when she passed. 💔
My favorite Cranberries song ever is Linger, it just a timeless song very well craft it in so many ways
Hi Biss! When I first heard her harmonies I immediately thought of Bjork! The Cranberries are a recent find to me so I am not familiar with their music or style. I like what I hear though.

Some top notch ' Air Tambourine ' there Bisscute 😃🥰ps to find a beautiful man in the Forest..., you have to be Irish ! 🍀
That "harmonizing part" is called keening and is often done at Irish funerals.
I love watching people find greatness! Cheers young Princess!
Thank you, glad you loved the reaction
You see, Bisscute, all you need are some hiking boots and a shovel!
Dolores could sing the phone book and it would be beautiful and melancholy. Her voice touches my soul and always have. Wonderful reaction Biss
Thank you, glad you loved the reaction
You will win hands down i agree
Good one Biss...
PS; I live in the forest.
Problem is I'm in Canada... And do bring lots of water.
My suggestion: "Ode to my Family".
Thank you for the suggestion
Drums on this track are killer.

From "The Cramberries" you need to hear to: "Ode to Family". The voice of Dolores is amazing in this sing too.
Que chica tan extraña!!!
To call Dolores O’Riordan one of the greatest singers in rock music would be an understatement. It’s heartbreaking that she died so young 😞💔
Except that's not rock music....Indie, or Alternative maybe, but rock?? She definitely was one of the greatest female singers, no matter the genre, and one of the most distinctive voices ever....I don't think anybody would mistake her any other singer for sure...

O tanto que eu amo esta cantora 😭❤️
You really made me laugh so hard at the end!
“I’ve been looking for men in the wrong places” I lost it thank you for that bliss 😂🤣
this made me giggle! 😃
Dolores O'Riordan was bad ass. Did you know that before she moved to Canada, she was the richest woman in Ireland.
There is a famous movie about finding love with a man in the forest, it's called "Deliverance".
5:25 lol this had me laughing so hard.
Great reaction as usual
Thank you, glad you loved the reaction
Always sweet🙂
