The Labour Party's immigration policy for 2024 aims to create a more compassionate and structured approach to migration. Under a Labour government, immigration laws will be significantly changed, including new legal migration routes that could benefit many individuals and families looking to start a new life in the UK. Labour's new immigration policy emphasizes fairness and efficiency. One of the key elements is the introduction of streamlined processes to handle visa applications more effectively. This approach is intended to reduce waiting times and ensure that applicants receive timely decisions on their immigration status. Another critical aspect of Labour's plan is to balance welcoming immigrants and addressing public concerns about border control. Labour has pledged to support the Skilled worker route which enables UK employers to access the global talent pool. Labour says it would ask the Migration Advisory Committee to review the impact of raising the Skilled Worker salary threshold to £38,700, but the ban on care workers' dependants would be retained. Given the recent changes, it is unclear how Labour intends to reform this system further.
A priority for Labour is, restricting the demand for visas, by linking skills policy and immigration policy. Employers and sectors which request high numbers of work visas would have to enact training workforce plans to fill those skills gaps with workers who are already in the UK.
The party does not intend to formally cap any immigration routes but promises there will be appropriate restrictions on visas. Their plan is to “end the long-term reliance on overseas workers in some parts of the economy” by training and upskilling settled workers.
In practice, there is no substantive detail on how this will work. The UK has an immediate skills shortage in many areas, not least in healthcare. Implementing such training plans will take some time, which does not help in the short term.
Labour leader Keir Starmer has been vocal about his vision for immigration, emphasizing the need for humane treatment of migrants. Starmer's immigration policy includes provisions for protecting migrants' rights and ensuring they are treated with dignity. How is the rule in UK to fly drones as public areas such as this?
Need to register before flying most drones or model aircraft outdoors in the UK. There is an online test to get operator Id. If you drone weight less than 250g (eg. After a long and close reviewing what I found ultimately is changing the location will not solve problems or make u happier unless u change u as a person( way u think and what u do). Life in the UK(maybe same in the Aus also) is not a smooth one and u become a slave to white's agenda, taxes etc. There s no freedom to our minds especially when we Srilankans migrate because of tge culture difference. If u have a child teenager never expect harmony in ur family if u migrate to europe, the culture sucks. Even if u earn more than here u cant save, u cant have peace in mind generally. Most of the migrants boast about their experiences are actually fraud and not true. I have made my decision to return back to SL after completing foreign training one year as a medical registrar
