    I went to a professional from being quite light balayage to a level 2/3 and it faded super quickly and went a strange colour. Now i know as it should have been filled.

      Yes my colorist recently did what looked like an amazing job bringing me darker with a full head of lowlights. Two washes with a brunette specific shampoo and my hair is a light muddy blonde/brown it’s yucky. High end salon too!

    Thank you for the video! I especially appreciate the colour chart pictured when you were choosing colour; I have level 10 hair and I'm going to go to about a 7 ash blonde but I wasn't 100% sure exactly what to fill with to get to that level seeing as I am not going super dark like most tutorials on YT show. I had picked up a light copper blonde to fill my hair before going ash med/dark blonde so I am pleased to see that is probably going to be the right pigment I need to put back into my hair before I colour it darker.

    Hello ladies, do the same principle applies to grey hair? I mean should I fill up my clients hair first? I have a client that comes for roots, she is super white and we color her to a level 6, there is a green tint at the roots... love your videos!

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      hi Francine! great question :) if the client is 50+% grey/ white, we suggest adding some "natural" into the formulation to ensure full coverage. 75-100% grey add a tiny bit of the darker level (so in that case, a bit of level 5 into the formulation). hope this helps xoxo

    Every video I research seems to have someone with bleached hair. Do I still have to tone or fill with natural dark blonde hair to get brown hair? I don’t remember having to do this ten years ago…

    So my hair was a level 7-8 and I put a non-oxidative violet over top (L’Oréal colorista) and it’s faded over the past four months to a very light green color!! I want to go back to my natural level 4 so if I put a Demi red over top to cancel out the green and replace pigment, then dye level 4 on top would that work?

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      hhmmm its hard to say without seeing how green your hair is. red is a really strong pigment so it will leave a warm result. is it ok if you see red in your hair after or no?

    I have a question I had a level 9 and 10 balyage and I didn't do my research as I should and went straight in with a 6nv AND now what was blonde is purple how can I fix this was going for a light brown and the lady at Sally told me I should get this

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      what level of light brown? do you have an exact formula? if your hair now is darker than you need it to be I would get pravana color remover and just strip it back out and refill it again. purple isn't going to be easy to neutralize and will annoy you till the end of time. UNLESS, you are ok with a violet hued brown (which are also pretty..just depends on what you are going for exactly)💕💕💕

    I did not fill my daughters bleach blonde hair. Now it looks exactly like you described; faded and muddy green on the ends but more red coming through up top for some reason. you could use pravana color remover and start fresh OR if your hair is healthy enough, you could just get some highlights through it to lighten it up a bit too. the dimension would be pretty 😍.

      hello yes! you can always fill it and recolor it! filling is just a bit trickier now though because you need to account for the pigment that was left behind from your initial color. th-cam.com/video/b_gWo4u1mSk/w-d-xo.html this video might help you understand how to formulate for your fill color a bit better.

    Hi i filled with a red tone and then dyed the level 3 but now i can see the red undertone how can I fix this ?

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  ปีที่แล้ว

      Color over it with a L3 or L4 Green based ash. Red is a strong pigment, sometimes it might be better to use a copper with a little red in it as the filler rather than a straight red.
      How long have you been doing hair for?

  • @cassondrabean6137
    @cassondrabean6137 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Just wondering what color you would use to correct a slight green tone in the hair. And the roots that pulled to gold while maintaining a level 7-8 and wanting it to be cool toned

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi cassondra! that is tricky because every color correction is different. it depends what made it green in the first place and how green it actually is. to truly neutralize green you'd need to use red. that being said, red is a strong color and if you want the end result to be cooler there's a chance that it would show through. instead you can try to fill with a subtle gold and copper in a level 8 then colour it to your desired end level. if you’re desired end level is an 8, then skip the copper, if you’re doing a level 7 fill the hair with a gold copper
      for more information when it comes to color, we recommend you watch our law of color video here: th-cam.com/video/b_gWo4u1mSk/w-d-xo.html

    Such an educational video! Need some advice, my hair was box dyed black (terrible I know) back in July August professionally it was lightened with a partial balayage. The result was a reddish / copper toned which I loved but it faded quickly and was then professionally glossed to give an all over dimensional black/brunette. The gloss has faded showing the brassy balayage again and I have way too much on my plate to get into the salon. I have natural roots, faded black its more a very dark brown now, and the highlights. I want to go back to the all over dark brown which I know won't go over any black, but what shades do you recommend for the filling process? I was thinking of mixing Wella 7RR and Wella 7WG. Both are demi, then for a final using 411/4N a medium brown. Will these shades work together? Thank you so much!

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome!
      Glad you enjoyed it. I'm not overly familiar with Wella's product line BUT red is a strong pigment. I dont think you would need a 7RR to fill. I would maybe fill with a 6Red Copper or 6 Red gold and then proceed with your final color. If the red shows through more than you like then using an ash as your final color will help to neutralize the extra red

    Hi I bleached my hair and dyed ash brown. I dyed my hair blue and it turned green. I stripped the colors out using vitamin C and shampoo and now it’s back to ash brown. I want to dye my hair to a rich brown level 3 but scared that it’ll turn green without doing the filler. I’m not sure which one I should go for my hair is a medium light ash brown.

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your hair is already an ash brown, throwing a warmer brown on will cancel the green (giving it a "richer" / deeper color). Its best to consult with a professional though. You would fill your hair according to what you want your final color to be

    I have a client who is a 9 and would like to get to a 4N. I have a filler of 7NWB. What my question is, is a 7 a dark enough level to use as a filler?

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not in this case. A level 4 has more underpigment than a level 7 would have. You would have to restore all the missing pigment from a level 9 to at least a level 5. Then color it with your desired shade. Are you a hairstylist? 🙃we have a private Facebook group for hairstylists that have an abundance of hair educators in

      All colors (even ones that don't need a filler) will fade to some degree. I usually tell my clients every 6 weeks is the best for a bright and shiny color. Once your hair is healthier (or if it is already healthy) there won't be a ton of fading

      yes i will try to help. you only need to fill the hair if you are going 3 levels or more darker. by the sounds of it, it doesn't sound like you need a filler. try it without and see how the results last. you can always fill it after and recolor it. red is a tricky pigment to work with. unless you are going into the darker browns, copper is usually a suitable filler pigment.

      You would need to restore the violet and blue pigment. Here's a video that will explain th-cam.com/video/b_gWo4u1mSk/w-d-xo.html

    Hi, how much did you charge for this?

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We would charge 95-115/ fill (it depends on how thick the person's hair is and how much color they need). On average people need anywhere from 1-3 fills depending on how blonde they are and how dark they are going.

    My hair is a level 7 with some level 8 highlighting from being outside. I would like to go to a level 5 maybe 4. I am just wondering if I need a filler for this? My hair is natural and not dyed in many years. And I got a big chop at the beginning of the year, removing what had been dyed. I do have the natural highlights of lighter levels from being out in the sun during the summer though.
    I can not find any information online regarding hair that hasn’t been dyed and filler. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

      hellloo indigo queen! for someone that doesn't do hair, i am BEYOND impressed with your knowledge of levels. honestly, if i was doing your hair i would skip the "fill color". technically you don't have anything to fill because it isn't process. your hair might take a couple colors to really get the depth and saturation that you want but you can always color it a second time afterwards if it needed it. it just depends. some color lines are more translucent that others so if that's true for the color line you are using, just mix it one to one and make sure that it sits on for the full processing time and go from there. you might get away with just coloring it once. hopefully that helps :)
