Here is our rendition of "O Sacred Head Surrounded."
Have a blessed Holy Week and Easter everyone!
We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed singing it!
Lyrics:
O sacred Head surrounded
By crown of piercing thorn!
O bleeding Head, so wounded,
Reviled and put to scorn!
Death's pallid hue comes o'er Thee,
The glow of life decays,
Yet angel hosts adore Thee
And tremble as they gaze.
What language shall I borrow
To thank Thee, dearest Friend,
For this, Thy dying sorrow,
Thy pity without end?
O make me Thine forever;
And should I fainting be,
Lord, let me never, never
Outlive my love for Thee.
German:
O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden,
Voll Schmerz und voller Hohn,
O Haupt, zum Spott gebunden
Mit einer Dornenkron;
O Haupt, sonst schön gezieret
Mit höchster Ehr' und Zier,
Jetzt aber höchst schimpfieret:
Gegrüßet sei'st du mir!
Latin:
Haec Tibi dona pura, o Deus, placeant.
Te omnis creatura coelique celebrant.
Nos quoque Te laudamus per almam hostiam.
Et supplices placamus Tuam justitiam.
A Te, Pater, creati nos Tibi reddimus.
Tibique consecrati vivemus sanctius.
Virtutibus sanctorum plebs Tua floreat.
Spectaculum coelorum orbis refulgeat.
English Translation - Last 3 Verses:
O sacred Head, now wounded,
with grief and shame weighed down,
Now scornfully surrounded
with thorns, Thine only crown;
O sacred Head, what glory,
what bliss till now was Thine!
Yet, though despised and gory,
I joy to call Thee mine.
May these pure gifts be pleasing to Thee, O God.
All of creation and the heavens glorify Thee.
We also praise Thee by this nourishing sacrifice.
And suppliantly placate Thy justice.
Created by Thee, Father, we give ourselves back to Thee.
And, consecrated to Thee, may we our lives be more holy.
May Thy people flourish with the virtues of the saints.
May the world reflect the glory of heaven. - เพลง
Here is our rendition of "O Sacred Head Surrounded." Have a blessed Holy Week and Easter everyone! We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed singing it!
Absolutely amazing guys!!
Absolutely fantastic
the german part was REALY solid, great job!
May god bless you and your Week too! Thank you so much!
I truly can say I have never heard a more beautiful rendition - all of your beautiful voices together praising Our Lord - Perfect start to Holy Week, thank you, God bless.
As a Christian Tolkien nerd, I fully approve of how you choose to use your skill.
thou I be not a Christian(a true one at any rate thou I do believe thou I'm not a official follower of the faith) I do appreciate the culture and music..so as a true Christian and a Tolkien fan(as am I dear sir) I see you as a man of culture and worthy of the highest of honours.
Your works are awesome!
Great to see you there bro
@@jaqbricks Thanks! you have some really nice mocs. And from your use of "spirit of the wild" I can tell you and I have similar music taste.
@@BrotherhoodWorkshop ❤️❤️❤️
I should know you guys by now, but I was not ready for the German and the Latin. Brilliantly done!
Indeed. Their german was really good. Only minor pronounciation differences and the "st" endings sounding like "scht" but that no big deal imo. Sounded really good!
@@Kimse05 But in the word "Spott" it's correct to pronounce it like "schp". It was only wrong to pronounce it like "scht" in "sonst" and "höchster".
@@wilhufftarkin8543 true. Didn't think of Spott anyway xD that was flawless.
What a great song to wake up to on this blessed sunday.
I thought the same thing. Add it to the Lent playlist.
Always remember, Tolkien spoke the 'Our Father' into a tape recorder to ensure it harboured no demons before using it. Also Christ is King.
Greetings my friends from beyond and within the grave. In the short time in which we inhabit this world, It would be my honor to offer you a new life with Christ. Let today be the day you begin✝️
This one trully is a masterpiece. It is a little bit sad that people don't watch these Christian compositions as much as fantasy themed ones, but I am really glad you still choose to sing them. To choose this over everyday populary, trully brings a smile on my face.
Could you guys sing "Salve Regina"? I've been really into Templar chants recently and I think your voices would make it even better
That would be perfect for their voices!
YES PLEASE!!! More chant! Do the solemn tone salve with a drone! Or better yet, the dies irea!!! (with a drone)! You guys sound great as always!
@@chumegathegoat7750 YES
Catholics pray the Salve Regina after the Rosary and after the Latin Mass. Not sure if it's a templar chant though I'm sure the templars chanted it too.
@@skilo581 The Templars made a version, look it up, it's amazing!
May all be blessed in Jesus Name.
Amen, Amen. Truly, truly.
I played your music to my grandparents while my grandmother was dying from cancer. It brought them some peace in such a terrible time for them. She's passed now, but I just wanted to thank you for your beautiful work. Even the brief respite it brought was a Godsend.
Thank you all.
❤
Such a beautiful rendition, and sung so well in three languages!
Your heavenly performance has added to the joy of OUR Easter week -- may God requite you richly for giving so freely.
What language shall I borrow
To thank Thee, dearest Friend,
For this, Thy dying sorrow,
Thy pity without end?
O make me Thine forever;
And should I fainting be,
Lord, let me never, never
Outlive my love for Thee.
Ich danke dir von Herzen,
o Jesu, liebster Freund,
für deines Todes Schmerzen,
da du's so gut gemeint.
Ach gib, dass ich mich halte
zu dir und deiner Treu
und, wenn ich einst erkalte,
in dir mein Ende sei.
Oh my goodness so beautiful
I hope you all have a blessed holy week.
Christ is king
Absolutely love how this was the only notification on my phone when I woke up this morning. Have a blessed Holy Week! Thank you for your beautiful music!
No words can describe how good this is.
What a beautiful rendition of this song. I especially appreciated the thematic shift in tone between the verses from a more traditional to sorrowful then regal sense with the musical accompaniment. That was an excellent touch, and the German and Latin were both a treat also. Have a blessed Holy Week.
Literally moved me to tears. Thank you!
Just got back from mass, where I sang this in my small parish choir!!!!
This rendition is Absolutely Beautiful!!!! Thank You!!!
A beautiful Rendition as expected of You guys. Thank you and God Bless
Thank you Clamavi de Profundis, and happy Palm Sunday! God bless you and your work. ✝️
Absolutely reverent, full of gratitude and worship for the sacrifice of the only Begotten Son of God.
A lovely arrangement of a beautiful hymn, in multiple languages!
I particularly admire the way that all the diction is absolutely clear, even when you're singing in parts, indeed your voices blend seamlessly
My only regret is not being able to sing with you myself, but its still wonderful to hear.
I am so glad I am early for once. May God bless you all in this holy week.
Happy Easter Season
I remember singing this in church as a kid, except i remember it being "Oh Sarcred Head Now Wounded".
Ausgezeichnet!
Have a happy and holy Palm Sunday and Holy Week.
Greetings my friends from beyond and within the grave. In the short time in which we inhabit this world, It would be my honor to offer you a new life with Christ. Let today be the day you begin✝️
Absolutely beautiful! We were listening to this during Catholic Easter with our new 8 Ukrainian friends who live with us in Poland since the beginning of the war, so this year we’ll have two Easters as they’re Orthodox - never too much of praising our Lord ❤️
❤
There needs to be more music like this in the world. It sticks with me and leads to reflection. Great job!
Please do more hymns y’all! Seriously beautiful and brings me to tears!
Absolutely beautiful! Really helps me get in the Easter mood!
Mein Lied für die Karwoche. Wunderbar gemacht. Vielen Dank!!!
Just what I needed this Sabbath day. Thank you Clamavi de Profundis!
This is fantastic!! I wish I could give it more than one like on here. We need more of this type of music!
Have a grace filled holy week and Easter. Laudentur Jesus et Maria!
This is the hymn we sang for our Recessional!
read the title and thought it said "zero sacred head surrounded" and was confused. Great song!
Wonderful, great rendition! We sang this in church today, after the reading of the Passion - though with somewhat less expert voices.
Have a blessed Holy Week all of you, may the Lord guide each and everyone of His flock through these troubled times!
This is beautiful! This has always been one of my favorites, thank you for creating and posting!
So beautiful in English and Deutsch. One feels as if in heaven. Oh Lord, please grant planet earth a healing balm upon the land. 🙏🏽🦋🙏🏽

I knew halfway through something was fishy, y'all never just do a sacred song in english, what I wasn't expecting was German AND Latin to appear.

Thank you, and may God Bless all of you this Holy Week, especially during the Sacred and Holy Triduum, and Easter Sunday.

Vielen Dank für dieses Lied zum Anfang der Karwoche.
Thank you!
The german pronounciation was almost perfect! Thank you very much for all the good work.
Awesome, you always deliver an amazing performance.
Thanks so much for this! God bless!
For some reason, very few of the arrangements of this have the "be near me when I'm dying" verse...always loved that one. Still really nice arrangement--lot of variations.
Beautiful! Thank you so much!

Very nice. Especially the German part :D
Wow... I recently learned a part for this and was really excited to see how you did this. Was totally unprepared for your CDP touch on this hymn! Instrumentation culminated in a gorgeous swell of harmonious song while still maintaining solemnity in the music.
I am so grateful you guys did this. God bless you with a peaceful Holy Week.
