Brilliant. Using the small scissors on the back is a perfect solution, esp since the mid sized scissors are no longer in production. Since the combo tool and nail file may be used for light duty Phillips head work, placing a nail file instead of the Phillips would add an excellent functionality, also using + scales. Great work.
hello, very nice idea to buil its own SAK. May i suggest you an other 2 layer configuration , if it works, i think it could a perfect urban EDC : 1st layer : blade + awl of alox. Back : corkscrew + mini screwdriver 2st layer : scisor. Back : 58mm combo phillips. With plus scales. If possible replace toothpick by a small pike to unlock sim card.
The 58 mm scissors on the bottom layer are absolutely genius! I've never seen anything like this before! Now I have a new dream SAK: Layer 1: Knife and Reamer, punch (like the Pioneer) Layer 2: Inline Phillips, and both the can opener and bottle opener on the opposite side. Layer 3: Pliers. Bottom layer: 58 mm scissors (like in this video). All bundled together with the Plus scales, and it's a winner! Basically it's a Tinker Deluxe on steroids for comfort - the toolset is very similar but the awl and philips will be inline so they are much more comfortable to use while the compromise is the scissors. @Hyper_D Will you make my dream come true?
I might! Sounds like a great set of tools. I have some backlog going on at the moment and I’m only making videos when it’s something special I think people would be interested in, and your idea does sound like it is…
Well everything is possible if you make it happen! However with just these two layers that would be a big compromise in one direction or another. A nail file could be swapped in for the combo tool, there is a small nail file on the 84mm models that would fit. 74mm scissors will be too long for the backside tool slot so they would need to be shortened and modified heavily thus defeating the purpose. Pliers obviously would add an extra layer and a thick one at that.
Usually no. The pivot barrels come as a set, where they are the same exact sizes as the original pins are. So if you use standard tools from the same size knife, they should fit directly just like with pins.
I have a large stock of them so I can’t know for sure where exactly these are from, but I have bought both from Aliexpress where they come usually packed with scales, as well as Etsy where you can buy just the barrels and screws separately.
In your first Video you mention there are many tool options for the opposite of philips screwdriver. What other options are there apart from the different generation Magnifying glasses Spike Verry glad I found your chanel. I hope i can resisit from ordering one of your builds :)
Other options I’ve seen and done opposite the inline philips would be a wrench from an Evo S557 or both the can opener and cap lifter together side by side.

Just great! But I'd keep the Plus Scales for the pen and pin.
Your two-layer Yeoman is the best SAK of them all.
Interesting concept

Really nice custom SAK…maybe a good name would be the Adventurer?
Very nice, I like it!

Good tool set. Bigger scissors?
Greatttt work!
Is there any way to get a nail file on it too? And perhaps a 74mm scissor instead of the 58mm? I would love to get one (or 2) of these with pliers.

Did you have to drill the tools for bigger wholes to use pivot barrels ?

Wow, can you share where you bought those pivot barrels ? I have searched but never found same size as the brass rivets. We're talking 2.2 and 2.5mm ?

Call it ‘The Graphic Designer’! How much?!
Interesting videos, subscribed. Where are you from?
Same country as I assume by your name that you are :)
